The Greatest Collectible Minifigure THANKS AND GOODBYE
williejm replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
oops. I didn't even realise, I thought clicking the second one would just nullify the first. Feminist Icon & all round overachiever Lisa Simpson for me, please. though I do love the winking sailor. x- 2,045 replies

The Greatest Collectible Minifigure THANKS AND GOODBYE
williejm replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
i think it's about who is engaging and with a 6 way spread you only need a sizeable minority to make sure the 'same' figures win. I mean, Islander & aztec, 2 Romans, 2 elf warriors and forest maiden... maybe'd be more objective to pitch the 'same' ones against each other - certainly a thought for the next round.- 2,045 replies

The Greatest Collectible Minifigure Main Topic
williejm replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
looking at the winners thus far, there's a noticeable chunk of 'similar' 'warrior' females and half of the males are warrior figures too. Not sure if that speaks to which are the best figures, or if there's a very specific set of likes to those who are voting. will be interesting to see how that pans out across the full 64.- 136 replies

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

More likely a feature of increased volume of figures being produced, ergo more faulty figures, I'd think -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18 Rumors and Discussion
williejm replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Eh? Honeypot, carrot, apple, panda teddy, banana, ice skates, whip ... I count only four of the animal suits with no accessories (lizard, chicken, unicorn & shark) - all of which featured at least two new moulds. The two food costumes are accessory free - but have big unique moulds, and the li'l devil has well above average part count plus unique accessories. -
hmmm.. arguably two variants of one species, but a mould that could be either a jaguar or a leopard depending on what you prefer. So, yeah. There's also a new tarantula in Jungle, new city dolphin in Fun At The Beach, and french bulldog and rabbit in next CMF series. Quite a lot of lego animal developments ;)

REVIEW: 71017 LEGO Minifigures - LEGO Batman Movie Series
williejm replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
I still maintain that the options on the last question are not extensive enough. It needs a fourth for those of us who either have no preference or like both. At present it means some of us can't complete the poll as we can't answer that question. 1 - Yes, I prefer the traditional LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 2 - No, I prefer licensed LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 - No, I prefer singular theme on LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series -

Maybe the theme is skaters ... -
Random question, what's the opposite of 'political correctness'? I for one am quite happy to see any Lego that's a little less stereotyped, male-dominated and white (or yellow). I'll be going out of my way to buy this set.

I have a bunch of Twin Peaks figures (which are almost entirely purist). Though since Jim Gordon's wearing a trenchcoat in the Lego Batman Movie, and Chief O' Hara's minifigure gives us that hairpiece in that colour ... they are getting more purist by the day.I've never uploaded pics here, so here goes, and apologies in advance if I muck it up!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 17 Rumors and Discussion
williejm replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Think the lack of a syringe may precisely be so that it doesn't look like the bunny is a test subject! french bulldog is a canny addition. They're now one of the most popular and 'fashionable' dog breeds, so it's turned a good figure into one that will be popular just for the pup. Surely we must take a break from new dog breed moulds for a few series now though - unless there's a planned city subtheme of dog grooming sets or a CMF planned with 16 different breeds!- 1,421 replies

It's hard to make out but do we assume the panther figure has two points of articulation (head and hind legs) like the bear?

Er perhaps this is veering very off topic, but not all dog owners are irresponsible, thanks. And my dog has as much right to have fun at the beach as anyone else ;)

Loving your work. Though not sure I'd agree that animal moulds are impotent ? Happy to have the 'big spotted cat' that can be jaguar or leopard, quite a savvy call by Lego to cover lots of geographical options really. In time we will surely see a tiger recolour. By the same token though, perhaps the 'crocodile' needs to be called crocodilian to cover crocs, alligators and caimans? ?

Many tropical species are! Yes please X 4 I've often wondered why that standard dog mould didn't get few more obvious colour / print options: black with tan for a Doberman or white with black patches for a border collie for example

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
williejm replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't understand the hate for licensed CMFs either. Looking at Batman series in terms if useful parts - new lobster, two new hairpieces, new dual moulded legs, a Christmas jumper, silver crab, fairy wings, two new skirts, the orca costume (and that head), Egyptian headdress & staff, capes galore and some great new flesh coloured heads. Simpsons, Disney and superheroes clearly appeal to different Lego and non Lego audiences. It's all good in my view. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 17 Rumors and Discussion
williejm replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think an Australian 'bush man' has to be a high probability now, given the existence of a boomerang mould. If it comes with a new animal accessory though - my money'd be on a koala I'm really torn on the matador/toreador suggestion. On one hand I totally agree it's contentious and could be seen as glorifying or supporting bloodsports that would be hard to justify ... but on the other hand it's such an iconic costume and image. It's certainly been used by Disney and others in the past - so not sure where Lego would draw the line here. However perhaps it's the minifigure that 'no one would have expected to be made...'- 1,421 replies
