  1. The wheel for the pot is very nice and the use of the gate for the rack looks very good. Nice work!
  2. This looks very similar to the older, single bay firehouse that hold 3 trucks in a single line in Philly. Very Nice Work.
  3. Very Nice MOC. Ferris Bueller was my favorite movie of that era and this MOC captures that scene so well. Great work!
  4. The PennLUG layout has a town section, Jersey Shore area of beach, country that resembles PA Dutch farmlands, a train yard, and this year, some wooded suburb areas. Past years have included a vineyard as well as other nice country scenes. Pictures of their layouts from various events over the years can be found at this link. https://www.flickr.com/groups/pennlug/
  5. Very nice build and it does look like the pictures of hospitals that I have seen from the 1920s and 1930s in the Ohio Valley. Good detail on the inside with the entrance and the general ward looks nice as well. Great job!
  6. Very nice detail! The detail around the console is great.
  7. For my Modular building MOCs they usually have a period of modification of 1 month to 6 weeks after I complete the original build to get the building to look the way I want and get the particular color parts that I need from Bricklink stores and the like. As far as my Space MOCs, some of those I built over a year ago and I still find ways to make improvements to them based on improvements in my building skills or weak points found in the MOC after an AFOL con. Even my latest MOC which I will debut in a "beta" form at Philly BrickFest next weekend will not be ready for its 1.0 release until the display that we will have at PhilCon in November. Seems I have an issue with the way I setup my motor on my first locomotive so I will have to rebuild this MOC to make it more robust for future shows. But, I am not going to miss a chance to show off the work that is finished even though the battle hardend, show ready version wont be ready for another 8 weeks. Being this is my first train MOC, I am not sure how far the rework stage will continue, but I estimate a minor rework of this piece after each event just to make sure the parts and mechanicals are in good shape. So this one will need love on a regular basis as long as it is being used for events which is typical of my PowerFunction based creations. I hope this long winded explanation of my method helps you out in some way. But at least it was better than saying "It depends" and leaving it up to your imagination.
  8. Very good job in capturing the essence of the AE86 Corolla. Also the details in the building are fabulous. In all, this does a great job at conveying the story.
  9. Every Modular needs a ceiling fan. I even installed them on my latest MOC and it was based on a Friends concept.
  10. I love it! You put SNOT on a horse. Brilliant! I love the level of detail in the MOCs and this was a favorite Stephen King story of mine. Keep up the great work.
  11. The Green Hornet is an amazing build and would go well with the Monster Fighters line or even the new Ultra Agents 2. There are way too many possibilities on the types of worlds you could build around any of these MOCs because they are that awesome. Great Work.
  12. Nice build. It is a shame that it cannot be entered.
  13. WalMart lies about their "clearance" prices. They have a whole rack of Lego at my local store with red tags with full Lego MSRP printed on them.
  14. I know the 2013 LugBulk had some PowerFunctions available but I am not sure if it was the servo motor of the L-motor. There could have been other items but this triggered a memory because they were recently released power functions pieces.
  15. I am biting my tongue in this thread because the feedback that I get from the people that communicate with Lego is that their view of the community is less than positive at this time. Another item is that I have heard that Lego does not want to provide special "LUG Support" for train or town layouts. Now if we want to build a model that has a theme for a special event then we are enabled to get items for that event through the support team, but the lead time may be several months. With all of that out of the way, I don't see where the Community team is going to be able to help us with these type of issues.
  16. Great observation and this is so true. Using the standard Lego curve at 180 degrees of turn and a short straight of track (4 standard Lego straigts), my limit is 5 cars with a single PF motor. If I were using the long arch curves on the PennLUG layout then I could pull 10 cars with the less effort than the short train on the tight turned track.
  17. Many people in PennLUG build train bogeys with axles and wheels only. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?colorID=11&itemID=64731 http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?colorID=22&itemID=64732 Here is the Battendorf truck by Josh and documented by Cale on his Flickr.
  18. With one PF train motor, 5 brick built Lego train cars is the limit that I have found. I have pushed upwards to 6 in my experimentation, but found that the motor will time out in about 10 minutes of pulling.
  19. Very nice build as most of the stores in our layouts do not have this shape or scale. The detail on the front looks nice with the profile bricks and dark colors. The interior, although stocked like the South Philly WalMart which has a huge problem with thievery, looks nice. Great Work.
  20. Nice work. I like the color combinations and the overall size of each model. The eating area to the side of the tan building is a good detail that will look nice in a layout.
  21. I like the color scheme. This is very close to the colors I have picked for some new MOCs for the LUG's moonbase.
  22. The Eris Eagle Interceptor is my favorite space ship from 2013. The Kia Fighter from this Ninjago release is a favorite of many of my friends in the space community. And I was just looking at an "Artic" set think how I could make it into a moonbase module.
  23. I love the detail on the locomotive and how you use the lights to highlight the detail in the locomotive.
  24. Nice classic space model. Excellent detail.
  25. Very nice work. I love the Galaxy Squad orange team colors. I have not touched any of my Transformers in 28 years but as I remember, the arms on the plane models were a bit disproportionate to the body of the robots. Great Job!
