  1. Lone Ranger is due April 1st??? I thought it was May... Maybe we should wait on those, the movie might bomb and then we can get them in the discount bin? I'm not up on my movies like I used to be but if Johnny Depp is in it it'll most certainly do well, won't it? Joe
  2. That's an excellent piece of work. I particularly like the color of the building facade. Thanks for sharing, Joe
  3. You did an extremely excellent job there and that would be a proud centerpiece of anyone's collection. Personally, I would have made it a little smaller (knock off one floor and put the building on a 32x32) so that it would fit with the official modulars but who could knock you for thinking big! It's a shame that the original building is no longer there but maybe it's understandable, the Central MTR station is huge. It's like a whole d@mn city down there underneath the pavement. Thanks for sharing, Joe
  4. It's great, I like it a lot! Joe
  5. You could also get a job with Lego? Joe
  6. Really cool and thanks for sharing! Joe
  7. Ha ha, I used to be a pretty hard-core railfan. There wasn't much railway-related knowledge that I didn't know when it came to ol' Saint Lou. I guess that's somewhat of an accomplishment as it's the USA's third largest rail hub with an interesting mix of eastern and western lines and the TRRA to link them all together. Joe
  8. Love your engines, thanks for sharing. The bigger Diesel shunter/MOW engine looks great to me, why aren't you happy with it? Maybe it needs some grills on the front? A decal or two would make a world of difference. Joe
  9. Looks great, thanks for sharing. I'm looking forward to seeing the turntable and shed. Joe
  10. That's a nice one! The word 'Glencoe' sounds very familiar to me. Is that the name of the village that has that model train you can ride on (sorry but I forget the terminology) in far west St. Louis county? Joe
  11. Suberb, thanks for sharing! Joe
  12. Lego is pretty expensive here in China, double US prices. I guess I could afford it but cannot justify spending so much on it. I was at a Lego shop today with my little boy, drooling over the trains, etc. It's kinda weird; I've been buying a lot of Lego from Amazon US during sales and having them sent to my Mom's house there as we're hoping to relocate. We'll be in Lego heaven when we get there! Here in China we've mostly just got Duplo for our son. Anyway, I have been dabbling with 'the dark side' as it's very reasonably priced here in the Middle Kingdom and some of it is ok but, as has been pointed out; this isn't really the proper forum to discuss it. 13. Really cool, thanks for sharing! Joe
  14. Really nice, thanks for sharing! Joe
  15. Really beautiful, thanks for sharing! Joe
  16. How about Atlantis Red?
  17. Looks great, thanks for sharing! It's too bad Alien Conquest only got one wave, it's an excellent one IMO. Joe
  18. I'm pretty sure Lego directly copied Kiddiecraft's bricks and sold them in countries that Kiddiecraft had neglected to file for a patent but I could be wrong as well. Lego has of course improved the bricks considerably since that time. Anyway, it's just plastic bricks. Let's build! Joe
  19. My Enlighten engine cost me about US$ 3.50 including postage here in China. Lego is way over my budget. Lego started as a clone brand, right? I guess Lego stipulates the use of their bricks in other contests as they supply the prizes, so no prizes no restraints? Joe
  20. The funniest part is that they're all smiling! Thanks, Joe
  21. Hope he likes it! Mine's only three, he's a little too young to understand it (if it's capable of being understood in the first place). You could always get ideas from yours and use them in the new contest. Joe
  22. Flatfoot is an odd name for a bandit as that is an (outdated?) slang word for policeman or detective in the US. Joe
  23. Thanks guys, glad you got a chuckle out of it. I don't think I have a machine gun but when that Lone Ranger train comes out the gattling gun would look mighty cool on the roof of #168. Well, I didn't have a lot of space, bricks, time or photography skills so I had to make up for it with words! Was solar even viable in 1964? I wonder what a Jolly Roger sail would look like on the top? There's a lot of classified stuff under the retractable roof, ha ha. Anyway, the researchers are still digging through the archives, surely they'll come up with something. Cheers, Joe
