  1. If the ship is to be used in the EGS it has to be considered a new creation. So if the lxf file only includes the prefabs and the beginning of the sloping sides, I see no issue in using it. And if it contains more, rework it until you can honestly say it is your own moc. Of course, you should always credit the original, since it has formed the base, just like most people try to credit techniques they reuse.
  2. @Roadmonkeytj: Looks good - I do believe I agree she would be a class two. :) @LM71Blackbird: Cool - it is hard to give much feedback when you post them first in such a high state of readiness! I do think what you have here is a xebec, though. A barque would have square sails on all mast apart from the aftmost one, which has fore and aft rig. And if you need funds, I know at least one Corlander TC which would be happy to bid on larger merchants for sale! :D
  3. Interesting character, this Zumbro - I wonder if his personality will gain him many friends! ;) Where is the scarf piece from, and do you if it comes in other colours? I agree with Drunknok that the interior is nicely populated with props and furniture and looks busy like a trading office should. Tiling the floors and some of the furniture tops could make it look more "clean" but that is a matter of bricks. The exterior is nice as well and the use of brown tiles for the roof is effective use of just a few bricks. I think it might have worked even better if the roof plates had been brown too. I also like the use of Nexo knights shield. Is that the crest of the WTC? As to terrain, I agree with Drunknok that a path would make sense. You could also give it some contour with just a few tan plates so that it is less flat, but I like how you spice it up with plants, barrels etc.
  4. I am so happy to see so much interest - and of course both OL, SR, and ESL citizens are welcome (as long as they are not enemies of the state... ;) ). There is still room for more, and I have decided that this much interest warrants an expansion, so the ball will expand into the nearby park and guest rooms: Generally, I will try to recreate as many main characters as possible, but will probably only represent the side characters that I have the parts at hand for, lest I be banned from bricklink for sucking it dry of all pirate minifig parts! :P I am already compiling a list and have found most of the parts - but I will wait a bit to see if more people show interest, before writing a check to the nearest well-stocked bricklink store... ;) Can you help me where I should find her dress? What set is it from, or do you have the bricklink parts number?
  5. Let's go by this story. :)
  6. And for the future, we should try to avoid this in the future - considering we could have lost a ship to an enemy that doesn't really exist... :P
  7. Ok - lets get this cleared up. I will assume we cannot use it.
  8. Corrington captured the Wolf II, but I can't see it in our fleet sheet (it is listed as belonging to Oleon). I need to know its stats. @Legostone, perhaps you can help?
  9. Two or three sounds right, but until we see it, we cannot make a final decision.
  10. The Fontonajos are teasing us! I cannot wait to see what he finds! Looks great and some very nice and dramatic shots, Elos!
  11. Yeah, it has really felt like you have been moderating yourselves when it comes to talking about Corrington...
  12. Pardon me. I should have mentioned that I was talking in terms of rules (which is how I understood the question), not potential faction policies. Apologies if it led to any misunderstandings.
  13. Great dynamic vignette, Elos. And you do pose an interesting question. The challenge spoke of the natives, but we hardly saw them (if at all) during the challenge. And where are these ruins from? Who built them? Perhaps we will know in due time... ;) As to the minifigs, aren't some of those parts from LOTR or something or urukhai?
  14. Au contraire, monsieur. Instead, you are now free to build in the old and the new world, so take your pick. :)
  15. "Perfectly, sir. I bid you good day" he said with a bow and left the council hall.
  16. The Lieutenant stood and bowed to Guilder. "Might I trouble you for a written message to my superiors?" he asked. "I am quite unaccustomed to your republican ways, and wish to avoid any possible misunderstanding."
  17. The Dee family has opened a branch of the Dragonfire Gunworks in King's Harbour. (Medium artisan) And a link to the celebration ball.
  18. Beautiful bomb ketch, LS. What stands out the most to me is the rig - you have managed a very convincing rendition of the the ketch rig, and I like the chains as forestay, and the pits for the mortars. Is the sails made form some sort of cloth, or "just" red paper of some sort? The colour is really cool. Book beak and stern looks really nice, although you appear to have some structural issues in the bows! You have also managed to use the old hull pieces without making her appear too tall, something that I have been struggling with myself on my little brig. My only suggestion would be to add some minifigures and a story - perhaps some sort of scene around it. Right now, this is just a bomb ketch. We know nothing of its armament, crew, captain, where it belogs, or why it was built. Considering the work you ended up doing for your galleon, I think this one could use a little more lore :)
  19. They charged you FIFTY %?!? What madness is this!? Amusing story as always, Mesabi, and nice reaction to the MRCA, but I agree with Captain Genaro that a little more work would have made the build look more finished. Interesting choice of colours, btw!
  20. The overall aestethics of this build are amazing - the colours of roof, walls and windows go so very well together (and one must admire how clean the whole foundry is - considering they are working with molten iron and burning coal, they have managed a high level of the pristine! The roof is fabulous, but what stands out to is the process - the different stages of completion of the molds, and how it is all fitted into a relatively small footprint. I am lowing the bellows and the cranehoists too. Also, I have noted down your simple but brilliant a-frames - something I will certainly... STEAL! Oh, and I have licensed it in the name of the settlement, which is now a city! PARTAY!
  21. Cooke believes in the free press, and will be happy for any (positive ) coverage.
  22. The transfer will be done in 2 minutes. Consider this confirmation.
  23. Maybe someone knows that @Captain Dee's cannon foundry artisan will bring the settlement to city status and finds that justifies it? Good idea - it has been created here:
  24. To all noteworthy citizens of the Brick Seas, King's Harbour has recently received Royal Recognition as a city of the Empire, and to celebrate this, Colonial Governor Jtno. Cooke, Captain, RN, wishes to invite dignitaries of all nations to a ball in the soon to be opened Governor's House (See spolier). One of the first events of its kind in Terra Nova, the Governor hopes that socialites from all over the Brick Seas will make their way to King's Harbour to join in the festivities, the banquet, and the following ball. (Dancing optional) Should you be interested in attending, please send your card to King's Harbour so the event can be planned accordingly. Your host, Captain Jno. Cooke, RN Colonial Governor, The Southern Isles OOC: Why not celebrate? I am building a ballroom and thought I might as well populate it. I hope to see many sig figs or their representatives making their way to King's Harbour, and will try to recreate everyone who attends to the best of my abilities. Fleshies might be "yellowfied" and I might need a little help in identifying proper parts, but I will do my best. I will of course highly encourage a few story builds leading up to the ball getting your characters to King's Harbour, and you are welcome to build here while you are at it, but it is not a requirement. Only the most obvious plotholes will be denied. (eg. if your character is known to be far way to the south. But then you can always send someone else). If anyone wants to interact specifically with some of the other guests, I will do my best to show that in the build. Just let me know - it may be a good opportunity to talk to a friend, prospective business partner, or strike secret political deals. I can't make any promises as to timing, but my best guess is in about a month. I think this will be fun :) Edit: All credit for the coat of arms goes to @Kolonialbeamter
