  1. Great classical ship with a very nice crew! And, of course, monkeys are always great!
  2. I had a question that I thought of recently - I know a member can build a ship level upgrade build for their TC, but can one member build one that can be used to increase the limit of another member? As in, member X builds an MOC of his character giving Y a ship. Can Y use that as an increasing shiplimit build (assuming that X is ammenable to the idea and doesn't mean to licence it as some other kind of property, of course)? I´d think it should be possible, just wanted to make sure. Thanks!
  3. I'm with Ayrlego - very clever build and story to go along with it! The circle of sand/dirt around the fire is a great touch, and that's probably the best use of that large flame piece I've seen to date! Excellent work, mate
  4. NIce! - I particularly like the guy on the right here: the hands attached to the sword handles adds some great color there!
  5. That is quite a nice ship, Ayrlego - congrats!
  6. Thanks Bodi! This is my first time trying out the hinge brick technique for a ship, but it was a good thing I had some water there, because I definitely don't have all the openings figured out! Glad you like the jollyboat posing too - that was really fun! Thanks Elos!! Had to get some use out of all those 2x1 trans-clear bricks I had sitting around! Well, they'd better pull away fast then! I didn't feel like making the scene twice as big just to put them far enough away Thanks Kai! Thanks Prof, glad you like it! Maybe they were just so bored with boring trade runs that anything else was exciting for a change! Thanks Mike! Thanks Capt Wolf! Trans-clear is really amazingly versatile - so many shades of color and kinds of waves and waterfalls with just the few different kinds of pieces available (not a few pieces, though! ) Glad to hear you say so - thanks again!
  7. Neat little vig, Kwatchi! A very well-stocked cabin, and that non-90 degree angle in the wall adds a lot to the feel Your Mardierian outfit looks great on Mr. Frenetti too, and I'm looking forward to the results of these next couple of MRCAs!
  8. My man - you deserve a good clap on the back for that one! Must say, I absolutely love the reverse engineering you were going for here! Unfortunately for you (in the present case, at least ), I'm not in leadership anymore, but personally I'm fine with this - obviously we'll interpret it as a bunch of WTC rabblerousers trying to mess with our politics (you might get the WTC into a bit of IC trouble with Esl though ), which, obviously, is what it actually is It's not like you tried to blow half of Weelond to bits and pieces or anything. We probably would have fallen for your backwards engineering too if Eslandolan politics weren't so raveled that we'd outsmarted you already To be short - as a general rule (IMHO, this is, of course), if you are messing with other members' characters or building or towns themselves, of course, you should ask them first; but if you want to build a WTC wooden blacksmith's shop in Pontelli and then burn it down right away, that's fine (you can't burn down the my house right next to it without my permission though, of course!) as long as you're quite willing to take whatever IC reaction the ETWC might impose upon you (fire escapes and ready water in all your houses in ETWC settlements from here on out). So these characters protesting here are your creation so they may do as they like if they don't hurt anybody else's anything, but since you made them Eslandolan, we can hang 'em all if we like (thankfully, we're openminded folk ). (Note that they are your characters, so we couldn't just kill them without your permission. They'd just be held accountable to ESL law like all other Eslandolans - we'd probably have a talk and find out something to do with them if we wanted to retaliate). Fact is, it makes it easier and more fun both for leadership and members if we do our best not to be stricter than necessary. So, for instance, I'm fine with MKJ's monkey court stuff (though obviously he's threading a thinner line here with official Corrie characters in supposed government positions), but if I was a Corrie I'd have that judge fined and kicked out to the Sea Rats when he's done with him Still, when it's a close thing, I'd obviously advocate asking first if possible/sensible in the circumstances. Well, there you've got my couple o' doubloons. Do remember they ain't officially worth much unless the others agree as I'm not actually a faction leader anymore!
