  2. Technically, it's Petraea University and not University of Petraea (at least based on the original challenge). So it should be PU (not that that matters much). You could add DoH (Doctorate of Historica) to the abbreviations list.
  3. That roof is really great! Very nice job with the boat too!
  4. I also claim the Bachelor of Anthropology title: Rounding up the Herd - Countryside Scene Valyrian Trade - Life in Valyrio, City Scene Oil for the Mitgardians - Life in Mitgardia SG: Main Gate - life in Kaliphlin Congrats to Gideon as well!
  5. Thanks everyone! I believe you're right, it's looking good on this computer! Thanks! I do halfway agree there though. The purple should tie into the rest of the house, instead of... well, just stick out (especially with the back roof). I was really in a hurry by the time I got to the top of that house though, so I just used what I could find, without too much experimenting. Thanks Gabe! I've gotten quite a pile of new bricks recently and they're really helping! Yes, like a mentioned the purple house leaves somewhat to be desired. I totally agree about needing a window... I was just in too much of a hurry to figure out how I would do that, especially given the SNOT brown (which made for a complicated interior!). Thanks Gideon. Oh yes. The thought of closing the gate never occurred to me... Yeah. Silly me! And you're probably right about the wood too. But I didn't have much choice; I ran out of stone at the point there, and didn't see what else I could do but incorporate some tudor style!
  6. Here's my Main Gate challenge entry.
  7. Seems like there's been a good deal going on while I've been away... Just maneaged to get this finished off and photographed in time:
  8. I think I got pretty much caught up there, sorry I hadn't been able to hit those earlier. I'd liketo claim Wall Techniques (1/3 - for the purple house - , Architecture), Life in Kaliphlin (Anthropology), Desert (Geography) for my Sultan's Gate build. Also missing one for FP on Stranded.
  9. A trader brings a convoy of goods. Ageven tours the walls: Interior shot: Second house. This was something of an experiment, I do like the purple bottom, but it doesn't seem to work quite the way I hoped it would with the rest of the building. Unfortunatly photographic conditions were far less than ideal. When I edited them they didn't look so dark but on this computer they're showing up pretty dark... I'm wondering if that's just the angle? I'd also like to claim UP DoH credits for: Wall Techniques (1/3 - for the purple house - , Architecture) Life in Kaliphlin (Anthropology) Desert (Geography) Thanks for checking it out, I hope you enjoyed it!
  10. Honestly I think you could have done a better job on the roof(s) here. I'll give you +1 for life in Mitgardia, but I don't think I can give you credit for fortification. I don't mean to be tough here, but I do want to be sure you putting forth some good effort.
  11. Another great build here, glad you were able to enter these! Very impressive wall, got to love those crumbled sections! +1 UP credit.
  12. Excellent job here Gideon, I especially like the dk tan sticking out from the wall, great work! +1 for both credits!
  13. +1 for village life, flowing water, and flowers/dense foilage. I can't really give you pond as there isn't much of a pond in the build IMHO.
  14. I'll +1 the dense foliage then.
  15. Looks great so far SK! I really like those grey arches inside there!
  16. Personally I think that large cups are better if you're filling them with smaller pieces (without stacking), but larger bricks are better stacked in a small cup. I tried filling them with water, the big one holds almost exactly twice the small one minus a top, but two small cups are a dollar more. I guess, technically the smaller one is better, since (suppose you were filling the cup with 1x1 rounds - which is what would work best) you can't fill the top and put it on without it spilling, and if you going to stack the small one is almost certainly better. Oh well, I still get the bigger ones!
  17. Neat little build! I was about to say exactly the opposite. Personally I rather like the ramshackle structure. Not sure about the white plate, but other than that it looks pretty good. On the other hand, one canoe is a bit small. Don't get me wrong here, it's great with this MOC, but for shipping by sea I'd like to see a bit more focus and work on the shipping part. So... in the end, I'll give you a +1 for wooden walls, but not for shipping.
  18. Great job! Both the inside and outside look really good and nice work with the photography on the first picture! One suggestion - it looks a bit odd with the green visible there on the bottom. If you stick the border out one stud width from the green baseplate, you won't be able to see it (though it will make the MOC ever so slightly bigger).
  19. Entry 5: 3 points Entry 3: 2 points Entry 1: 1 point My runner up would be entry 4. All four of you (or eight, I guess) did excellent jobs, particularly 5 and 3. In the end I had to go with 5, I think you guys did a fantastic job of coordinating your builds in a very unique way.
  20. Awesome job on the dragon Gabe! The rest of the MOC is really great too, very nice landscaping especially, I like the black and green acid streaks there!
  21. Fantastic sail there! Excellent curve, I'm very impressed! Good work with the rest of the MOC too!
  22. Great job Masa, the swamp is really nice and I'm glad you're keeping the Spire in check!
  23. +1 UP DoH! The croc fig is pretty neat! Edit: Sorry I didn't make it clear at first, but I agree with Gideon that you should pick either swamp or dense foilage.
  24. Great concept, good work on the houseboat especially! +1 for you claims.
