[TC18] Wrong pickup
agrof replied to zux's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Feels like I am watching Fun with Flags with Mr. Sheldon Cooper. Maybe if you move the rear lights on the rear bumper, than they would help to blend the connectors better into the view. Just a guess. -

I am sold on the suspension, it is just ingenious! Maybe an idea to replace the #1 connectors to 2x4 liftarms (2-er side inwards), so the traversal arms would be fully rigid? -

Ups, indeed - sorry, I must refresh my memories. -
Good to see @Didumos69 in work again! As I feel, I must start to collect parts for this (I hope it will be released for the audience), looks very promising! Love the steering setup. One idea: if You want to keep the original look with the relatively high cab, might be an idea to put a spare wheel as HOG on the hood, instead of that "random" gear. In my head it could work well: hides the feature, while gives a bit spice to the character. Edit: one more thing, I see you use 44292 wheels, might be just by nostalgy or mistake, but it is not available in black.

I especially like the rasta hood, it adds a pinch of playfulness to the character. For the bed, I think the oldschool Ford Flairside style would match perfectly here: BTW, my favorite Matchbox, ever... -

So, test build went well, the statue is done. I am very happy with the result and with the design flow. Such a good experience, I really-really enjoyed it - thanks @Jim for the kick to start! No wheelies though... ~250 gramms, one pullback motor, but it looks damn good! I only had to increase the gauge by 1/2-1/2 studs, as the 49.5x20 tires could rub a bit the body - now it runs smoothly. The total width is now 15 studs, still within the limits. Some pictures about test build with 43.2x22 tires on the front, acceptable, but I believe the 43.2x14 will fit better. Tested other wheelset too, but I prefer the black one. As parts are missing, these are only work in progress pictures, exhausts, wheels, some missing colored parts will come later. Ah, and I added one more feature: now You can spin the engine freely from the cab, to kill the stress... or time. @Thirdwigg I finished the Building instructions too, CLICK HERE to download it. -

Nice one, maybe not 100% accurate, but I like all the features, especially the fly mode. -

I am so happy, that it indeed hit the nerves, thanks! @Thirdwigg You don't need the belly picture, first I will test build it (CAD pre-designs match ~90% the reality, some fine tuning is always needed), and paralell I am working on the building instructions. -

Thank You for the kind words everyone! I think the design can be freezed now, round 210 pcs. I created a digital sketch with photoshop, just to mimic famous car designers - and for the pure pleasure. -

Oh, yeah! I spent my childhood in a 601 estate... my parents crossed the Eastern side of Europe with it (3 kids in the trunk), good memories. Go Trabi, go! Edit: welcome btw, strong start. -

Yeah, as I wrote, it is not the intention to win, but to have fun. Actually my brain is so drained, I just want to think and live simple for a while now. -
Finally, I decided to join to the contest - though I am still on the fence, because I need to decide if I want to buy those small tires... but damn, those just fit here like a glove. I am more into small builds recently, this one is no exception. I know, this entry will not win the contest, but maybe will be able to steal some hearts. I just wanted to create a FUN build, which has good playability, and always wanted to play around with my pullback motors. This contest seems like the perfect opportunity due to the wheel and size limitation. Let's see the ingredients: Pullback motor Hot rod Dragster Oversized engine (it is fake, I mean fully) murdered out black, killer look realistic overall proportions (except the engine) Light, as possible Put it in the shaker, and here is the first sketch, I hope You like it. Size is: 27x14x10 studs, fairly small, as some of the real ones. So far 204 pcs, I'll try to keep it max 210 pcs with complete exhaust system. And hopefully it will be able to pull some wheelies, like this!

42108 Upgraded Carrier
agrof replied to M_longer's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Now we are talking! This is exactly, what the original model supposed have been - even though if it would cost a few Euro more... copy, LEGO? Thank You @M_longer for all effort, this set really deserved this upgrade! -
Update: the harder rear suspension bugged me, but there was too much sideways slack with the softer setup. Finally I found an easy way to keep the twist of the rear axle within acceptable limits. Here is a small patch, which provides much more satisfying suspension experience, of course to be done on both sides. Also it utilises the spring travel perfectly.

@amorti I am not aware of that, I think You mean rather Madoca. Nonetheless, I would not be angry, as I share my MOCs for free anyway (I believe in this community and in shared knowledge), and I am more realistic about copycat companies. Sooner (likely) or later they will get what they want, it is inevitable in the age of internet. Still it is very-very sad, that MOCers like You and me are misused so disgracefully, some are even scared away from the hobby due to that. Not to mention the big picture, as mentioned above. My opinion relies on personal decision to be more attentive how I live (in general), what impact I do - both on environment and humans. We are sharing the opinions here to give different point of views, which I think is beneficial for all of us. We shall not forget to remember time to time: never go full retard.

Sorry, but this is stupid... just think a bit about it: would you really support companies (in general), who use children labor, misuse employee and environment, just because than people in the first world can stock up luxury stuff for affordable price? Few examples: mobile phones, electronic products, toys, clothes, You name it... In return we destroy our community and living place. We all have personal responsibilities, what better times than now to realize: we must re-evaluate our consumption, preferences, behavior, empathy. Speaking of metal universal joints: there is several available in RC market, which can be adopted in LEGO - no reason to support pirate companies.

@mpj It looks gorgeous, the chrome adds really some spice to it. I am one for the stickers too, they do add a lot to reality! Go for stickers! -
Buwizz and Sbrick are stand alone developments from the idea to the shelf product, thus they are respectable, true products, which deserve the acknowledgement. L...Mould King remains, what they were: unprincipled thieves. Each cent spent for them, supports only stealing, black market, employee misusage, environment pollution, etc. Imagine some, who is proudly stealing toys (toys!!), what kind of personalities have, and what other activities this attitude is involved in.

agrof replied to kodlovag's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I recommend some post-production on the renders, I found some lightning settings make huge increasement in the quality. I am with You, building in LDD is still easier (I still use it in first place), but all the other features speak for Stud.io. The car looks really cool!
