Each one of these sets so far has had about 2-3 builds that have really impressed me. The parrot and the Ghetto Blaster could be Creator polybag material - in fact the parrot is much better than 30472.

If we consider LEGO set design to be an artistic process, then I would imagine that criticism - when presented constructively - is as valuable to designers as it is to artists. You may think that you've been harsh in the past, but the fact that you have still received an impressive haul of swag shows that somebody at TLG considers your reviews to be fair.

Here's a quick list of "sponsorship names" that appear in a lot of racing-themed sets: Anwa Race Bit Box CellFISH DAR[X] ENgyne eRAV GIRBOX Head Protex Hevado Hill Suspensions KRN Powertools Nutrax Tyres NutyREZ Rusa Stinkwell Exhausts Turbo Oil XRFuel Yubi / Yubihama Zoto Spiik Zuruhai There are loads more, but I narrowed the list down to the ones that could sound like real companies or products.

I'm sure the sentiment is appreciated, but perhaps this is the catalyst which encourages our illustrious thread creator to investigate the numerous other subforums where particular topics would be better received.

Special Lego VIP Shopping Event 2015
Gnac replied to mediumsnowman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I got one of these cards recently, despite not spending a whole lot in-store or via S@H. I've been more engaged than usual with customer service queries and filling surveys, but ultimately the recipients might just be decided at random. For those in UK: No idea what sort of discount is applied to purchases - the terms and conditions link doesn't work. I'd really like to pop in and get a Crawler Crane, but money is notoriously tight at this time of year, so I might have to give it a miss. -
Text don't wrap with standard editor in Firefox
Gnac replied to Calabar's topic in Forum Information and Help
Sorry for the bump, but I've been meaning to look into this myself for a while, and I finally bothered. The problem stems from the use of the "pre" value for the white-space CSS attribute. The solution requires this rule: .cke_skin_ips textarea { white-space: pre-wrap !important; } This can be applied using an add-on such as Stylish or GreaseMonkey userscript (using GM_addStyle). EDIT: working example userscript -
Sort of related, but whose bright idea was it to put the moulding pips inside little craters on the front of a lot of panels, so that you are GUARANTEED to have an air bubble beneath any stickers which need to be applied? This is the sort of thing that would get someone demoted to the rank of "swamper" in most professions.

If only LEGO made parts where there were a load of studs all in a row... -
[KEY TOPIC] Official LEGO Sets made in LDD

The last of the seasonal things! Wew. I'm glad that next year's goodies appear to be animal builds again, because I hate finding replacements for minifig parts and prints. HATE IT. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 40124 - Winter Fun - theme: Seasonal Errors / notes: Part 17817 (Animal No. 17 - Deco No. 1) not available in LDD - replaced with a different durg Print for part 76382 (Mini Upper Part No "2274") not available in LDD - replaced with decoration 603752 Print for part 23094 (Mini Head "No. 1762") not available in LDD - replaced with decoration 601069 The handlebars on the snowmobile-esque thingy appear to make a connection with the rider's hands, but they don't. LXF (LDD 4.3.8) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 40125 - Santa's Visit - theme: Seasonal Errors / notes: Print for part 15828 (Flat Tile Round 1X1 "No. 18") not available in LDD - left blank Parts that would normally connect to [a previously missing part] are "floating". Will The Gnac ever be free of this terrible curse? Answer: YES! Print for part 16237 (Cat No. 2 "No.2") not available in LDD - left blank Print for part 76382 (Mini Upper Part No 2300) not available in LDD - replaced with decoration 601192 Print for part 13455 (Mini Head "No 1162") not available in LDD - replaced with decoration 601034 LXF (LDD 4.3.9 / b2075) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ...aaand that's probably the last thing I'll bother with this year, unless something else interesting disturbs my attempts at hibernation.- 5,046 replies

My LDD house has subsidence!
Gnac replied to quilkin's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
While building, it's worth remembering that the "grid" can be pushed down by placing bricks underneath what's already been built. This grid can also move if hinged pieces are rotated, even if it's by such a small amount that the effects don't show up until now. The only solution is to try and re-build the affected areas. The cracks are in the LXF. -
Cleaning LEGO "aggressively"
Gnac replied to miguev's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
There are two methods I use: Repeatedly dab the surface with some duct tape. It has some pretty angry stickiness that is effective for lifting up sticker gunge. If that doesn't work... Spray the gunge with some deodorant, about an inch away from the surface and wipe away immediately. The temperature drop caused by the aerosol seems to make the gunge less sticky (and leaves a pleasant smell). -

I fit into the leftover group of people who don't have a huge budget (and I only started collecting a while back anyway), so 42009 was a great way to address the lack of many things in my parts stash. My only concern with the set regards the copious amount of yellow dust that I found on the end-stop axles inside the carrier when I finally dismantled it. When builing, I made sure to wiggle every axle after sliding things onto them, to minimise points of friction on the geartrain. I may have actually played it too safe.

Looks like some of the parts from this.
