  1. 34. Ultra Racer My entry consists of a small (super) car based off 42022 which contains 414 parts. The parts provide a suitable selection perfect for building cars, however unlike the original set, the ultra racer has features seen in many large scale super cars. The intention was to make it look like a toy, hence the ariel at the back, replicating that of an RC car. Features - 2 Speed gearbox (red lever) - Pendular front axle - HoG steering (yellow lever) with working steering wheel - 2 Cylinder engine - Adjustable rear wing(s) More photos and information can be found here.
  2. At long last I've managed to upload my entry to the competition, the Ultra Racer. I used Lego 42022 Hotrod containing 414 pieces. Features - 2 Speed gearbox (red lever) - Pendular front axle - HoG steering (yellow lever) with working steering wheel - 2 Cylinder engine - Adjustable rear wing(s) Thanks for looking!
  3. I think the biggest problem isn't what makes a model eligible for the Hall of Fame, but the fact that people want to know why their models aren't in it. Yes the HoF is something that we should all aspire to, but it is not the be all and end all of MOCing. If you want a model to get into the HoF you need to build a MOC to the standard of those already in it, not try to bargain with the community justifying it's place. If a MOC is Hall of Fame worthy, no doubt it will end up in there.
  4. The steering uses a worm gear which meshes with a 24 tooth gear, giving the ratio of 24:1. Although this isn't the final gear ratio for the steering, there is enough time for Sheepo to get the wheels perfectly straight.
  5. The chassis were nearly identical on all VW's from the Beetle, to the buses, to the Type 3 variants. They all had the same main chassis components, and many parts are shared between chassis. VW's from the 60's are my favourite vehicles, I dream of owning a Split Screen. So to see these 2 cars made out of Lego, it blows my mind! My favourite of all of your super cars.
  6. I'm up for that! It should just give us that start that we need, allowing us to make something really good.
  7. Why don't you use white 4L axles in the white trailer? In all serious though, these models are fantastic!!! I hope you continue making more of them!
  8. I posted this idea a couple of weeks back, however we vetoed the idea, as the torque need for the 24 tooth gear is too high to make the gearbox useable. If you can get it to work though I'll be very impressed!
  9. Sheepo uses an M Motor for steering in this one. I have no idea how he gets the wheels so straight, maybe it's down to the gearing?
  10. I have never built the gearbox, so this was more of a tat than anything. Could the concept work though?
  11. This is an idea I worked quite a while ago now, but I've never actually built it in real life. Could someone build the gearbox to see if it will work? The central axle is actually made up of two 4L axles. The spin independently as the grey connects is part number 62462. In this case, the gear ratios are 3:1, 1:1 and 1:3. The gearbox can be made more compact using this technique but this is just to show the concept.
  12. Wouldn't it be better to use one 12 tooth gear with a half bush on each side to make it inline with the 20 tooth gear?
  13. 8 : 5 9 : 3 19 : 2 21 : 3 26 : 2 29 : 5 A really great contest with a fantastic range of different entries. Thanks Jim!
  14. A little late but here is my promotional image!
  15. Sorry for the late reply Jim, but here it is. http://www.eurobrick...+offroad +trike
  16. 56. Offroad Trike MINI Offroad Trike Features - Steering - Rear Suspension - Single Cylinder Engine - 184 Parts http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=97880
  17. Here's my final entry for the MINI contest. I just need to wait for the parts to arrive before building the physical model. Functions - Rear Suspension - Steering - Single Cylinder Engine P.S. The wheel arches will look won't have a gap once the model is built.
  18. That looks like the part to me Bricktrain.
  19. Piterx is very good when it comes to body design. He was the first name that came to my mind. I think a big model would be too ambitious to start with, however a medium sized vehicle would be very nice.
  20. The idea of a modular build sounds best to me, where each person builds a different bit of the model. Could I already volunteer for rear axle?
  21. I'm definitely up for this, and have thought about posting an ideas like this before. I usually use LDD as well, so that could work out.
  22. Sorry I never got back to you. That gearbox looks far more reliable though, so it'll be best to stick with that.
  23. I was going to put a pair of rails beyond the front axle, similar to the rear. It will also allow me to mount the body more easily.
  24. My second version of the chassis, using less pieces, and looking a lot nicer.
  25. Oh wow! It can only be the E92 then?
