  1. Nice entry, Vladivus! I like the bell tower and the texturing of the wall - and those troops are awesome. No wonder the Desert King needs to muster troops long dead, though - surely finding living beings supporting his rule is neigh on impossible!
  2. Nice use of space, Dr. Cogg - I like the shrine! The official is looking a bit worried about the outcome, though. (Which should be natural, as any sane elf would obviously be rooting for the High Council! )
  3. Bar the "streamlined production" bit, I think you managed to fit your story nicely within the Lore of Historica - I like the idea of the trapped souls of fallen allies!
  4. You are always using some cool colours, Adair. Nice build, cool posing and good story! For the Republic - For the People!
  5. Great idea and cool wagon + load (although the wheels should probably be placed a bit further forward to carry the load - right now a lot of it is on those poor animals ) The bastion above the gate is looking a little whimsical, and I wonder where the rest of the portcullis is hiding... However, your drawbridge and landscaping is nice, and for someone under the weather and in a hurry, this is pretty awesome!
  6. Hereby my entry to warzone 8. Should I win, the next warzone should be I5. Only few of the channels of the Qar-Akhen River Delta are consistently navigable. To guide vessels towards these channels, small lighthouses has been erected on cliffs near the critical points of the channels. Control of these means control of most of the shipping, as only few captains can navigate the channels unaided... The Tower by Beorthan, on Flickr These towers are normally manned by a single keeper, but in these times of war, small garrisons of a few soldiers are stationed to guard the tower. Under the cover of the morning mist, Beorthan and Tauro has been ferried accross to the tower, swimming the last bit to avoid detection. After quickly dispatching the guard at the pier, they have now entered the tower, and are fighting the guards to wrest control over to the High Council. The Backside by Beorthan, on Flickr On the roof, Tauro is making quick work of the lookout, who will soon fall to his watery grave below... ...on the roofs by Beorthan, on Flickr ...while Beorthan is finishing off another guard from the balcony below. ...on the balconies by Beorthan, on Flickr Located off the coast, this lighthouse stands amidst the rolling waves of the southern sea, which often engulfes the lighthouse in soothing sounds. But when the seas run wild, they seem to struggle with the cliffs and stonework in an epic battle to wrest the tower off its foundation. Now, as ever, the seas roll on regardless of the drama above, and will wash off the blood of the skirmish before the next high tide... The water by Beorthan, on Flickr Thanks for looking, all. C&C is - as always - welcome. I am quite happy with my waves - a first for me, and the tower came out reasonable well, although a smoother transition between the lower, irregular part, and the upper part is high on my wishlist.
  7. I think we have a serious contender for the Aquanaut-title here! Nice landscaping, fantastic water, and cool boats!
  8. And my entry: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=108416
  9. My entry for warzone 11 - In the event of me winning, I pick D3 as the next warzone. Having always lived secluded deep in the Wither Woods the Cresentthorn Elves have kept to their own ways, and their own gods, worshipping spirits of nature and the forces of old. According to the myths, these forces rest in the oldest of trees. As these trees grow old, they are said to take on the appearance of the Old Gods themselves, watching over the forest, its surroundings, and everything going on there. The elves simply call them the "Old Gods"... Watched by Beorthan, on Flickr In a clearing in front of one of the "Old Gods", one of the honour duels for Cresentthorn's favour is being held between a Leander representing the High Council and an Orc representing the Desert King. Gods of Old by Beorthan, on Flickr The Leander, Babar Sher, native to the Trifork, has just bested an orc berserker bearing the name of Xolag. The elven official, Beldroth, has just called off the duel, proclaiming Babar Sher, and thus the High Council the winner of this Duel. Victory by Beorthan, on Flickr C&C more than welcome. For once, I am quite happy with the photos (a slight issue with focus in one of them apart) and I quite like how my tree turned out. As may be obvious, the tree is inspired by the weirwoods of Game of Thrones.
