I would appreciate any sort of building to go with the Super Hero line. I like to MOC buildings, not vehicles, so this particular line appeals only for the minifigs. But the new Batgirl fig looks great. She would make an awesome additional to my collection. I don't have a Joker yet but I wonder if the Juniors Joker will have the same printing as the Steam Roller.

When The Hobbit was written there was not a lot of the greater mythology. JRRT rewrote the chapter in The Hobbit so they Gollum no longer willing gives the ring to Bilbo. So the Necromancer was not originally the old enemy and was more of an excuse to draw Gandalf away and force Bilbo to be the hero. I suspect this film ends with Smaug trapping the dwarves in the moutain and flying off. That would support there being no Smaug sets in the December release.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
Blakstone replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That explains the number on the collar. -
I am excited for the new Elrond hair. I think the minifig print is the same but we have some forum members who can do a much better digital comparison than me. There is a leaked minifig posted in both the 2014 Super Heros and 2014 Star Wars threads. There appears to be a prototype yellow head on the fig.

There is supposed to be a Junior line coming in January. There is one Marvel set and one DC set. They should be actual minifigures instead of what the previous Junior line had years ago. We don't know if they will be the same prints or a simplified design. I believe the DC one had Batman, Robin, and The Joker. My guess if that it would be about $20. If they just reuse existing minifigs that you already have, I think you can skip it. But that is up to you. If the minifigs look good enough, I will probably buy it since I lack a Robin and Joker. Here is a link to what I think is a similar set. There is not much of a build here and while the DC Junior set is likely a bit bigger, I doubt any AFOL will want to display it. http://shop.lego.com/en-US/My-First-LEGO-Princess-10656

[MOC] The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

Very impressive. While I loved the forced perspective, my favorite part is the wings on the horse.- 10 replies

I don't want to believe it that there will not be a third wave and anonymous sources from unknown people are usually easy to ignore. So does 'Renegade007cjh' have any track record on leaks? We have seen repeatedly that some will invent inside sources to gain attention or try to convince others of their point of view. But perhaps 'Renegade007cjh' has an consistent source of reliable information. I suspect we will know for sure once this winter's Hobbit wave is released. Last year it had a promo for this summer's LotR wave. If it instead promotes next winter's Hobbit wave, I would be convinced.

[Castle] What do you like best? Generic or Specific?
Blakstone replied to Artifex's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I don't care if Castle has specific characters or not. I just wish they have a specified time period. Crusaders, Forestmen, Vikings. Heck, It would if they have Celtic warriors with woad (blue face paint). Though TLG has not even gone that far. It would add variety to these sets. Still a Ninjago approach where TLG has media tie-ins to help promote the line would be great. I don't see how they do that without specific characters. The childrens book section at Walmart has LEGO Superheroes and other LEGO themes represented in their young story books. Can you image the lift sales would get if TLG had a Sir Phillip and the Dragon storybook? -
It does not appear to be a zero sum formula. We had the biggest year of Lord of the Rings sets release approximately at the same time as the Castle relaunch. While it was the LotR that brought me out of my dark ages, I am still fond of Castle remembering it from my youth.

Castle is also represented in the Minifigures MMO coming out next year. Between that and The LEGO Movie, I am sure we will get more sets but they may not have the Castle brand on them. I really hope we get an updated look at the older Castle themes such as the Forestmen or Vikings since the movie seems thrive on nostalgia. Of course, I would love more medieval civilian sets. I doubt Castle would get a Chess set next year though. Funcom.com

Just because it was mentioned numerous times does not make it true. There was an army builder in the Lone Ranger licensed line. Like many, I feel that any Tolkien army builder needs a main character to widen its appeal. The Lone Ranger set in question has the Lone Ranger as well as there generic Cavalry soldiers. Further I suspect that the Elven Outpost in December will work as an army builder. http://www.lego.com/en-us/theloneranger/products/the-lone-ranger/79106

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
Blakstone replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Probably because everyone is speculating at a CMF Simpsons series is an excellent/horrible idea. I completed my set a week or two ago. While I may like an extra 1-2 Tikis, That and the Targets and Walmarts in my area seem to order only one box. I am enjoyed a respite from having to drive everywhere checking for them. -
Excellent news. I might buy one for a cheap Joker.

