  1. Well I certainly got a good giggle out of this this morning! The aliens are way cool.
  2. Location: H08 - Sinden's Run Tags: civil --Weekly Explorer's Transmission-- --Log of Eagle-Eye Silver-- -- 26 Julali 3815-- Grunt work today as there is nothing living or growing in this outer rim asteroid field. I guess that’s a good thing, after all the vacationing I’ve done lately but energy beam mining in space is no fun. I’ve got to run my jetpack thrusters to counteract the force of the Octan Corp. D-EB-Mk. 4’s energy flow. At least they sent me out here with some help. The mining drone is some impressive technology with fully computerized station-keeping thrusters (standard propellant, not awesomnium like my jetpack) and a vigorous beam drill. During coffee breaks, I’ve been admiring the viewβ€”it’s been a while since I’ve had a true exoatmospheric mission, Sindon’s Run is a beautiful collection of awesomnium-packed space rocks that would make a truly exciting space race. I wonder if Big Z could set up a course…. --End-- I took some LEGO time off, it was good to get back at it this weekend! C&C appreciated! Edit: Crap, I didn't get the rest of the title up there! Can the powers that be change it to read "[O - H08] Asteroid Mining" please?
  3. Another entertaining build Garmadon! Nice fighter, nice tree, nice landing pad. I don't think the landscape is quite as well put together as some of your previous duck MOCs, but it retains the miniature plateau stuff that I do really like. Eagle-Eye can take care of your winged pest problem if you want him to...
  4. I second this option.
  5. Sure. Our own Mark of "Orion" did some really nice color blocking with the greens here. Take a look at pretty much anything in Derfel Cadarn's Flickr. He manages to create smooth transitions without wedge or round plates by using small pieces (1x1s and 1x2s). Here's another, and another. Especially for smaller "vignette" MOCs, you're probably better off running with a single main color and using a second or third as accents.
  6. Crazy work here Bob. A nautilus spaceship is always a crowdpleaser and you've pretty much aced it here. What I'm not really sold on is the big dish in front. I don't know why but it looks a bit off to my eyes
  7. I haven't seen any of the Mad Max movies, but I do know that the grey hover car/tank in this MOC is amazing. Love those cannons! The terrain is a little blocky for my tastes. I might try to control the color blocking a little more and use some rounded or wedge plates if you have them for a more natural look.
  8. Somebody was hitting the greeble juice pretty hard, huh? Looks fantastic LordDan! Embedding the dive scooter in there as the engine really compliments the business of the greebling well since it has all those vanes in it.
  9. The articulated & fragile-looking hover-ers are fun and I all the flora gives this a nice atmosphere overall. I'll echo Garmadon's comment about the base needing another layer or two.
  10. Dang man, this is way cool. 6983 was one of my favorites of my childhood LEGO sets (Deep Freeze Defender & Solar Snooper FTW!), so that base scores some major points with me.
  11. One of these weeks pombe's near birthday suit attire is going to have to be either explained or rectified else a certain doctor might get involved! Another nice series from you pombe. The ship looks incredibly sleek, though I do think the photography kind of lets you down here. I think it's probably lighting more than anything-->need some some more of it.
  12. I think adding brown to the M.A.N.T.I.S. color scheme is a really good idea, the ship looks great with the added contrast. Cool yellow plant too!
  13. Flying saucer, heck yeah! The comms arrays have a couple interesting parts used and I'm really glad you haven't taken apart that rover.
  14. I was REALLY hoping the above MOC would be what I was getting when I clicked the thread link! The scene is perfectly rendered in LEGO and this completely made my day! The movie had a very limited US theatrical release since it was scheduled to debut close to the Columbine shooting and it's subject matter if I recall correctly, but the fact that they made a sequel ought to give the folks that haven't seen it enough info to go rent/Netflix it if they're into Tarantino-ish films.
  15. Ooooh I like your idea for a hologram! The robot is a nice little piece of work too.
  16. The vehicle is a great piece of work and you've got some great shaping with both the cave and the snow. I really like this, in fact, the only thing I'd change would be to get some snow shoes in a non-white color. They aren't really working for M.A.N.T.I.S.
  17. Another beautiful integration of System pieces and non-System pieces! The side-by-side cockpit is just plain cool too. I'm not convinced the fingers at the rear are adding anything though.
  18. That was some lecture! I really like the multi-vig nature of this story and how they all pull the Octan crew together.
  19. That T300 is delicious! A great example of Kawashita tech!
  20. That's some great micro there!
  21. Very nice double-layer build Kai The mixed up studs directions really work well!
  22. Once again, awesome woodwork SK. I wish there was some more detail around the door (what's with the mild angle there btw?), but I like the s-curve of the roof rakes. The path looks really good too, I need to find a bunch of 1x1 square tiles now...
  23. No need to experiment so much with the phenomenon the Masters at the University of Petra call "gravity"! Good to have you on board Danny! Looking good Ecc!
  24. You've really developed a distinctive style so far for your Octan AG builds! The coral looks really good, but I'm not sold on the tan hair pieces.
  25. I really like that Kawashita mech! The dragon head flamethrower detail is oh so very Kawashita and the torso is simply some great LEGO work. Oh wait, this is a M.A.N.T.I.S build....?
