Voting Thread: Warzon 5, Battle of the Deep Sands
Bregir replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Best sand: Captain Braunsfield. Regarding balancing, I think closing membership to the winning side (dynamicly over the course of the war, as activity may well vary) is the best solution. Regarding skills and ability, I really do not subscribe to the idea that some builders are invulnerable. Personally, I will rarely be able to match the quality of some of the best builders here, but I really do not think that is what it should be about. In terms of Guerilla's, I consider whether the guerilla attack is substantial enough to take over the province, and whether the guerilla sufficiently counters the effect. Say one builder cranks out an average quality build (for his/her skill level) countered by an average quality build (for his/her skill level) from a builder of a different class, I will happily vote for the "lower quality build" *IF* the idea is good, and the effects are countered. For everybody to take part of this, I think this is how we should do, to keep in the spirit of GOH, where all are welcome. Regarding the rules, I have only one comment: I would suggest making away with the "overwhelming" and "decisive" victories. They are hard to manage and aggrevates any imbalances that may arise during the civil war. (I still think we can continue to have some war zones turn over control of an additional square, for story reasons, as we have had in the past.) My two cents. -
Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Great intro, Marcu - Welcome to the guilds, even if you picked the wrong one! We shall be looking forward to seeing what you will bring to the current challenge! -
Book II, Chal IV - Kaliphlin Civil War (Results Posted)
Bregir replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Pardon me, Goliath, but this comment should never have left your head through the keyboard. It adds nothing to the debate, apart from a hint of bullying, in my view. If you have comments to the rules and execution of the challenge, Ska has proved time and time again that he is willing to listen. But don't take it out on individuals. And please know that this is meant as friendly advice, not an attack on you. On a different note, I shall be looking forward to getting back to my bricks and have a go at the new war zones! :)- 272 replies

Agree completely with Jacob here. Great job, Ska!! A question to the truce: Am I to suppose some sort of ooc (between the teams) and IC ( I.e. Build(s)) agreement must be made? :)

Book II, Chal IV - Kaliphlin Civil War (Results Posted)

I'd really suggest beefing up Ulandus if Captain B is fine with that. I think it will make the challenge more interesting. :)- 272 replies

Hehe, nice counter! Typical of the Desert King, though, to reserve riches for sacrifice and worship to the detriment of the poor inhabitants of his lands!! ;)

Hereby my entry to WZ3. Again, sorry for short post - posted by phone. // In the mountainous jungles of the Nestlands, a Ulandian official underway to a remote settlement to do a census and collect taxes, is now lost. While one guard is discussing what to do, the other is sneaking up on a rabbit. WZ3 by Beorthan, on Flickr Were they more observant and alert, they might have noticed the ambush about to be launched from the cliffs above. WZ3 by Beorthan, on Flickr And a little wildlife: WZ3 by Beorthan, on Flickr // C&c welcome :) Next warzone: D3

Hereby my entry to WZ4 for the high council. Sorry about the short post - I am posting from my phone. WZ 4 by Beorthan, on Flickr In the midst of the general melee some enterprising business man has opened what is left of the old arena and is selling tickets and drinks for anyone interested in seeing the fight first hand. Right now, a wolfman, from a tribe in firm support of the High Council, is about to, quite literally, bring the hammer down on a Desert King Zombie Knight, undoubtedly smashing his helmet and all its contents... The people love the show... // Next WZ: Queenscross

VOTING THREAD Warzone 2: The Battle for the Reservoir
Bregir replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
It would appear the DeSSert King (Send him here, and I'll make a banana split out of his mummy **s ) is having the upper hand on the battlefield! Should this development continue, Ulandus and the High Council may need to set aside their differences and rally against the despot! However, the High Council shall not give up! For the Republic! For the People! -
Cool! I am loving the tornado and the look on the victims face!

I think this is a beautiful litle counter, BP and I really like the fence

Thanks all - Glad you like it! I know I haven't written it, but any C&C will always be welcome! Thanks, Garmadon! I am happy you noticed! Didn't really feel like challenging Robuko directly on his home field, so this seemed like a better solution. Thanks, Adair - Glad you liked the speech. That Desert King is a false contender for power, about to lead Kaliphlin into a dark age! For the People, for the Republic! You will never find us! (Plus, Adair is working on opening a shorter route of supply ) Assassins => Hashassins => Weed smoking hippies => YMCA? Actually, Disco just showed us that a lot of fugitives came to the territory, so I guess that are whom you are seeing in this build. (I am sure the IAMS are there, hidden in the crowd, but they would probably have enough suplies ready to withstand a siege on their own, if it wasn't for the fugitives. )

VOTING THREAD Warzone 2: The Battle for the Reservoir
Bregir replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Another close call! Awesome entries, all! -
The attack was the assasination of a captain of the troops, so a logical counter could be inserting a new leader - or one of the soldiers rising to the challenge and assuming leadership - or that leadercould justbe a puppet, and the real leader now show him/herself. I don't really see it as uncounterable :)
