  1. This is the least judgmental forum I have ever been involved in (Brickset take note!). Everybody is so kind and supportive, judging who made the best (and also therefore the worst) MOC just feels at odds with the general atmosphere. Forget the vote – well done everybody. Tell us the criteria for TC7.
  2. He can also do impressions... 6 by jamesjtillson, on Flickr The Karate Kid
  3. I'm guessing that if the prize was simply automatic entry in to the Hall of Fame then there would still have been 43 entries.
  4. ^Thank you, good idea. I tried the "revert to original" in video manager. It says "in progress" now. I'll check it again later tonight and redo if needed.
  5. I was quite pleased with my video until Youtube "fixed" it. The Camera was on a tripod but now looks like it was shot by a drunk person during an earth-quake.
  6. 38. Terrafugia Transition Street-legal Aircraft Ch1 - L Motor for drive Ch2 - M motor to adjust the pitch of the elevator Ch3 - M Motor to open the wings, turn on the prop (L Motor & Switch) and connect the steering servo to the rudders (all at the same time). Ch4 - Servo for steering front wheels (and rudders but only when the wings are extended) 1 by jamesjtillson, on Flickr 2 by jamesjtillson, on Flickr 3 by jamesjtillson, on Flickr 4 by jamesjtillson, on Flickr 5 by jamesjtillson, on Flickr http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=105633
  7. Looks like fun, I bet the Kids love it! What will the 4th function be?
  8. Excellent! Reminds me of a Porsche 914. I think we amateurs try too hard to fill every gap - See Crowkillers new car, there is just enough visual information for your imagination fills in the gaps, better than any lego panel ever could.
  9. Fantasic combination of curves and angles. Looks great form any viewing position and looks fast while standing still. The remote gearbox linkage is the icing on the cake. IMHO it is your best work yet. Why don't TLG get you to design their next proper supercar?
  10. Getting closer to the right shape but the deadline is getting closer too. overlay 4 by jamesjtillson, on Flickr Replacing those 12L flexi for the conopy is next on the list...
  11. I am astounded by the concept of building something so big and complex. How long did this all take, first idea to last brick? How many parts? Did you plan it all in LLD or make it up as you went along (like I do)? Are there any sections you will optimize/revise after TC6? Will you take it all apart in a few weeks and build something else?
  12. Dude! If I can't vote for my own then I will vote for yours, forget that, I will vote for yours even if I can vote for mine. Sooooo many white panels. The directional jet looks almost organic. Do a list of the functions and which motor/channel moves them.
  13. The clicking is just mini actuator on full extension, no room to add clutch wheel (and gear back up to keep the wing folding speed the same). Functions are: Ch1 - Servo for steering front wheels (and rudders but only when the wings are extended) Ch2 - L Motor for drive Ch3 - M Motor to open the wings, turn on the prop (L Motor & Switch) and connect the steering servo to the rudders (all at the same time). Ch4 - M motor to adjust the pitch of the elevator I did an overlay on photoshop. That roof line has got to come down by 2 or 3 studs. It looks a bit Herman-Munster-ish to me right now. overlay by jamesjtillson, on Flickr I would also like to drop the hood (by 1 stud) but that's where the M Motors live so it may not be possible before the Sunday deadline.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAN5PR7DOBw&feature=youtu.be[font=helvetica 3rd RC channel lowers wings, turns on the prop and connects the steering to the fins on the back. This is still a WIP as Mrs JT still thinks its Fugly. lego 061 by jamesjtillson, on Flickr lego 060 by jamesjtillson, on Flickr lego 059 by jamesjtillson, on Flickr lego 062 by jamesjtillson, on Flickr
  15. I never built anything to a deadline or a set of criteria set by ANother before. Nose 1 by jamesjtillson, on Flickr Marea (wife of JT) added "Oh my god, that is ugly"
  16. My entry for TC6 is a technic model of the Terrafugia Transition Street-legal Aircraft. Here is the real thing One of the images I used to create my model. Flying car by jamesjtillson, on Flickr This is what it looked like 7 days ago More details to follow soon.
  17. Stick it in a pack of rice (to soak up the water) and hope for the best.
  18. Do some variants of x928cx1 come with different spring rates or are they all a ridiculously powerful and unyielding as the 2 orange ones I got this morning?
  19. No technic set should ever come with a DOLL! (Except 8457 which was cool)
  20. Occurs 40x in 11 sets (http://rebrickable.com/parts/32016) so not that rare. If you have 8448 and 8070 you'd have 16 of them.
  21. 8183 is great for indoor use. We have 2 but you can race (or demolition derby) 4 at once. More System than technic but still great fun.
  22. I've bought and sold 50+ used 8366 and 8475 over the past few years, they are all over 10 years old and are getting very unreliable now, so I don't do it anymore. When working they are fast and powerful, great for use outside.
  23. There are 4 possible positions for the axel to run through on those comb wheels, check you have the axel in the right hole.
  24. I grew up in the 80s, when Lego's motto was "A new toy everyday". When did it become "Just build this and watch it get dusty"?
