You can use some of them and build buffer stops on them instead of using a whole straight track length you can just tack on a flex track with a buffer on it! you can always use them to extend your layout to the very edges of your space and use them for gap fillers if you aren't worried about the looks. Also dr_spock that is a great idea to use them in a garden layout because who cares if they get damaged by weather ... no one really likes them too much anyway -RailCo

Is it just me or does the dummy bogie look like it uses a red bogie plate or am I just imagining (hoping) things? These were only used on the 7750 and are very rare it would be very cool to have them back in red. I just want to say I will probably buy this train but the battery box and receiver look like s*** if you ask me the should have at least included stickers to cover those up. -RailCo

As always an amazing review by you Jim! Now my patience for waiting for my package to arrive has decreased! I want it now ! Amazing pictures and detail as always. I love to read your reviews and they really help me make up my mind on whether to buy! Great Review! -RailCo P.S. when you first listed the contents of the box you flipped the motor and the battery box. The battery box should say "*[x1] Unsealed battery box" and then sealed for the motor you had written it the other way around. Just a side note

Man I wish the U.S. amazon or TRU etc. would have a sale when these immediately came out because I want to order it now but waiting for a sale to come to the U.S. like it did in Europe. May just order it anyway -RailCo If anyone knows of a small sale or a cheaper way to get one please let me know! -
What kind of piece is this? (RE 460)

That's interesting but what I think is weird is that it is what looks to me like an exact color match -RailCo -

This is actually really cool! I never thought Lego could do this! Really cool and simple design that works extremely well! Well done! -RailCo -
Thank you all for great and quick replies! I know it's sometimes a difficult question to answer and that everyone has their own values and what they look for in a set but it really presents all different sides and views of a set that I may not have thought about before and gives me more to compare and decide on! Thank you so much -RailCo

Hello Technic community I am still fairly new to the more modern style of Technic and since around 2003 the only technic set I have bought is the Mercedes Actros Truck (42043). I am curious to know what you would reccommend the Porche which is big looking and lacks powerfunctions and seems to be a bit pricy or the bucket wheel excavtor which is a great value and has many power functions features. I like both but I really cannot affort to buy both. Hoping you guys can help explain pros and cons and reccommend what you think is the better of the two and if I should get the porche now as it seems to be very popular. Thanks -RailCo

MOC: 1/33 Swedish 0-8-2T with three (!) working cylinders

As I am picking my jaw off the floor and cleaning up my drool haha this model is AMAZING I really like that you make trains for a bigger scale track (I am guessing G scale?)! Really shows what you can do with Lego. I am really impressed with another great model. I wish I had such wonderful skills to design such a great locomotive! Keep on Brickin' -RailCo- 68 replies

Well the auctions got very expensive very fast so I decided to let the other guy get it. It wasn't worth it to me. Thanks! -RailCo

Okay so it was a mix of dirty wheels and dirty track actually. I used a paper towel on the wheels and on the track and they both came up black so when I ran it again it ran smoothly. I also brought out a third motor and it did the same thing so I think one of my motors just is in really good condition and it didn't mind the little grime on the track. Thank you for all your help! Also out of curiosity what is the best way to open a 9V motor? Thanks! -RailCo

Hi, I have probably a 20-25 year old motor that only on the straights jitters/loses connections and looks to be slightly bouncing. The track is clean because other motors work flawlessly on it. I am wondering if I need to take it apart or if something could be warped. I'd rather not have to buy another $50-$80 motor for my metroliner if I don't have to. Thanks -RailCo

Hello! I have found on a small auction website some glued models from the eighties. Which apparently were glued for the Denmark Flagship store (or that's what it says). I am wondering if I should buy it as all the doors open and all the play features are there and even the motors still work! I am wondering if it is possible to unglue these lego sets or not. The motors are removable though and are quite rare so even if the set can't be unglued I can still use it and later down the road I could sell the motors. Thanks -RailCo

Found an old 4.5 volt moc that needs to be fixed
Rail Co replied to Legoboy22's topic in LEGO Train Tech
It would really help with pictures to be honest. Also if you find any sticker pieces or printed pieces this can be a huge indicator like a piece with "171" would immediately tell you the exact set so look out for those. Please post some pictures if you can. -RailCo -

is the plug and socket 2 leads or is it 1 full connector in gray if that is the case that narrows it down to 2 sets but if not then that will be hard to track down. -

Well the yellow motor ONLY came in 3 sets throughout any 4.5v era (1966-1989) and those sets were all universal building kits and as zephyr said it came in it's own small kit aswell. 744 http://www.bricklink...e?S=744-1#T=S={} 912 http://www.bricklink...e?S=912-1#T=S={} 404 http://www.bricklink...e?S=404-1#T=S={} which all consist of a lot of yellow parts so I don't know if you can refurbish/put this se back together as there is nothing to build really. They all have a black battery box as well but if you post pictures I may be able to help a little more. Good Luck! -RailCo -
I did try something similar in 2012 with the 7938 Red passenger train. As JopieK said the train is very light so it's hard to make good contact with the rails. Mine works "alright" but it stutters a lot and the wheels get dirt fast. 2012 MOD: 7938 Metal Wheels by Rail Co, on Flickr But it does replace the battery box. If you can get the design to reliably work go for it but in my experience it isn't easy! Cool concept though! I would buy -RailCo

This is such a cool idea I would have never thought of a zoo as a modular but it works!! So GooD! -RailCo

Very nice Idea I never thought of having a reclaimed coach in lego. Also to that left side you could put maybe some scenery or a little kiosk to inform the minifigures on the history of the coach. Great Idea! -RailCo

Since this has been posted in the Technic thread I have questions about how this can be used with trains if that is okay. 1. Can it be setup like a speed regulator where as some have mentioned "set it and forget it" meaning you set the speed of your train and then you don't have to touch the controller to keep it moving. 2. Is there a toggle option (ex. toggle on lights), if so can we set multiple outputs to one toggle button/switch main to use it for reverse and forward facing lights simultaneously. 3. Will a train still run if my phone were to go into sleep mode or lock? For example I set my train in motion my phone sleeps after say 15min does the train now instantly stop? 4. How safe is the "Fast Mode" for Lego motors I general (including train motors and even lights). Thanks -RailCo