I count five. I never got a Kingdoms or Castle advent but looking them up, they appear to reuse prints that were already available. That means it is a small amount of useful brick and no exclusive prints. The City advents appear to be like that too will Star Wars does have some exclusive prints but they are not useful for regular MOC. Friends appears to have some holiday prints. If there are new, exciting minifig prints, I don't see any advantage to having advents in the line.

Simpsons Collectable Minifigures aka Series 13 (non-official term)
Blakstone replied to kasmca's topic in Special LEGO Themes
If Series 13 truly is the Simpsons, I will set the wave out. But I have no issue with a movie line of CMF or a MMORG line. Both of those seem to have a similar level of representation across the LEGO themes. One wave of CMF focus on one topic with the exception of Superheroes, I fear would be a disaster. I don't think that even City, Castle, or Pirates can generate the same level of interest as the current line does as collectors from each of those buy these figs. The current CMF has expanded my interested in City and Pirates. Without it, I would have only been a LotR / Kingdoms guy. -
I suppose it is a Zero Sum game in that every set we get keeps us from getting something else. But I don't get that fear that another Rohan set would deprive us of a Gondor set specifically. The Pirate Ship Ambush set as much as anything else deprived us of either. The Rohan soldiers did not have a consistent appearance which is harder to army build than the uniform look of the Gondor soldiers. Also Rohan fought in the major battles of two movies. I wish the Gondor faction well and hope you guys get a new helmet mold and awesome printing. I strongly favor a Meduseld set but I won't try to change your mind on what sets you want to champion.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
Blakstone replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I competed my set at lunch today. I felt through the entire display and picked up a second Pretzel Girl but did not find any extra Tikis. I needed Grandma to finish the collection but I only found her after I walked the aisle looking at the sets. Someone had set her aside. But I got her. I could use an fourth constable, a second tiki warrior or saxophone player but I have one of each now. -
I think the two Avengers sets in January will be one Thor and one Captain America. The Captain America movie has several other Avengers characters in it. Those two movies can cover a lot of Avengers stuff. An X-Men set tied to come out around the time of the X-Men movie does not mean that it will be the movie version of the characters. My preference is that they keep with the comic version or the 90s cartoon show version instead. The Marvel game showed that version of characters. I wonder if the LEGO Junior sets will be similar to the simple My First LEGO builds. They are in the LEGO system instead of Duplo but are cheap and very easy to build. If the minifigure prints are as same quality as the other superheros that can be a cheap way to get some more figs. Still this is exciting news after a lull in LEGO Marvel news.

I doubt Series 12 would be pushed back. We have seen LEGO waves for other movies come out months before the movie. I don't think one month before The LEGO Movie would be considered bad. I agree that if they did push back this wave, it would impact all the later waves which would be a problem for TLG.

I agree with most of Faefrost points that it is a good idea to focus on one set of about $50 or less in price. From a graphic design perspective, the eye is drawn to white space. The thumbnail image still has to be simple enough to convey the concept and still intrigue. I mentioned upthread that I shared the Spartan project on a Facebook page that I admin. It got three likes but no jump in support on CUUSOO. I think you need to other ways to market your project, and it is best to focus on one project though I don't think you have to cancel the others. You might need to an amateur history blogs to cover your project. Other CUUSOO projects jumped in support once they reached out past the AFOL community. Based on many comments on Eurobricks, there are many AFOLs that have given up on CUUSOO once their favorite project got the 10,000 votes but failed the review. I support many of your projects and enjoy this thread. But once you complete your design, you need to focus on getting more eyeballs on it. I don't think this thread will get you to 200 supporters. I know that if a thread does not interest me, I don't bother checking it out later.

I agree but that is Clone O'Patra's point. LEGO would lose a bunch of money on sets if everyone could just buy the minifig packet to get the figures. I wouldn't buy the helicopters, flying cars, etc if I could get the figures the other way.

I bought a second Weathertop for $40. The box was smashed and taped shut but after buying it I verified that all the bags were in it unopened.

I think LEGO had enough time to delay sets that were planned that are now in the third movie. Smaug will definitely be in this year's movie but I suspect that LEGO did not have enough time to design him. I am excited for an elven army builder this year. Perhaps we will get more army builders for the Battle of the Five Armies next year.