  9. Really nice little scene, Cub - as others have said, the vegetation and palm tree are quite good, and the blur and spear with the skull give a neat tense feeling to the build! Looking forward to seeing the savages where this goes!
  10. Those are some really neat instruments there mate, especially the string base/cello! Very good scene overall too, the table lower down is well covered! And you can't go far wrong with dark brown!
  11. The waves crashed and roared, and the heavy smoke of the combat still hung low in the atmosphere, as the sinking Shuriken, torn and splintered by the iron rain it had just received, sent its bow high up into the air. Captain Gryple took one last glance at his ship as the waves seemed to leap up greedily to swallow their prize, and looked away, while the musketeer still kept up a scattering fire after the victorious pirates. Ever since Captain Whiffo had taken possession of the Shooting Shuriken from the Monezterrel shipyards in name of the ETWC, Captain Gryple had been in command and had turned over some good profit for the company in his work. But now, on what was likely its most important voyage yet, the ETWC ship had found itself set upon in the vicinity of Terraversa by the infamous pirate captain Unrigged Nordau, who had fired upon the ship with such hot haste that in almost less than ten minutes there was nothing of the wreck remaining, except a few loose pieces of wreckage and the jollyboat with the crew floating on the rolling ocean. Captain Gryple frowned, and turned the boat's head towards Kings Port... Couldn't pass up a good sinking! My MRCA result build from... the MRCA before the last, if I'm correct (I'll just be submitting it as a freebuild, anyways). This is pretty obviously what I was supposed to be building when the Midnight's Mist happened, but two is better than one, you know! And yes, I do know that the sails are annoyingly blocky - I wish I could have done better with those, but really wanted to include the dark green sails of the original ship, and didn't have any other material to make them with than the brick! Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome as always!
  12. Thanks Blackdeath! Steal away as much as you like! I'm planning on using him as my explorer for Challenge I here, so we should be seeing more of him pretty soon! I've been wanting a gun-heavy ship to licence for a while - now I just need someone to get into a feud with or something! This was my first go at almost entirely LEGO rigging (only the thinner string sewed onto the sails isn't LEGO), and the hull was definitely inspired by some of the other great designs on these seas (particularly some of Legostone's work). Thanks mate! Yep, thanks Capt Wolf! As it happened I had just got a free ship space opened up, so this was pretty good timing! As to the captain - I hope to deliver!
  13. I'm still around too, though I haven't had the chance to build for the Guilds much lately. I do have a storyline going that I started fairly recently too, and have a good bit more planned for, but I'm not sure when I'll get the time to actually concentrate on it for a bit... And, of course, I'm a Mitgardian through and through! I have been building quite a bit for the Brethren of the Brick Seas recently, though, and have another build for that in the works right now. I do mean to do my best to get an entry or two in for the Safe Haven challenge, though! @KevinyWu, that Wip's looking quite promising! The rock arch is great (rock arches always are ), and I quite like your technique for slanting the sides of the ship. Looking forward to seeing it finished!
  14. This is another nice vig here - that spreading tree works very well, and I like the stone wall too; that little curve adds so much! I can't say I can blame Nakny for not being overly enthused with his job, though If I had a critique, it'd probably be that the border's got those two different designs going there, which looks a bit odd in such a small setting - I see you were trying to get the Mitgardian colors in there ( ), but I'd probably just pick either the tiles or the slopes and run with it the whole way (you'd probably still need a brick on the corner though, of course, either way). And once again, welcome to the Guilds! I'm looking forward to more AoM builds from you! (I should really get around to working on some more of those myself here sometime soon!)
  15. Welcome to the coolest Guild, Stad! Neat little backstory, and great choice of a location to work with - I don't think we've had many builds there, though it sounds like an intriguing place! Your sig-fig's picture isn't working for me, though (seems like you may have set it to private on Flickr after posting it here?) Looks good judging from your other vigs, however!
