Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Hammerstein NWC replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
Be very very careful using acetone - it's nasty stuff! My 2 cents on the decool/clone subject. I like being able to get parts in different colours and custom parts that TLG are not doing. It's not cool that they copy customisers designs but let's be honest none of the custom houses are actually licensed to use the intellectual property so in effect they are stealing too. I will never stop buying official Lego but I wish they would stop denying us the opportunity to get certain figs. SDCC figs should be available in sets later on for example. The exclusivity comes from the packaging not the fig itself. Look at newyork comic con superman from 2011. Reissued in the first superman set an the value of the one on the backing card is still worth 200 dollars plus. The thing that really bugs me is how selective people are about aftermarket accessories. I hate brand X but love brand Y. For example - I hate megabloks but love Brickarms... -
Thank you all for your kind feedback. Tijger it is indeed supposed to be a kind of tachikoma. The base is Made from the lid of a basic creator Lego set. It's this one... http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=113637&colorID=0 Set number 10657 "My first Lego set" Hope that helps.

So glad they included Monty Burns teddy Bobo with Maggie!

Built form Marchikoma over at flickr. The Kromikoma is a multi purpose Node Runner. Unlike most of its peers it has no sense of humour and is liable to stab/shoot first and not bother with questions. Another difference lies in its inability to carry passengers, its abdomen contains its fusion core. I invested in some chrome parts for this and really enjoyed buidl this creation. I hope you enjoy this build as much I did making it.

REVIEW: 71005 LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Simpsons Series
Hammerstein NWC replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for the review. I'm encouraged by the tshirt arms which are cool. The high retail price puts me off a bit as does the accurate but very simple designs on the Torsos. I do like the printed donuts and detailed accessories such as the bat and tail. The Maggie torso is also great. These figures are excellently sculpted but I would much rather have seen more CMF's than a range of legoized Simpsons. For me the house was perfect. This may well get new fans into Lego so I'm happy enough with that but personally I would prefer to have more actual Lego figs. I'll pick up one or two for the accessories but this will be the first series I don't try and get all of em.- 118 replies

Don't forget the kitbash crew, people like me B-Lister! :) There is a third school of customisers who kitbash, we take purist products and custom produced parts and mix them together. Ie using Lego group stuff and adding Brickarms, brickwarriors tiny tactical etc. to make the best figs we can without having to cut or paint. Doom99 here are some custom houses who provide accessories for your figs that can save you time when starting out. You may need to google the full address, I'm not sure what Eurobricks think about posting actual shop links, so I will stay on the side of caution. Brickwarriors.com Brickforge.com Eclipsebricks.com Brickarms.com Customcrazy.com Crazy bricks.com Minifigcat.com Tinytactical.com Minifigs4u.com Penzora.com Minifigsforlife.com Solidbrixstudios.com Phoenixcustombricks.com Custom bricks.com The amount of accessories and superb quality figs will blow your mind at first when you see them! There are also some interchangeable Minifig accessories that you can use from kreo Cityville, lite brix and even megabloks (which sis. A dirty word in these parts). If you haven't found it yet I recommend you register at Flickr.com, the Lego community has a massive online presence there. Shoot me an mf or message me here if you need any help getting started! :)

These are cute and so nicely detailed! -
Thanks Dude! With hindsight I would like to have done better with the legs but overall I still think the colours are good!

When Blacktron Reconnaissance discovered the value of pollen from Persei Six, they created the Harvester Drones to steal as much of it as possible. Unlike the Nalongii Pollinator the Harvester has received some inbuilt aggressive programming and the accompanying "wing chung" unarmed combat techniques. Side by side with the Nalongii Pollinator!
-
The pollen from the giant "Fuschia Bellis Perennis" is an expensive delicacy to humans but is the primary source of food to the peaceful insectoid Nalongii. They use giant drone worker robots to collect it's sweet harvest.

thank you all for the great feedback! Fox the daftpunk helmet is from amazing armories a seller on bricklink. the other helmet is available too! Here is the last in the Series for now! Saint and the Sinner. Knock Knock!! The Saint and his handler, Arnie Sinner specialise in Hive entry and ex-fil. These shock troopers punch a hole into the Hive foundations to allow Sweeper teams and then brachiator demolition squads in. They also provide a secure exit point for any surviving assault members. Arnie Sinner is a reformed criminal with a penchant for violence. The buggoid invasion allowed him a second chance and a permanent spot on what is realistically a suicide team. As a kid Arnie loved to pull the wings off bugs, seems like not much has changed. The Saint acquired his nick name (and Halo) for heroic rescue actions under fire. Awarded the Iron Bolt on numerous occasions, the Saint has become somewhat of an icon in the ranks of the Brutes. More drones next week! On a different tack though! Decal provided by Cooperworks!

