[K-C04] 321 Terrestrial Junction, Tchalinko, Aeristus

Well, that's amazing Mike. I'm not sure I can add anything to the comments above! -
Epic. Can't wait for the rest of the pics!

Every explorer needs some gizmos and gadgets in the trunk! The black stalks are fabulous as alien plant life and the color variation is expertly done in the underground (something I need to work more on). I like the overall shape of the speeder--it reminds me of the 1-2 man scooters that techs drive around the factory I work in, good industrial vibe --but I think the piece you used as the trunk cover is a bit odd. A brick-built solution might have been better there.

Spectacular micro skills here. No complaints from me.

Pure awesome. Loooooove the toolbox and the mech depicted throughout its construction is just too cool.

Except for the piracy , sweet MOC SK! The amphibious vehicle has quite the military feel to it and I love the door (?) on the front.

Cracking me up man! Poor H3 better figure out how to get on the Octan Corp's leaders' "good" list! The piping is really well done and the underwater layer is a cool idea. Superb work with the landscape as well.

I think some green would have been nice in at least the ship, but I really like this MOC! Reminds me of the the Enterprise shuttle bay from TOS.

A behemoth of a truck Garmadon! Really cool imposing shaping on it. The tiered landscape is nice as well.

The Algus Saga - Southern Comfort

Yep, those DK men are gonna need some much warmer clothes! The big tan tent is rather cool. I like the layering with the red at the opening.- 22 replies

One of your best by far! The crumbling stonework is really fantastic. The coloring and arrangement of the landscaping is perfect in my opinion--the orange is unexpectedly cool here--and that path! Holy cow that's cool!

So gorgeous. The netting technique for the roof really shines here and I really like the telescope--there's some real "whimsy" there and it's awesome. One of these days you're going to have to give the rest of us mortals a tutorial on your round tower technique. It's mind-blowing and looks really, really good. The bright color choices here really pop and look great in sum total and as always your off-the-grid rockwork is phenomenal. I'm not exactly sold on the 1x1 round brick assembly next to the telescope. A first I thought it was supposed to be stairs, but it appears that the path to the telescope goes behind the structure. It looks very out of place.

Nice sigfig collection Gunman! Also, that olive roof.... -
Haha! I just noticed that Ertauq is Quatre backwards! The gas plumes gently coming out of the ground are well done and I like the attention to detail with the plants knocked down behind the speeder. It's not the first time you've done something like that, but each time I've though "that was smart". I don't really think the violently pink background is helping you any here. Is it edited in or the real-life color?

The mix of studs and SNOT are interesting in the micro build, but I'm not sure the studs work for micro in this manner--especially with sand. Curved slopes work really well for dunes both at minifig scale and microscale. I do really like the shape of the hanger though! Also, big time NPU on the big tan pieces you used for the wall. Race track of some sort?

I take all my pictures indoors. My setup is both "mediocre" to "adequate" and dirt cheap. I use white posterboard for my backdrops, though I really need to get some other colors! A sheet should run you less than $0.50, and, if you hit the stores during the back-to-school sales that will be coming in a few weeks, you can probably get cheaper--plus, no taxes! While you're at Wal-Mart (ain't looking for quality here...) get some cheap desk lamps, clamp lamps, floor lamps or whatever works for your LEGO space and some CFL lightbulbs with the highest kelvin number you can find on them (They'll probably also say "daylight" or something, but trust the numbers, not the words.). Why they decided to measure the "whiteness" of light with a temperature unit is beyond me. I like 2 clamp lights for the front so I can just clamp them to the edge of the LEGO table and 2 taller lamps on either side from above. Use blue painters' tape to stick some facial tissue over the lamps for some dang near free diffusers or you'll have glare like crazy (which messes up photo editing for me, but I've got limited skills there). Also use the blue tape to keep the posterboard stationary on the table and stuck to the wall in the back while leaving no residue on your LEGO table. The tripod for your camera might cost more than this MacGyver photo booth. Using my LEGO table as my photo area also forces me to clean up the mess more regularly since all the extra pieces have to get off the table before set up. And definitely get some actual editing software. GIMP is free and you only really need to figure out a couple functions (crop to rectangle selection, magic wand select, lasso select, color levels<--awesome!, spray paint/smudge/paint bucket/etc. on rare occasions--usually because you screwed up the pic setup...) to seriously improve your pics.

Awesome base! The "legs" as the drilling apparatus are a cool concept. I really like the little exo-suit. It's a great detail in a big MOC.