  16. Nicely done, the jutting rockwork looks neat, and the posing is very good too Great little vig and story!
  17. Looks nice, FG, the rig seems good to me! It does look almost like the mast is tilting back just a tad - if you could manage to make the bowsprit just a tiny bit longer it'd pull that forward and tighten your aft lines as well. Even overlooking the rig, the rest of the ship is excellent though - really liking the added details of the lanterns, the net, and hatch! Looking forward to seeing it finished!
  18. Very true... ! Thanks Kwatchi - only problem is that I've no more of an idea about what's up with the Captain than anyone else Thanks Prof! Thanks Kai - yep, that flex tube worked quite nicely! You don't need a big cabin when you've got the whole ship to yourself!
  19. A new build ship from me! Kind of an accident, actually - at least, a totally unpremeditated build! Check out the topic here!
  20. Little was known about the strange, quiet, mysterious fellow who had dropped in to the Port Wilks inn one day - but that little could be summarized in this: He always wore black, used a black sword, sailed a black ship, and wore his black hat at a bit of a tilt. To be sure, there was a little dark brown thrown in here and there, but that didn't always make it in to all the rumors and whispers about the fellow. (A shot of the ship's bow:) All that was know about his own and his vessel's past or future was that the ship was of Terraversan make, was christened the Midnight's Mist, and was impressively armed, and that he had dropped some hints of picking up a crew in Garvey's Freeport and of heading over to take part in the Corry expedition into the inland of Celestia after that. That he is a daring and well-armed pirate-hunter and explorer is accordingly the most popular rumor afloat in Port Wilks at the moment. To be short, all in all, he was quite the enigmatic stranger, and was as likely as not to keep the whispers and rumors going for quite some time - in fact, he really seemed to rather enjoy them... A small ship which got built quite unpremeditatedly, haha! I was busy working on a different scene of a sinking ship (also for BoBS, and I hope to actually build that one soon! ), and then got to liking the ship and tweaking it repeatedly until I got to liking it enough that I didn't feel like sinking it at all and it didn't really resemble the other one much anymore either, so here's the result - the Midnight's Mist: As usual, I couldn't resist the urge to get a little interior in there somewhere! A few other shots: Broadside: Stern: Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome as always!
  21. Awesome new sigfig, Khorne, you've really got a knack for great minifig combos! Very nice work with that dock scene as well - I especially like the SNOTted side, and guards wrapped up in their cloaks. I have to say, I'm very glad to see Garvey getting some attention too; I've always thought it's a little nation with some really nice potential (got something involving them somewhat in the works myself just now, actually! ) For photography, I still take my pictures outside in the shade (best on a cloudy day for good diffused light!), so I really can't give much advice for indoor photography (never turns out too well when I'm forced to it). Whatever you did for the first closeup shot works nicely, though!
  22. Wow - really awesome work with this island castle. Those long bridges and the water are gorgeous, and the lighthouse, stonework, and Tudor are all quite nice as well! The interiors are a great addition too, but it is the cave with the trading storage that really stands out! A very impressive start to your GoH MOCs - looking forward to more to come from you!
  23. Like I said on Flickr - fabulous rockwork, mate! The nest and the dark green are great as well, and I'm really liking that dragon (those wings are perfect here!) Really nice work, SK!
  24. Nice! The lavender and sand green work surprisingly well together, and the plants/garden and vine covered porch are splendid additions! Perfect place to put the sign up there as well, and I'm looking forward to this expedition! Which reminds me - I really should get started on my own entries to this pretty soon here!
  25. Thanks Silentwolf, glad to hear you've been enjoying the story so far! Much more of that to come, I hope! Yep, ha, ha! Well, they did actually tilt back like that a bit, you know, and I assure you it is attached there pretty firmly! The water and telescope seem to have really been the hit here! Thanks a lot, mate! And yes, that did work out quite nicely - I must admit, I did have to sit around a couple of days to try to get some nice clouds, though I'm just glad it didn't start raining on me for my pains