Loosely based on the 1992 Classic game I used to play on my SNES (that's famicom to you dudes in the USA). Musketeer Leornado Wild West Raph Apoc Mikey Deep Space Don Interesting factoid for you Turtle Fans out there in the early 90's the term "Ninja" was considered to violent for kids. This meant the Turtles were rebranded as "Hero" here in the UK. even the credits were edited to be TMHT.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Hammerstein NWC replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I remember as a nipper there being over a hundred different turtle figs available! I've posted some stuff on my flickr stream with the guys in different outfits. I'm surprised no-one hasn't done some color blocking with them before :) Some of the new mutants look terrible IMO but it's all new parts so we mustn't grumble! -
LEGO Ultra Agents 2014
Hammerstein NWC replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
This is going to be a very expensive year! -
After a decade of fighting the Alien invasion, the Galaxy Squad had been eliminated. In the same way the ADU was toppled by the Martians and replaced by GS, now the Brute Force has superseded the brightly coloured yahoo's whose overconfidene in tech inevitably led to their downfall. Investigations by human controlled Drones brought back news from Termite (the Buggoid home hive world). Their planet was devoid of nutrients required to feed their elite larvae. The buggoids had come to our Galaxy to provide sustenance for their queens. They were harvesting human DNA to farm our people as cattle. When the Galaxy Squad had been eradicated they started to take civilians who were much easier targets. A lone survivor came forward with new tactics and a better plan. Our technology was no match for the buggoid defences. High tech lasers and crafts were dropped. In came Old Skool, more personal hand to hand combat fighting techniques and ion plasma tech drones. Major Max Solarflare vowed revenge.... "Bug Hunters" deploy in two or three operative teams. What better way to combat the swarm than with a "Fly Swatter". Heavily armored and with ion plasma powered 360 degree pummels this drone never gets tired of squashing bugs. Accompanied by crazed veteran Hudson Rocket-Fella. This team has over 50,000 estimated kills at entry points across 3 hive Worlds. They include the notorious "Price of Existence" mission to Pluto which resulted in its total destruction via unplanned black hole implosion. Who needs guns when you have a titanium alloy cricket bat and a can do attitude. The Earth Tech boys thought is would be funny to make the meanest drones resemble bugs. This hunter is clearly a rookie, the lack of cybernetics mark him out as fresh meat. Major Max Solarflare with his combat drone Buddy "Machete". Close combat is the only way to penetrate Buggoid shielding technology. Max and the Machete are more than willing to oblige. Since losing his hand in an encounter with one of the remaining Hive Tyrants, Max has become an expert in Blade melee and fights with the smoothness of a professional. As with most drones - Machete relies more on enthusiasm and boundless energy rather than technique. Anyone stupid enough to get to close to the drone gets an extra pummelling from his additional tenderisers. The smaller drones in the Brute Force have the most dangerous jobs as they are the ones called upon to clear hive catacombs. Their larger battle brethren normally engage in entry assaults and exfil missions. Hive demolition team. Brachiator - bomb delivery drone. Ordinance expert "Boom-Boom" Johnson Slicer - personal defence drone Hive demo teams are the third wave of the Brute Force ground assault team. Not picturd but coming soon! Saint and the Sinner!

My favorite set so far! I have to say that in my opinion the actual builds for the sets all seem terribly poor from an aesthetic point of view. Honestly though as an AFOL and fan of mainly Minifigs I think they are all ace and in particular this one as the accessories bricks and Minifigs are just ACE! And at a great price point too! All over this one!

I agree totally with what OkY is saying. Does this wave excite me like the last series - Hell no! Other than the AbE Lincoln and Panda figs - I just see these as updates of old figs. I do however like a lot of th elements in the figs which means I will probably end up getting them anyways, cool new hair/hat pieces with some nice combo's but did we really need another mermaid, another cop (even with a cool helmet) 2 construction workers on the same series... Not a bad wave just not my favorite, especially after Series 11 which has probably been my fave so far.

Haven't got time to enter any of the competitions properly other than the avatar competition. Just wanted to show everyone that I am right behind the Action Themes drive to build though, at least in my own way! Here are some of Halloweens most notorious villains, including Michael Myers himself! Freddy Krueger The Fly Michael Myers Screamer from "Scream"

Is anyone else thinking that The Turtles line might see some Rhinoceros action? I'm wondering if Rocksteady will be making an appearance :) I like the spiders and scorpions. I think the scorps will have a more compact tail than the one suggested but either way think they will be pretty cool! if nothing else the new head moulds are epic!

What an incredible build! Not much to say that hasn't already been said. "Captain on the Bridge" I salute you sir. -
The minifigs are great for this! Possibly slightly too adult a subject for Lego but a very nice and neat kitchen too!
