  1. My prize has arrived, thanks a ton! I'll certainly be using some of these pieces soon...
  2. Great job on this so far, since I never commented on the first two builds I'll mention all three now: Nice work on the castle, it looks appropriately strong and fortified. I'm not sure I really like the snow on green though, it looks a bit strange to me. Nice round towers though! Neat landscaping and good use of faces/expressions for the peasant group! Since the other two builds have borders, it might have been nice to put some black around that one, but good job anyways! Fantastic second build! The angling of the towers is great, as is the bridge over the river, and you've got some superb rockwork there! Very nice bridge design, great work on the waterfall too. Probably my favorite of all your work so far, great job!
  3. Great work, the idea of a floating rock is brilliant and the use of trans-light blue is great! Awesome work!
  4. Nice work LD, the castle has a very realistic feel about it with all the details you've added! Good job varying the building scenes to go along with the story as well! Neat portcullis and the doors look great!
  5. Fantastic job as always Kristal, love the pillars and the grass and vines growing everywhere are really nice! You seem to like using CMFs for this drive... My single objection to the build is that it doesn't (for me at least) look like the entrance or a section of a temple, but more like a triumphal arch. Other than that, spectacular work!
  6. Whew, when I saw you had posted I was almost afraid I was too late... Anyway, since I was first with the first, I suppose I should be first with the second: The Cherples Discovery That may push the limits a bit on what the idea for the contest was. If so, it's fine if just one entry counts! And two more days... maybe I'll try to get another one in there (I had a really good idea not too long ago...)
  7. Listening to apples with cherries - what? It may sound crazy, but a renown explorer thinks he just might have found out how the ancients listened to music on their apple device! It seems the vikings might well have been the first to come up with it. "As we all know," adds professor Juzy Chary, "Vikings were far advanced for their time." So next time you're tempted to eat a cherry or an apple, remember to make sure no one's listening to it. Well, I'm probably not as funny as I think I am, but I had a lot of fun with this! Comments are welcome, thanks for checking it out!
  8. Looks great SK, the angle though almost makes it look like it's just one wall... Nice door, it's interesting how well the double door fits in even though it's not to scale!
  9. Plates and bricks, mainly, but also some other pieces. In fact if I had enough jars I'd probably store almost everything in them - but I don't have enough...
  10. ...when the first thing you think about when you see a peanut butter jar is how fast you can eat it so you can use the jar for sorting...
  11. Hmmm... (I'd actually forgotten about that...) but the other one was still first!
  12. Seriously, how do you come up with these things? Great story, very cute looking statue! I like the pose of the two kids as well! One thing though, I do think if you had tiled the top of the pedestal it might have been slightly better. Very well done anyways, especially like the use of dark green for the base!
  13. HoHo, poetry eh? Well, Kaliphlin beat all those Avalonian's to it... by a long shot... Yeah, what good is all your poetry in the heat of the battle?
  14. When I wrote that, you were one vote ahead of me. Now it's the other way around... if it has anything to do with it, that wasn't my intention...
  15. For the record, I voted for Da Maximus. He did a good job of portraying the feeling of departure. Though, I am somewhat tempted to delete my vote...
  16. Thanks, - sometimes I do wonder what I could do with more bricks... Do you mean the mini-Kaliphlin Challenge? That was to help generate free-builds, but it's over now, in fact you can vote. Or is there something else you were thinking of?
  17. I'm not exactly sure how many pieces I have, but probably around 10K. I sort by color for larger pieces and plates, so I have about 14 peanut butter jars, two for most colors. I have too much red, white, light tan, black and grey (both light and dark, I store them together) though, so red, white, and tan are divided in three groups with one in a larger bucket. Black and grey get their own larger buckets... and then I have the huge container where I used to store all my LEGO, with a few left over pieces (white, grey, and black) I either have plenty of or never found a use for. I sort smaller pieces in a tackle box similar to some of rogueang's, or in the tops of all those peanut butter jars... though somehow I ended up with more tops than bottoms! And minifigure stuff goes in a smaller tackle box... and a variety of miscellaneous containers... though recently it's all started to overflow... (and I'm never sure if that's good or bad!)
  18. Congrats to the winners, I enjoyed seeing all the entries! And especially to Emma, who I see followed most of my suggestions...
  19. Nice story so far, though like Ska asked, is the dog dead? Great builds, especially like the way you set the house in the mountain! Good job on the wall texture of the log house too!
  20. Nice sandscaping and figure posing! I enjoyed the commentary as well, and the Wyvern skeleton is a great touch!
  21. Congrats to the winners, well done! Thanks Si for the contests, Sci-Fi month was a lot of fun!
  22. The back of a headlight brick might work, or a Technic brick, 1x2 with pin hole? Or a few clip pieces to hold on to the lightsaber hilts. Unless that was supposed to be on the other side of the boosters, which side do you want facing out?
  23. Classic Avalonians, not to know how to spell their neighbor's name... we're Kaliphlinites, Kaliphanites... Anyway, nice build, great job showing the different stages of production there! Especially like the idea of using presses!
  24. Thanks, yeah, I should try out a bigger building soon!
