  1. I love the ladder on the side to access the top. Very nice off road RV.
  2. Very detailed build and I like the concept of a florist as none of the layouts that I participate has one of these, yet. I also like the extended rear of the MOC to give you room to decorate the "back yard" for what ever occasion that is on the horizon. Good Job!
  3. That was my exact thought as well. I can see these as a sets in 2016. Great work on the concept.
  4. Nice use of foliage to reproduce the look of the real facade. Also, I love the use of the profile bricks to create the roof! Great work.
  5. I like the "retro" vibe of this layout. A lot of us work way too hard to take away the essence of Lego in our builds while you have done a great job at capturing that feel. Nice Job!
  6. That is going to look very nice in GFLUG's skyline! It will go well with Skypoint Building and compliment its colors well. Great work and I can't wait to see this when it hits the layout. I guess that will be when I catch up with GFLUG next summer at BrickFair VA. It was a lot of fun sharing the layout with your team this year.
  7. Nice Use of the light yellow bricks. I really like the detail inside the building. Great Work!
  8. I have not seen any Simpson House alternate builds yet, but I would love to see your concept brought to life. And other than a handful of Springfield MOCs, I have not seen a lot from the community around this theme. Best of luck with your MOC.
  9. Lot's of really nice details! Great job on the color scheme.
  10. I voted for this. Great work!
  11. And don't forget a bunch of us are still waiting on ExoSuits to get the green space suits. I agree the clues are there for a reboot, but we are not going to get a full release of Classic Space. We will continue to get a lot of throwbacks because this is a sub-theme that formed a major part of the fabric that makes up Lego today. AFOLs will purchase these sets for their children to have in their collections, but the children want Star Wars.
  12. Superb! I love the look of the unmaintained sidewalk and the overgrown foliage.
  13. That is so cute. A train like that would also look nice in a park scene.
  14. Very nice work. The detail on the railings is amazing. I also have been looking into doing a New Orleans style building, but I am worried that it will not fit into our town layout well.
  15. Thanks and yes, it displayed very well with the PennLUG layout, but that was due to the fine skill of KC Ross and Rob Bender in bringing the scene to life with the minifigs and the bank heist. For those that want to see the pictures that I took of their display, they can be found at this link. Please, don't think that your ideas for building this wonderful facade into a modular building are any less than this. Build the concept that is in your heart and tweak away until you have the perfect structure for your layout. When I started building the Juicebar MOC, the clouds were not part of the original concept, but I needed the texture on the front to make the facade pop from the rest of the building. Then the pearl gold trim came about as the tan that I originally built looked flat and the original color white scheme on the top just was not visible. Best of luck in your MOC building and share it here for all of us to see.
  16. Nice work on the trailers. The back one would look nice attached to the tractor by itself.
  17. Really Nice. The size of the building reminds me of my youth when Mom would take me to the grocery after visiting the produce market and the butcher. Wonderful days prior to the onslaught of super sized stores invading out communities and putting all the local business out.
  18. Thanks everyone for the compliments. I am pleased to say this is the first modular that I have built that comes apart in floors and has an interior for the use use on layouts that move from event to event and it really held up well in car on the 3+ hour journey to and from Chantilly, VA. I used twice as many studs to hold the floors together than you would find on a standard lego modular and the reinforced base worked very well to hold all the interior parts in place. Now, time to look for flooring to complete the upstairs and get the interior ready for the photo shoot.
  19. Here is the Juice Bar hanging out in the wild and in its natural element at BrickFair VA. BFVA has been a blast and I will have many more pictures from the event on my Flickr stream. Also, this is the main reason why the upstairs of the interior has not been completed. Sad part is the 1950's era pink toilet will not get replaced with the upstairs structural rehab in the coming weeks. Many thanks to KC Ross (aka Creative Snail in many AFOL forums), Rob Bender, and Cale Leiphart for letting me join their layout this weekend at BFVA. Also, a special thanks to Todd Webb and the rest of the BFVA team that helped us with this wonderful convention and a very pleasing set of public days.
  20. This was one of the more fun modular builds that I have done. I thought this set was more challenging to build than the Grand Emporium or even the Town Hall. That being said, I have not built the Palace Theater or the Parisian Restaurant so they may be more of a challenge when I get to them. And I am not sure if this is true out side the US, but here in the states, the Fire Brigade has still not been marked as retired by Lego on their Shop at Home site. Could we still see another run of these in the future hit the web store or even our physical stores? Who knows, but the Grand Emporium has got another reprieve and another run is scheduled for the US at the end of September.
  21. I like the beefy style of your ship and the patch work style does indeed give it that well used look. Good work and I look forward to seeing more.
  22. The colors are amazing. Great work and spectacular layout!
  23. Thanks! Hopefully, I can get video of the walking action while I am at BrickFair this week. With my latest tuneup and the addition of a "quarter bushing" on the pinion gears, It should scoot across the floor at a pretty good clip. And it should easily handle the weight of having both ships attached to the walking unit with a full charge on the batteries. This also means I have crossed over to the "dark side" and now modify molded parts to make them work in Technic setups. That is what happens when you spend too much time around train guys.
