Settlement: Port Wilks, Isla Phillipe, Eslandola
Garmadon replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Glad you like it! It just so happened that Eslandola got this island at a point in time when they were happy to get a poke in at their blue neighbors- 5 replies

[COR - Nov FB] Lighthouse and Pilot's Station, Jameston
Garmadon replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Really nice lighthouse, Ayrlego, the offsets and slopes look great (as do those light tan masonry bricks!) The water is quite nicely done too And that's a neat edit too, Kai! Not sure you had to take the computer all morning to do it, though Jk...- 12 replies

One Eye, Four Islands: A Yureishima Saga (CH.1-PT. 2)
Garmadon replied to mccoyed's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nicely done! I really like that roof, especially what you've done with the edges, and the landscape is great as well I agree with you that the sliding door is a bit bulky, but it's a neat additional playfeature anyways!- 10 replies

[MRCA result] Cornelius Reyngout, RIP
Garmadon replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The offsets on that building are great, Capt, and I really like the ridges you've got at the top of each story as well! The colors (what color is that, exactly, though?) and those white windows really fit your Weelond style perfectly too - nice job! That's too bad about the Prince Fernando, though -
Thanks Capt! Yes, dark green and brown (especially if you can throw some dark brown in there two) pretty much is always great! Glad you like them, and I've got plans for that fellow! Thanks, I'll do my best to keep on building up the settlement! Thanks mate, glad the chairbacks seem to have worked - I've got enough of those that you'll almost certainly be seeing those again! Actually, the tables are just tall enough that the tiled chairs do slide under them nicely (but the ones with studs and figs on them don't, of course!) The front two chairs are tucked in there in this picture, for instance: It is true that the center of the tables do prevent them from being pushed in all the way, though - I'll look into seeing if I can fix that next time I use them! Feel free! I'd love to see it showing up in a build from you! Thanks Puvel, glad you like it! Ha, ha, thanks! I'm sure you will - Kai's having an awesome camera certainly helps with that! Well, actually, it was a coincidence, as Drunknok mentioned - I hadn't thought of that Could be though, I suppose! Who can say no to a nice ETWC inn?

The Riverside Palace in Londa, Mardier
Garmadon replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
What he said Just gorgeous micro, KB! - the architecture is fantastic, and the layout is really well-thought out too! And like the others, I'm digging that star shape you've added around it! All around spectacular job - and I would be amiss not to mention that beautiful water and the ship there! In fact, I may just have to copy your design there pretty soon myself You know, seeing builds like this for Mardier almost makes me sorry we went out and crushed them... almost- 26 replies

Great colors on this one, Phred - looks quite suitable to be transporting high officials around Oleon! Those sails and the lanterns out back look great as well, and I can't miss mentioning the awesome playability you've got here!

Thanks all! Thanks Professor! As a general rule, the more curves and angles, the merrier! Thanks Kai, glad you like them, and I'm happy the chairs turned out fairly well in the pics! Had to get the island's signature pigs in there somewhere, you know! It's hard to go wrong with dark green - except when it comes to not having enough of it! I was hoping to be able to build it up to where I could get more of a second story in, but the dark green collection was starting to really run dry Minifigure posing and story-telling is a lot of fun (though it makes photography take quite a bit longer ), and I love getting those stairs in wherever I can manage it Thanks mate! And Thanks mate! It took me quite a while to come up with a window design I liked here, but you'll probably be seeing more of this design from me now! I figured an All-LEGO interior scene would be a neat challenge - and in some ways easier than an outdoor one too! - and I'm glad you like it! Thanks again! Oh, and here's that shot of the full build - or rather, the closest thing to the full build that I've got (only a tiny bit on each side isn't in the picture): Now that I think of it, I don't think much of that balcony really made it into the pics at all - I need to get a bit more dark green! Thanks Bodi, glad you've enjoyed it! I hope to be getting out more of the story soon! Thanks a lot, Ayrlego! The size and shape of this was actually inspired by my brother's exterior All-LEGO scene, which got me thinking to do something somewhat similar with an interior scene - rather long and low, and with a good deal of depth of perspective. And yes, I was liking that stranger too - I think we'll be seeing more of that odd fellow sometime or another! Glad you like it, I'll do my best to deliver! You know I can't miss out on any chance to get that monkey in there - especially not in the first build of a new ETWC settlement! Thanks mate! I needed a chair design that I could multiply a good number of times, so I had been keeping my eye on those window pieces to see if I could get to use them in there! And you can blame Kai for that lamp being there - she insisted on my getting some interior lighting That part was from the good old Medieval Market Village Thanks Titus! Looking forward to what you've got up your sleeves as well! Well then, I'd better get to building that next chapter...

Very nice build and beautiful map, Mc! Yep, the Safe Haven challenge got extended, so I'd definitely enter this if I were you You've really done a nice job capturing the Japanese-ish feel here, and the water is excellent as well! Looking forward to seeing more in this theme from you!- 10 replies

Settlement: Port Wilks, Isla Phillipe, Eslandola

First build for Port Wilks - a Large Artisan, the Dark Green Inn. Also, the settlement now as a Mayor and the island has a Governor, J. Guyiere Wilkinson de Chauncourtois, younger brother to the ETWC's leader, E. T. Wilkinson... de Chauncourtois.- 5 replies

