  1. I am narrowing my eyes at your post.
  2. Not a bug report as such, but a follow-up to an old bug that might interest a lot of builders: For some reason I decided to open up an old model, then move the parts mentioned in the collision error report. Something good happened! They actually fit now. So I'm going to assume that the old "anti-stud" / cavity collision problem has been fixed for a load of other parts too, and I'll be going through some old stuff to check. I recommend that other builders do it too, damnit.
  3. If I was so inclined, I'd release instructions to build a LEGO "Ben Fogle" and send them to Ben Fogle. Unfortunately, my creativity has been destroyed by nearly 30 years of following LEGO set instructions and I have lost the ability to think for myself D:
  4. For anyone who has been waiting for a sale before picking up a 42043 MB Arocs, Amazon just knocked £40 off their price. Just after I decided to go and blow my slush fund on Bricklink, argh. EDIT 20150516: They lowered the price further by £10, bringing it to ~£120. Just bought one with me birthday moneys, but I'll probably be waiting at least a week for them to restock before I can hold it in my clammy, wobbly palms.
  5. I completely forgot that I made this little Club-exclusive build. Oh well, here ya go! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 31045 - Ocean Explorer [Model D] - theme: Creator Errors: Clip-in-tile connections don't seem to be a thing in LDD yet, but they can be done with scaffolds. So, the 1x2 tile for the radar doesn't make a connection. Nor does the little car on the ship's deck. LXF (LDD 4.3.9 / b2075)
  6. Gearbox changeover catches fit pretty nice, too: They cause a 3/5M offset, but that might not be as much of an issue as their snugness - there's a little bit of friction on this setup. I'm hoping that the guide slots on the quadrants will be a little wider to take into account the effect that the curvature will have on ideas like this.
  7. 'Scuse me for chopping up your quote like this; it makes it easier for me to follow on with some points. I'm assuming from the activity over at The New Elementary, that maybe TLG is dealing with LUGBULK orders as a priority? I dunno how those things work with all their secret handshakes and one trouser leg rolled up. It's a kick in the teeth to see piles of parts that us mere mortals can't yet buy directly. I might be cheeky enough to email Customer Service with a list of stuff as you did and see if they'll send me a quote. I believe that's how it was done in days of yore anyway. I'm also waiting to scrape the images for my offline inventory app, hah. Also, a weird thing I noticed: since B&P cuts off any single part's quantity at 200, there are a load of inventories (particularly those with hundreds of Technic pegs) which are wrong on Brickset.
  8. Imagine if this thing had a load of red #3 connectors and toggle joints lurking inside!
  9. If only to exhibit a half-cocked threat of legal action (really?) because someone didn't like the actions of a moderator presiding over a competition which is intended to encourage fun and creativity.
  10. There's a load of stuff on there that was technically never in stock ever since being added, such as 6123815 / 22961. I want DOZENS of these already. Then there are all the bits that appeared in sets four months ago, yet still aren't even listed. WHY DON'T THEY WANT MY MONEY
  11. It's unlikely that I'll ever end up owning one, but I appreciate the efforts of those who will for the sake of bringing the prices of common orange parts down via economies of scale.
  12. Can't use these old knees too much after having them perforated by many stray drawing pins as a young'un* so I just sit on the floor with a mess of bits around me. * Pulling a drawing pin out of your kneecap is one of the weirdest feelings
  13. Most likely weird lighting on one of the furthermost rack quadrants.
  14. I got about ten litres out of 42029. Mostly from the steering and suspension parts, but it's got a decent selection of panels too.
  15. I'm pretty pleased to see these making a comeback - current prices on Bricklink are prohibitive: Well, they'll probably also be in something else, but this will be both comparatively more affordable and a great way to supplement my pneumatic parts stash. And thanks to those new pictures it's jumped a few places up my wantlist!
  16. Those rims do look mighty fine, and as a layman I wouldn't even know there were problems unless pointed out.
  17. A time limit (2 mins seems to be the usual) before the message appears would be nice. For some reason I still miss little errors in post formatting after submitting, despite using the preview feature. Some errors seem to be inserted by the software (random </b><b> appearances) as a result of post length. This is the only forum I've ever known to be so unforgiving with edits.
  18. Is there a LEGO Popcorn set? Because I want to sit here and build it while this thread wrecks itself.
  19. A meatbag who just happens to like LEGO
  20. Click on the "Template" tab in the left sidebar, select one or more parts, then click the button at the bottom to add stuff. A few things to consider though: This creates .LXFML files for the templated parts in the folder C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer\LibraryGroups\, or whatever it is on Macs. The templates will be in a subfolder which can be named anything at all (so you can make your own), but they have no effect on the random order that LDD chooses to display them each time the program starts. They also have no effect on whether the template appears in Standard or Extended mode - that depends on the <Brand> node in the LXFML, created by the mode used when adding the template. I'm doing a really bad job at "selling" this feature. Oh well, ask me anything. EDIT: hah, I forgot about the %USERNAME% Windows environment variable.
  21. I've seen this in the tyres from the 8297 / 9398, too. I had an RC mod of the 8297 where I noticed little squeaks when quckly switching between forward and reverse. I thought it was because I was using it on a smooth floor, but the same thing happened on carpets.
  22. I do both, at the same time. Laptop on the floor surrounded by loads of beams and stuff. The best combination of being able to rip a structure apart without actually doing so, and seeing if something works for reals. It makes chronicling builds much easier too, because I will already have some of the concepts digitally available.
  23. That thing right there is A SUPERTIP
  24. Good job folks, you probably just KILLED AN IDEA.
