My Rounding up the Herd still lacks one credit. I'd also like to claim credit for Forced Perspective (General Building), and Oceanside or River Scene (Geography) for my Stranded.- 343 replies

On a barren island, far out in the ocean, a lonely knight dragged himself up onto the sand. He raised his head languidly, looking tiredly round him. Suddenly he sprang up, and dashed up the beach with frightened eyes. All alone! Not so much as a coconut tree to break up the monotony of the horizon - he groaned aloud in a burst of despair. At last he raised his head. Up above him, circling in the air, flew his faithful pet bird. He fluttered down, resting on the knight's shoulder, looking inquiringly into his face. On a sudden impulse the knight took off the golden chain he always wore, and with a sharp twist broke off a fragement. He handed it to the bird, with the command, "Go home!" and the bird obediently flew off. Slowly the knight rose to his feet, and stood watching his last hope vanish over the horizon... I'd like to claim UP DoH credit for Forced Perspective (General Building), and Oceanside or River Scene (Geography). Somehow I wasn't completely happy with how this turned out - can't quite put my finger on it though. Maybe because I started out trying to do a graveyard scene, then switched to a feast, and finally came out with this... Comments and criticisms welcome!

Very funny little build! Great job! -
Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Presumably that was supposed to be Avalonia. To the best of my knowledge Avalonia (nor Lenfald for that matter) have anything comparable to the AoM. Avalonia did have a project to build Albion Plots or something like that - don't know if that's still running. -
Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

It doesn't have an obvious color pattern, you could probably improve that by playing around with it a bit more. Also the tile on the bottom should be black to match the rest of the frame. -

Still fantastic! Love the way it goes together! -
Excellent job! Those trees are great, and the archer's boxes look really good too!

That window technique is really nice kabel! I agree with what's been said about the trans-clear piece as a window here - looks a bit too modern. I think the piece is still usable for the medieval era, but I'd suggest offsetting it with a frame, not building it into the stone wall.

Looks nice, though personally I prefer the slightly less 'stud-y' technique of just cheese to the pixeled look the 1x1s give. Good job with the pattern though. Just in general (no need to change it here, especially if your bricks are limiting you) I would think that a building fancy enough to have stained glass wouldn't have so many different brick colors in its wall. -
The complete thing is fantastic! Great job Gideon!

#1 - Don't try it unless you have a lot of patience! That's a key ingredient! Other than that, I would suggest mapping the design out (with actual bricks) on your desk/table/hard floor, making sure it's the right size and all. The larger it is the more patience you will need, I suggest you do a smaller pattern for starters, if you want a large window you can combine slopes and other trans-pieces (example). Keep in mind that four cheese on top of each other (rotated of course) = roughly 5 plates (actually slightly more, but usually a bit more pressure or a virtually unnoticeable crack between plates will remedy that). Here are some nice patterns, and here's a nice description of the cheese slope sizes. Cheese slope sizes are fairly consistent but not absolutely. In a stained glass window where the smallest size error can make a big difference, if you find that something's not working when it mathematically should, try swapping some of the cheese. Hopefully that helped you! -
Great job, those icy roofs are superb! That slope at the bottom of the tower is really nice too! +1 for all credits!

No, down here in Kaliphlin we can afford porters. -
Excellent job, I like the smoothness of everything! Those chains in the window are great too!

Naw, the Mitgardian nobility don't wear beards. You can take that whichever way you like. -

Great challenge! I had another build in mind as a come back but I might skip it in favor of this one - or do both! -
Great work, the style of the buildings really fits Kaliphlin! Your MOCs are getting better and better, keep it up!

Excellent job! That rockwork is fantastic, especially the sloping terrain!

I love that coonskin hat too, wasn't sure it would fit in GoH but looks like it works well! Nice posing on the bear too!

Great job! Of course that stag design is a winner! I do like what you did with the horns there! As for the credits, I'll go with my fellow reviewers and give you plus one for the countryside scene. You could probably have gotten a + on FP from me though. As for brick-built creature, So I'd be happy to give you 1/6th of a credit, but I don't suppose that's what you're looking for!
