  1. Thanks! I found it funny too! Thanks SK! Yes, I will definitely give you the discrepancy between water types, that bothered me a bit but there really wasn't much of a better way to do it (given the shape of the base especially - though maybe I could have had the wave coming in from the outside?). Glad you liked the brick bending base! I've always wanted to use that technique but just recently discovered that I had enough 2x1s to do something with it! Thanks!
  2. Fantastic MOCs, the first one especially is really nice, love all the bustling activity it portrays. Great job rounding off the corners of the wall too, that really turned out excellently well!
  3. Another neat little fieldpiece! I particularly like the spear version. Nice touch with the windlass. Too bad I didn't find enough time to make one of these.
  4. Neat little cannon! I like the influx of small, but still high quality builds this challenge has created, we don't see enough of those! Photography is suberb, by the way.
  5. Thanks Scaevola. I'm not surprised you're not keen on the mast, I was trying out something pretty new and wasn't sure how it would work!
  6. Okay, I think I see what you're talking about now. Thanks for the credits! Thanks! Thanks emilstorm! Thanks dG!
  7. Thanks everyone! We're tough. Thanks Gideon! I get you with the flowing water. Thanks! Glad you like the subtle angles... they were rather unintentional but did turn out nicely! Just because of the way it's constructed making the mast thicker would have been very difficult to get to look right. Not exactly sure what you mean by more of a splash... there is one 1x1 round at the end ! The two poles are supposed to be just that... two poles for the captain to hang on to! Thanks! There is purple underneath, but it hardly shows. A bit of blue might have helped though I'm not a huge fan of mixing the two (partly because of the sorting that implies! ).
  8. I'll give you a +1 for all the credits. I hemmed and hawed a bit about the interior design, but between the arches and the pharaoh's quest walls (plus those brown poles sticking out, which really add to it), I'll give it to you!
  9. I'm looking for credits for Battling the Waves; waves (hydrology), flowing water (hydrology), and minifigure posing (general building). Edit: Forget the flowing water.
  10. Thanks Thomas! I've switched the wave claim to my more recent build.
  11. Welcome to Kaliphlin, both of you! @ska, thanks! At first I wondered what on earth you were talking about though!
  12. Great intro, and welcome to Kaliphlin! That first shot in particular is really cool!
  13. Here's my entry for the warship category:
  14. Usually these little ships travel in fleets of three or more, but this one got separated running a heavy sea up in Mitgardia. Of course, technically Kaliphlin ships can't be damaged by ordinary gales, but this seems like it might not be an ordinary one... perhaps the Drow have got it up to keep the cotton this ship was carrying from reaching Avalonia? Or maybe not. I just wanted some big waves! The skipper watches out ahead to make sure they're not near land. This is my entry for the Warship category of the GNAR... yes, the ship is more of a boat, but a bigger one wouldn't have fit in that nice border! Also, the boat splits apart (after removing the rubber band only a couple technic pins keep it together) in the middle of the mast (which itself is a rather interesting design, I thought). A picture of that wouldn't have been very much to Kaliphlin credit however. I'd also like to claim PU DoH credit for waves (hydrology), flowing water (hydrology), and minifigure posing (general building). Comments are welcome!
  15. Thanks guys! Thanks! Glad you liked the way I did the colors, I was a little skeptic of how it would turn out at first but it ended up pretty nicely!
  16. Yellow all the way! Seriously though, I like the splash of color it gives, but it's up to you, several great builders use almost exclusively flesh.
  17. Sig-figs yes. Factions, no. At least not until the start of the next book, when there might or might not be the option to switch. And yes, it is in no way necessary to have the guild colors in your build. Whenever you're building a boat or building or some man made thing it would be a good idea to include them, as it helps others to see what guild you belong to. Also, in book one, whether you had the guild colors in your build influenced the amount of gold it scored. Don't know if that carried over to book two or not.
  18. Great build Gideon, the half timbered house looks really nice and the texture on the wall is excellent! I'll give you +1 on all four credits, as going through the sewer is a siege thing, even though there isn't an enemy openly camped outside.
  19. I'll also give you +1 for shipping by water. I held off for a while because the Swiftsure doesn't really look like it has much space for cargo, but you did include the smaller boat with cargo so I suppose that makes up for it.
  20. Kali is definitely the guild for you (and for all those other GoHers that have missed their calling)!
  21. Welcome to GoH!

  23. Finishing up that GNAR
