Brick Sorting Excavator
agrof replied to legomuppet9's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
What a coincidence! I was browsing yesterday, and found this through a very different soource, and today it pops up on EB from the past! The creator wrote, that LDD file will be available (2 years ago), does anyone have contact to him? As it seems, unfortunatelly it will never pass Ideas, but would be so awesome to build it! -

There are different kind of so called screeing machines, I think the B-model will be some kind of horizontal vibration screen type. I couldn't find a proper video, but You can get the basic idea from here: I am really looking forward this, looks like a piece of engineering! Based on the prelim and the final pictures, the B-model is indeed pretty much redesigned. -
[REVIEW] 42056 - Porsche 911 GT3 RS

@Jim: I am also happy with the new sets, and suprise: even with this new line called Ultimate. What I dislike is the way of communication, this is the sad part. If TLG follows this Forum, and will make their consequences, will able to handle their customers as Partners in a mature way... I am fine without a revoltion. -

@ Sariel: do/did You have the chance to discuss this whole story and issues during your visit in Billund? @Jim, ambassadors: is there a way/need to send an open letter or petition to TLG, regarding the misleading commuication? There is a lot contradictory statements in this story from Lego side. Bad choice of words need now some explaintations. Ultimate, sequential, replicating, Technic, etc. - These words have meaning in our dictionary. I remember the time, when it was an issue with 8043 excavator. They said: we did not experienced this in our trial period, but they did took under the loope again, and made the corrective action. It was a very sympathic and honest way to do, everyone was happy in the end. This spiritulity seems to lack here. Is this the new way: let's hope our customers will not notice (and I am sure, the majority will not), but IF they do, smile, stroke their head, and say: "Good Boy, nice job puppies!" ? It just does feel arrogant. You might think this is over reacted, but do we really want let our favorite Hobby to go further in this direction? Let's pull the brakes at the beginning. -

That ship is already sailed with that statement. They handle us customers as idiots, it is quite obvious, instead of taking the courage and take the responsibility. Exemplary behavior from a child toy factory, which kinda teaches our children... like this. From my side it is not a thing any more, which can be arranged with a nice smile. -

If it is not possible to do it 100% correct, than maybe LEGO should not go into this design AT ALL. Only the best is good enough - do You remember?? This whole statement is cheap, and clearly shows the moral level... for 300 Euros. Ultimate bullsh.... What would be with a simple: "Sorry, we made a mistake, but we do our best to bring a soltion asap." ? You could maybe earn some respect? I am not only very disappointed... I am angry. Edit: If it goes on looks, one can spend for scale Die-Cast models like Autoart this 300 bucks better. False targeting, false value, false MARKETING. -

http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/technic/-/media/franchises/technic%202014/codebreaker/unique%20downloads/wallpapers/ultimate_poster_1920x1080_6.jpg Really? I do apologise for this very premium content... TLG, are You serious? It looks like somebody on purpose started to bring down the quality of this ultimate package. Do You have some more level to disappoint? -
BMW E30 Build Thread
agrof replied to nicjasno's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I understood the meaning of the small tube (having seen The Lego Movie ). I mean the unmodified small turntable, with all the next parameters: vertical position, vertical forces probably with some offset, the considerable weight of the car, rotation. I also use silicon spray for wheel hubs at motorised models, it makes definitive a difference, at least eliminates the screech. Thanks for the answers, will follow this build. -

Thanks, now it looks innovative in a different way. I assume, You will use some kind of lubrication, as this kind of connection will generate a lot of friction. -

This +1 Can You give some description (and sorry if it was written already) or small video footage about the small turntable + axle combo? Do they attach to each other smmothly? Any issue, slack? Looks innovative, and great progress so far! -
[REVIEW] 42056 - Porsche 911 GT3 RS
agrof replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I read again the review, there is one thing missing. The details about one so-called feature - as it was even pointed out in the designer video: the luggage bag. Stickered calipers, but buildable suitcase. Really? Are the priorities correct in Technic? But seriously, after having all the impressions from different reviewers, I feel more disappointed. Not in the car, as it doesn't move anything in me, but in TLG. The whole thing feels rushed technically and in some looks details, despite the 3 years (??!!) effort made by professionals. I mean by people, who do this in 8 hours a day. I would be happy to hear the opinions from the other side, but I am afraid even if we get some... it will be rather political than straight. -

Excellent review, beautiful pictures, informative videos, with objective comments - in my opinion, and also very entertaining. Huge "Thank You" Jim. For me all in all, it is just a huge average set. The review IS ultimate. To the set: Looks good, unique, but I totally agree with the consequence: could have been better. This can be stated for most official sets, but for an Ultimate labeled one... well I consider this as a problem. What I don't really dig, how the mentioned issues were not discovered, especially as they stated the 3 years development period? Was there a push to put this model on shelves as it is (marketing department), or they just rely on the fact, that the majority of the buyers will not observe these on a shelf model, or... ? Whatever happened, Lego should sit down and re-consider this: -
Hello rm8! a huge Thank You for the geat effort for making this movie series, really entertaining, informative + high quality shots. Fantastic, respect for this! I hope we can see more in the future, Lego Off-Road chanel rulez. off: pity that the vk.com/technc_club turned into closed community, it was a good place / source to visit.

Ingenious use of the crane parts, and lovely presentation too! What would be the maximum lift of the legs - just thinking about rock crawler mech? -
Thanks for the info, I will still give a try, as those old tires are more rubber-like (material) as the new ones.

I was thinking the same... what about trolling a bit, and make a B model contest. Example: -
Absolutely no offense guys, I am also glad to see such things, but still feels like bending the rules of EB... I don't want to play moderator, and why not share such finds, but maybe in this topic? http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=101400 The Marble machine has literally technic pieces built-in (and still genious), that makes already some difference.
