[CG:F13, DK vs U] How to deal with rustlers
Bregir replied to Jacob Nion's topic in Guilds of Historica
Grim indeed! Nice build, and I like that you used the cow against them! -
Challenge IV, Category C explained. RULES THREAD
Bregir replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Ska, can you do a "final" write-up of the guerilla deadlines? I am a bit confused with all the (excellent) suggestions from you and others. Much appreciated. -
Great! Now I can really appreciate the details - Looking forward to seeing more from you! For the glory of Avalonia! PS: Will you be joining the kaliphlin civil war challenge?
-
I saw his on Flickr and it looks really good! You have packed a lot of details into a relatively small build without making it look overcrowded! (Btw, you can put larger pics (800x600) in your post in the future - these small ones doesn't really do the build honour)
-
Haha, that was very clever, Robuko - I am sure they did not see that coming!

Heating Things Up [WZ1:E7, Faction Name]
Bregir replied to MassEditor's topic in Guilds of Historica
Well done - I particularly like the smoke, and the way the helmet is sitting on the scouts head -
Indeed - Until I read your comment, I was convinved there was a hole in the ground! Cool build and nice idea to collab.

Taking prisoners in Arkbri WZ1:E7, High Council
Bregir replied to de Gothia's topic in Guilds of Historica
I like the expression of the desert king soldier and the way his arms appear to be tied behind his back! Nice posing. The palm and shoreline also looks great! Where are those large trans plates from? -
Nice build, and again you have an alternative angle to the challenge. Well done! I don't think the composition is bad.
-
Cool build - the way the nile croc warriors emerge from the water is really nice, and I like how you used the crocodile head!

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Most likely the keyboard. Who knows - maybe a strong leader will offer himself to head the High Council! Any good suggestions? -
Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Bregir replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
I don't think it is necessarily that expensive. At least, I would check it before sending the computer to the junkyard! And "off-topic": Kaliphlin is wrought with civil war, as forces invade (yeah, I said it!) from the south, and a despot (said that too, I did!) is trying to rally support to his reign of terror. It is time for the High Council to stand strong with it's allies to ensure peace, justice and prosperity in the southern lands... -

I second your thoughts, Ska. Further, you have created a great challenge - and you handle our (endless ) constructive feedback and infinite questions to perfection. I think the delay idea is great, and can be explained both storywise and rules-wise. -

In some laptops, it is pretty easy to change the keyboard :) Often, it can be lifted right out, a cable unplugged and a new one installed... At least, I have seen it done. Maybe there is still hope :) -
Another great instalment, although I am starting to worry - will those frozen beyonders ever stop?!

Nice little watchtower with some great details. I like that you took an alternative angle on the challenge. A few more accents or details on the water may improve it even more!

Defending the Councilors [Minichallenge, High Council]
Bregir replied to Bregir's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks all - I will be looking forward to seeing what other entries pop up until the deadline. There is a lot of pressure on builders these days (positive pressure, that is) so I wonder how many will actually go for this minichallenge... About the build - I actually had that facade lying around, and thought this was the perfect place to use it. I would have liked to be able to include more enemies, but I ran out of fitting minifigs. Still think it turned out ok though. I really like the sand green colour - it goes well in so many combinations!- 13 replies

Challenge IV, Category C explained. RULES THREAD
Bregir replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
First point - I am divided on this issue. Higher point zones will also solicit more counter effort, so maybe the balance isn't too bad. Second point - Yup, you are missing something The rules state explicitly, that if a warzone is opened where only 2 sides can join, a third zone will be opened: "IF we get a situation where only two factions can reach a location (No no-man’s land to cross, or the third faction’s territory touching the warzone), then we may open up a “ flash war-zone”, where everyone can participate. This zone’s winner would not pick a new location." /Bregir -
Book II, Chal IV - Kaliphlin Civil War (Results Posted)
Bregir replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Hi Jakorin - if you haven't already found out, you are actually part of the PM thread. Check your messages in the top right corner Agreed - on the upside, it is a team effort. (I will gone for 10 days over easter myself) It would also lessen the load on Ska if he only needed to update it every second week. But anyhow, I am very impressed with the whole setup, and understand if it will continue as-is.- 272 replies

I am going to "fourth" this. While the other challenges have been awesome, this is really over the top! And I wouldn't mind an extension either - Just wonder if we can keep this up in the longer run... Longer deadlines might help that, though.- 272 replies

Challenge IV FACTION MINI CHALLENGE (EXTENDED ONE WEEK)

This is looking really good, ME. The colours are great, and I like how the aquaduct springs from the mountain side. There is only one thing I dislike... You are fighting for the wrong side!

[WZ1: E7, Desert King] Give that spy water.
Bregir replied to Jacob Nion's topic in Guilds of Historica
So torture is what we can expect, should the Desert King Prevail?! The forces of the High Council shall fight back these foul measures and ensure that order, rights, and justice are reinstated in the Great Southern Guild! OOC: Great build, and very innovative take on this challenge! The posing and the figures are great, and I really like the narrative! Where are those rat-figures from? Too bad you are on the "wrong" side!- 19 replies

In a mansion in the north western parts of Kaliphlin, a group of councilors from the High Council have barricaded themselves, fearing for their lives. Outside, a band of brigands are preparing an assault on the mansion, and a retinue of soldiers have vowed to protect the councilors. The Prey by Beorthan, on Flickr Outside, the attack has started and Beorthan, our knight in shining armour, is leading the defense of the mansion. The attacking force carries no distinguishing marks, giving no clues as to who may be behind the attack, be it Ulandus, the Desert King, or simple brigands. The Battle by Beorthan, on Flickr Left to right, the warriors are: Beorthan, Lord of the Trifork; his bodyguards, Cassius and Marcus; his friend Lord William Drake; and Tauro, his tracker and scout. In the back, the marksman Brogar is taking shots at the enemies. These seasoned warriors are holding out against the superior numbers of the attackers, and everything points towards a victory for our heroes. Unsuspecting Ulandian. [WZ4:H9, Desert King]
Bregir replied to Lord Vladivus's topic in Guilds of Historica
I like the ruins and the minifigs/posing. However, the picture seems to be a little grainy, or maybe it is a light issue? Anyways, nice build! (Beorthan will be frustrated to find out that Vladivus is siding with the Desert King, and thus might be forced to meet Shadowmere troops on the battle field...)- 22 replies
