A dead crow hair accessory doesn't count in my book. Unless we are also calling the turkey ;) Dunno though. The penguin came in the same series as the penguin suit, and the panda costume came with a panda toy ... i think a lot depends on how many new moulds there are.

we are certainly living in interesting times vis a vis animal moulds - with a number of things happening at once: - city subthemes delivering 'big' animal moulds quite routinely - animals that have been brick-built in previous sets (bears, orca...) turning up as actual moulda - some judicious re-use of moulds with colours and printing (bears, and big cats) - easy to access animals in CMF lines, that seem to be crossing over into sets and Build-A-Minifigure walls - much more breed / species-specific moulds and printing (puma, french bulldog, great grey owl etc) As to geographic spread, I possibly spend too much time considering what is covered and what isn't. We now have 'big carnivores' (bears and big cats) that cover the arctic, north america, south america (especially if you allow the leopard or panther to double as a jaguar), Europe, Africa and Asia. A black bear variant actually gives a passable option for many other species of bear than just the american black bear too. So what's missing? A lion is pretty obvious. There is nothing that is Australian other than a crocodile (I'd expect a koala/cockatoo the best chance in CMF unless there's an outback series. I think this is likely to yield a toucan at some point for S.America too). Then it's really the big herbivores - deer are obviously overdue. I'm still holding out for a moose and a bison somewhat hopefully. And there needs to be some justice given to Africa with a rhino/giraffe/elephant really at some point. Then there're the smaller more everyday omissions that could be cross-theme - wolf, squirrel, sheep, pigeon, crow and eagle would be my obvious list. Excited to see what the next year brings in animal moulds though!

While I’ve no doubt that this is an appealing series to us lot, i wonder how well it will attract core audience of kids? in particular there’s one fun batman variants and just one other that I think most will be confused by.

Not a new mould or colour - but in a surprising turn it appears that the new city dolphin will appear as an accessory in the second series of Lego Batman Movie CMFs, if leaked photo of the series leaflet is anything to go by. That will be a pretty desirable CMF! And the first time any lego dolphin has been so easily accessible, as well as (I’m guessing) the biggest part ever to be included as a CMF accessory.

Surprisingly few new moulds - at first glance it might just be soccer mom Batgirl's hood. That's unusual for a CMF line (and possibly indicates series 18 might have a lot of new moulds ...?)

it's nice to know it seems to be dark tan. They've really milked this big cat mould already! Bodes well i think...

I'm hoping the costume series's has more variety than just big animal / food costumes, and don't think that precludes animal accessories. For example a sheep could come with a figure of a kid in a nativity shepherd costume.

Not sure an orca mould would have many / any other species uses... I’ve been wondering if the Orca / new dolphin / penguin moulds hinted at some Seaworld type sets somewhere down the line. Whilst I want the animals, this would be a PR folly for Lego and I hope they aren’t.
