[COR-FB2] The Flask and Flagon (Port Raleigh)
Garmadon replied to CelesAurivern's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice build, and it's great to see an orderly eating establishment! The action is depicted here very well, and I like the gun rack and line of bottles and things on the wall behind the counter! It doesn't seem to actually detract too much here, but the build would look much cleaner if you could tile the floor and tables Oh, and as a general rule, overview pictures usually look better without the corners cut off!- 17 replies

[COR - Feb MRCA] Saved by Dark Lightning
Garmadon replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Definitely an improvement, the edit looks much cleaner now, and the studs improve the water a great deal! The circle on the pic looks very nice as well, although (though I do really like the skin on the pirate forums!), it's a pity in this case as the picture would look better if the post color was the same white. Not your fault though! -
[COR - Feb MRCA] Saved by Dark Lightning
Garmadon replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
It was you this time though! The spyglass is a good idea, but micros like this generally tend to look more real if they are slightly out of focus - not to mention the water and the landscape So we can disagree here just to please you -
[COR - Feb MRCA] Saved by Dark Lightning
Garmadon replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Don't need a Mod for that! Neat little micro ships Ayrlego, the forced perspective is pretty good, and I really like the lean you can get on the sails with that technique! For future forced perspective shots I would advise trying to get the foreground in focus instead though, and when you're editing a blue background in, a non-white backdrop to start with would take away the odd outline on your feather there -
Very nice ship Dr. Spock, and congrats on being the first one to post a ship with custom ratlines (you've beat me by a bit!) The cleanness of the ship is excellent as well, although I do agree with Bregir that a bit more of a curve on the sides would make it look better (at least to my taste!) Great job here though, I'll make sure to steer clear of this one (or place a few more guns on board )!

Very nice instruments and excellent headgear here Elostirion! Great entry and take on the minichallenge!

[ESL-FB] A young lawyer moves to the islands
Garmadon replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice house Captain Wolf, those large panels look fantastic here, and the roof turned out quite good as well! Lawyers could be in demand in the new colonies any time, so its good to see Eslandola on top of the game! It does kind of look like that costumer is the exact same guy who just rented him the house though... -
You've got a non-economic branch in the MAESTRO trade company? What madness is this? Nice, though a bit ramshakle, build, it certainly conveys a good idea of McEvan's idea of neatness I am kind of wondering what that precariously placed vial is meant to do? A couple of other things would be to try to get a shot from a tad lower down for the first pic, and to crop off some of the excess white on the top and bottom in all the pictures which I believe you could do even with the little edit thing on Flickr Nice job overall though! Upsized those pics for you and fixed the title as well

[Cor - FB2 March -Ship] A mysterious little boat
Garmadon replied to BrickOn's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
That thing is making me want to laugh every time I look at it! Very nice and hilarious chibi vessel, BrickOn, though I would hope she doesn't come into contact with any pirates with any decent aim, as she'd probably hit the clouds if she did! Great job here! -
[ESL - FB 1] The Ropemaker of Nova Terreli
Garmadon replied to kabel's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice build, kabel, great job addressing one of the biggest needs of a ship! Excellent foliage and landscaping as well, the rock ledge is an awesome addition there! -
[ESL - FB] A matter of mayor concern

[OL-FB1] KB's House in Breshaun
Garmadon replied to Capn Frank's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Beautiful little house Phred, the tan Tudoring is superb, and the interior is very nice as well! And who can not like dark blue roofs? Great job! -
Stupendous tree as usual, which is always the thing I look forward to when I see you've built something! (So I have no idea what to expect in that next one... ) Excellent landscaping and very nice story as well, my only real nitpick would be the odd angles of some of the pictures which could (maybe!) be solved by a little editing or by taking the pics from slightly different angles. If the problem is the size of the background though, well, I know that feeling too! Great job as usual!

Very nice ship and awesome raft, Franco Clarke, that would certainly be one of the most realistic-looking rafts I've ever seen in LEGO form! Great way to show what happened during a relatively uneventful MRCA run!
-
Neat build Vlad, the forced perspective is excellent, and the idea is great as well! My only comment would be that a mast coming out of the deck somewhere would make it look more like a ship (and as it is the ship would need to ve huge if what is shown is less than half the width of the thing!)
-
Very nice build Captain B, those monkey signs are hilarious, and the small building is great as well - the color-scheme and roof (though as a general rule I don't like unattached tiles, they do look very nice here!) are excellent! Approved (from the leadership)!

Very nice build Capt. Wolf, the musician's armament and suit are excellent, and that monkey is naturally a plus as well! -
East Trade Wind Company - General Discussion
Garmadon replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
25DBs to the first man (from any faction) to build a large (between 64 x 64 and 128 x 128 studs) oat or wheat plantation for the ETWC (the ETWC will licence it - and pay for the licence, obviously!) in the settlement of Pontelli before the end of the month! The first person to sign up for it either here or in the Eslandolan thread will get the reward once the plantation is built -

Aha, good to see this ship over here too! Great job with those lanteen sails and the rigging, and the tumblehome and stern are superb as well! Excellent work! -
Very funny (and appropriate! ) build Dr. Spock, as Kai mentioned, at least the animals really seem to appreciate the music!

[ESL - MTF] Is Gold an Instrument?
Garmadon replied to Legostone's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Beautiful pipe organ Legostone, the pipes look superb (using poles in front of the technic pieces was an excellent idea!), and of course using gold makes everything much better! Fantastic entry!