  10. With a giant barrel of brandy! ;)
  11. Hmm, I must say, I am somewhat disappointed about the performance of my build... :/ While Jacob's is probably the best build, that is not what the guerilla system is about. I mean, we are voting for who won the guerilla/counter guerilla, not which build is the best. We are voting for effects and idea, rather than aesthetics... Well, at least that's my view on it. Otherwise, I think the guerilla system is somewhat broken. I really think I effectively countered the siege tower, rendering it useless against Eastgate. And I think I did it with a fairly good build on top of that. It may just be me who misunderstand this, so I would like to hear some thoughts from the rest of you. (And in any case, no hard feelings :) )
  12. Great counter - the only possible drawback is the drooling... There is going to be a flood from that giant dog!
  13. Wouldn't it be poetic justice if he was bitten by the cobra? Cool little build - you have packed alot into that small base and those trees are beautiful!
  14. A very well composed build, Emma! The walls are beautiful (although they do look a bit more ornamental than defensive) and that manticore is looking great. It does appear somewhat humanoid in the face, which I think it great for a mythical being! Further, it looks like it is having a bad hair day!
  15. Thanks for the overview, Nar Bilu - It does get a bit complicated to follow all the different stories going on, so this was a great way to put us all up to speed! Further, you are showcasing a lot of brilliant builds, which definitely adds a lot to the quality!
  16. Cool entry! The wall is really innovative - never thought of turning those arches upside down - and the Shrine is a beautiful construction! I like your posing too, but would suggest a bit more texturing to the ground in front, as the monocolour appearance makes it look rather bland. However, all in all, this is a very nice build!
  17. This is an outright beautiful build, even though it depicts something rather brutal! It really makes me want to see what you could do, if you came out of those black holes in Nocturnus. Would be great to see the rest of the town above! As to the minifigs, I see mccoyed's point, but also find that some of TLG's figures are: 1) Hard to remix, as torso/head/legs/weapons are specific to eachother 2) Great figs in their own right Therefore, I also often use TLG's minifigs (or with minor adjustments), especially for soldiers, where some uniform(ity) is expected.
  18. Nice build, BMS - I like how you incorporated the outpost into the mountain side - Now, however, I am wondering how to counter it!
  19. I was wondering the exact same thing...
  20. I really love your walls, Garmadon - they look so authentic in colour, depth and construction! However, I have got to echo what Lord Dan said - a tunnel and all that water flowing through might make for an unstable fundament for a wall to stand on! (AFAIK, traditionally, tunnelling wasn't done to get in through the tunnel, but rather to undermine the walls. Normally pigs fat or similar would be burned under the foundations, due to its high combustion temperature, which would then undermine the walls and help create a breach.)
  21. Again it is clear that the socalled "wonders" of the "god-king" are as false as his own claim to the Throne of Kaliphlin! Brilliant counter, Kai - I like how you have recreated the whole scene, yet still given your own interpretation of the beast. Together with Rogue Angel's countermagic, I think you have this one coveredquite well - will be some interesting voting!
  22. Welcome, RBC - good to hear you saw the error of your ways before it was too late! Looking forward to May, then! Welcome, Frumpy - glad to have you here and good to see you chose the bestest guild! Now, let's go hug a tree! As to your quesitons, I do not think it will be a problem. We are generally very flexible. Traditionally, we Avalonians claim a piece of land, but I do not think it is a requirement. However, if you are going to "build up" a city or area (See task 4) you could claim it for those purposes. Your sig fig does not need to be the lord of those lands, but could simply be an inhabitant. Claiming land might not be relevant, if you are not going to center your story in a specific area, though. (Someone correct me, if I am wrong, please ) In case any of you should be in the south eastern parts of our fine lands, you will always be welcome guests in the Trifork.
  23. Best wall: Garmadon It looks like something which could have been from a real castle! This was basicly impossible - so many great entries! Both for best wall and the rest of the voting...
  24. Hey man, cut them negative vibes! :P One single warzone where a tower is the challenge probably won't ruin your life Disco ;) @Jacob: I personally appreciate people bringing in new ideas, and a tower build isn't a bad idea for a limited footprint build! :)