Dark Green Inn, Port Wilks... Myles Bowditch leaned back comfortably in his seat. The Fog Breaker had just dropped in at the ETWC's new settlement of Port Wilks earlier that day, and was now riding at anchor in the harbor, though Myles was hoping to be back out and continuing his trade run to Weelond with the morning tide. The Winged Shield Inn, or Dark Green Inn, as those that stopped by often expressively called it, was one of the first buildings to be built in the settlement, and was certainly quite well-frequented by those that had settled there and sailors who stopped in at the port. It was a capital place either to get a good meal or to find a comfortable bed for the night. Myles was just getting on to the end of his meal when a commotion was heard outside, the door burst open... And Captain Whiffo strode in, looking and sounding very much like his usual self. Expectant glances and a few winks passed around the room. Whenever Captain Whiffo strode in to such a place, one could be sure of a good, adventure-filled tale before the night was out. He stepped up to the counter. "Your largest glass of chocolate, mate," he whispered to the master, who winked back at the well-known Captain. Then Captain Whiffo turned around, and, spotting Myles sitting at the table by himself, pulled up a small stool and joined him. "How do you do, my dear Captain?" Myles inquired. "Quite well, mate, quite well," replied Captain Whiffo, but grinning over mysteriously at the same time. Just then, an old acquaintance of the Captain's caught sight of him, and, waving, stepped on over. "Why good day there, my old Captain Whiffo!" exclaimed his ex-first mate from many a year ago - "It's been far too long since I've caught the sight o' you! How goes it?" The master of the house came up and handed the Captain a large tankard of hot chocolate, and, seeing that the Captain was about to begin a tale of some sort or another, stayed by to listen. "Oh! I've been through quite the lot of it since I've last had you in my deadlights, mate!" exclaimed the Captain. "I tell ye, it's a long, thrilling tale of adventure, duels, piratical villains, and rivaling trade companies from the beginning to end!" A bit of a crowd by now had gathered around the little group - and even the strange fellow over in the corner who Myles had noticed earlier perked up and looked attentive. "Well then," began the Captain mysteriously, taking a draught of his chocolate and placing the tankard back down on the table, "here goes for the tale of Captain Whiffo's Duel..." To be continued... A few more pics: The counter: A closeup of one side: The waiter: And a final overview: Well! I've had this build in the works for quite a while (and this storyline planned for even longer!), and I hope it's been worth the wait! I figured that a large inn would be a good place to start for any settlement, and since my duel with TitusV was supposed to have happened quite some time ago (back in March, or thereabouts), I thought it would be a good idea to play it out as a story from the Captain instead of as if it was happening at the moment. Titus and I (especially me ) have got a whole storyline to roll out here in the next few... months? ... so keep your eyes peeled for the next few sections, hopefully to come soon! Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome as always!

[AMCRA - Puvel] Exploring Fiorentia (The Island of Flowers)
Garmadon replied to Puvel's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
You, my dear sir, are really the master of lime green! Love the colors on these builds, and the activity is really well done too! Great job with the vegetation also - really looking forward to watching as you uncover more and more of this island! -
[COR-AMRCA] Mokolei Expedition
Garmadon replied to Lord Buckethead's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice work with these builds, folks! Lord Bucket's lighthouse is really excellent (that colorscheme always works well, especially for that subject matter), and I really like the curved roof on Bregir's - and the fig posing, too The map is quite neat as well, and Ayrlego's build just nails the mid-Eastern vibe. Very well done, all! -
[Sistershipping] Where are the plans?!
Garmadon replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nicely done, Capt! We've had some good stories to go along with BoBS paperwork before, but this is definitely one of my favorites! That micro xebec is excellent as well - glad to hear the real one will be getting a new lease on life -
Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Garmadon replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice work so far, Spud - the curve of the side is really well done, and I think my only piece of advice at the moment would be to make the side galleries of the cabin stick out/curve more than at the moment as it looks a bit flat back there. Not sure exactly what the best way to do that would be, though! I've been asked a few times for a cannon tutorial of the design I usually use (not sure exactly how original it is, though - if I recall correctly, it's basically a mix of a few other designs I'd seen before), so I figured this would be as good a place for it as any other (also posted it in the Artillery index too)! Check out the whole process in the spoiler (probably way more detailed than it has to be )! And here's an example of the design in a build: There's lots of good cannon designs out there, but I hope this might help out for those who are looking for a handy design! -
Hello there! Here's the cannon design which I usually use - not sure just how original it is (I'm pretty sure it's some kind of combination of a few different designs I'd seen before), but it's not here yet, so! Parts list: 2x 3062b (alternately 1 for a shorter barrel) 1x 62462 1x 6628 1x 4070 1x 3070b 2x 4865b 4x 4265c 2x 2540 Assembled: And for minifigure size comparison (I hope it isn't too artistic ): Or if this is better:

The Cocovia Wagonway: Wooden Bridge

Loving that cutaway terrain, Elos, and the wooden bridge in the works looks very good as well! Those fishermen are a great addition too! -
That dome! Just fantastically incorporated in this building, Maxim, and it really makes the build and sells the Arabic-type feel too! Very nicely done!

[SR - FB 3 Nov 2017] It's all about expertise
Garmadon replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nicely done, Professor! Those contraptions look great, and you've nailed the colors and activity too - even that dock is fantastic! Of course, Captain Whiffo doesn't agree with the building of the factory, being a tea-totaller, but I will second Elostirion about the improvement in your building skills!- 17 replies

Loving that cobblestone street, Elos! I never would have thought that'd work so well - but I suppose it helps that I don't have even one 1x1 tile in that color, so it never even occurred to me Those buildings and the figs are very nice too - and that statue Great to see Mardier getting some love! I did not just say that

[COR] A fountain for Elizabethville
Garmadon replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice work with this little build, Drunknok! The flowers and layout are very tastefully done, and the fountain is quite neat too A very innovative way to increase the settlement's funds!
