  1. Great build - and good to see Nar Bilu back on the scene, although he is obviously fighting for the wrong masters!!
  2. Brilliant execution and great concept - while I like all the wonderful aquaducts, it is great to see some moreunique takes on this challenge! That barricade it lovely - have actually thought about barricades a lot, but never seemed to come up with a solution. But this one is a great inspiration!
  3. Lovely build, Emma - great colours and wonderful aquaduct! However, I have got to ask - how does turning the outer casing of the screw lift up water?
  4. While the build is pretty small and simple - I really like the practical approach: We are losing cattle - let's build a fence! Great thinking, LD, and nice execution too (Technically, I can't give thumbs-up's, but I will anyway! )
  5. I noticed - and to my great surprise I find I really like that!
  6. I might be able to do this monday afternoon (European time) if no one else volunteers. You definitely deserve our support!
  7. Great gatehouse, and brilliant depiction of the refugees - It looks just the right combination between desperation and hope.
  8. Lovely as always, SarahJoy. It is a nice to see an alternative to going to war being depicted, but we are sure happy to have some of the Minotaurs on our side! The colours look great, and I would love to see how the building with this room in it look on the outside!
  9. I like the look of the muddy water! Those (fine) High Council Soldiers really do seem to be at a disadvantage, should those foul Desert King troops attack
  10. I like both the ship and the city scene - there are so many great details on both builds, you definitely need to to look twice! My favourite part is the interior of the building, but the brick-built sail is lovely too! (although a tad small) The Minotaur figurehead is great! I sort of see how the flashback part may be too long in the past to qualify as a guerilla - but on the other hand, your explanation about killing the leader of the Ulandians could definitely qualify as a guerilla. I also see how sneaking into Ulandian territory with your ship could be a great guerilla.
  11. Thanks all! Glad you like it - As always, my greatest challenge seems to be photography... Thanks, LV! Was a moment of inspiration - and I really love how Garmadon picked it up in his counter!! Thanks, LJ I think a lot of the lego colours are great, and the darkish, earhish colours are just wonderful for Kaliphlin. Thanks, LD. I doubt the locals put much meaning in the use of flags, though. It may be the colours of the local crest, or just that of some merchant or knight. (Or maybe them sneaky nocturnians have more going on than they would like us to know?!? ) Thanks, Gideon - I really appreciate taking your time to give me some constructive feedback - especially as I am struggling quite a bit with the photography! I am sure that my builds can be improved too, but I agree the lowest hanging fruits are probably on the photo side. I really admire your photos, and you are always welcome to give feedback on this - and don't be gentle! I normally learn fast, but this... hmmm, I just haven't crakced the code... Well, to be honest, he probably is just a regular (crooked) local official, who just happened to declare for Ulandus. And thanks - I will try to stay away from that ugly flash-button! Thanks, SK - I liked that one the most too. (And after seing Garmadon's brilliant counter, I wish I had reworked the green one! )
  12. I think I will try to make a guerilla against the Desert King next...
  13. Lovely build, Maxim - The forced perspective is excellent, and I love the way you use microfigures (and that prize statue ) and progressively smaller buildings to create a full perspective. Further, the facades are nice, as is the posing and minifigs! I really like how you moved a bit away from the original scene, while stille tying it together (with the forced perspective). For some guerillas, it doesn't make sense to counter them within the exact same scene, so something like this, or Garmadon's moc stopping the assassin outside the building of the original guerilla, really appeals to me. I hope we will see both types throughout this challenge - as we already have.
  14. What more to add? Brilliant cactii (love that word ), great terrain, wonderful idea and brilliant execution!
  15. It is impressive how many great builds come out of this wz challenge. Apparently, aquaducts are a great source of inspiration! The way it sits on top of the ruins of an old aquaduct is excellent, as isthe idea of combining a defensive structure with an aquaduct. The colourscheme is excellent, and the tower looks amazing. All in all - Great stuff!! For the High Council - For the Republic!
  16. The desert king promises peace and justice, but at what cost? Complete submission and obedience? The ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield for his glory? To believe that one who styles himself as god will treat others as equals, or even with respect, is nothing but folly! The great guild of Kaliphlin is meant to be a republic ruled by the electorate, not a tyranny ruled by a megalomaniac! OOC: This is a brilliant build with a well told story - I really like the way you have made the buildings sit between the mountains, and how there is a limited forced perspective. It will be a hard counter!
  17. As I think I said on Flickr, this is brilliant. The height of the aquaduct makes it look very imposing, and the soldiers emerging from the jungle is a great effect. Aaaand, the irregular base is awesome as well. In short: If this is what you can crank out in a hurry, I think my head would explode if I saw something you put a lot of time into! For Kaliphlin, for the Republic!
  18. I have seen this real life twice (Skaerbaek and Copenhagen), and it really is amazing - even more so "live"!
  19. Excellent posing, greatrockwork and overall brilliant work! Good to have you on the side of justice, order, and the republic!
  20. Hey Garmadon, you copycat! I really like how you recreated (and perfected) the scene, but what I like the most is how you have played along and continued the story, down to the water bucket being emptied. It really gives the impression that this happens immediately after my build. I had considered a few options for how to counter this, and while I would have arrested the official, aprehending the spy was also amongst my thoughts, and you executed it brilliantly! Further, you really take excellent photos! Good job. PS. A side-thought: While this is a perfect example of how to mirror the guerilla closely, I suppose one could also build a different scene, but mirroring, or rather countering, the effect of the guerilla. (E.g. Maxim's counterbuild in Everlast.)
  21. Zzzzzzzzzzzz... Eh? What? Somebody called my name?! :P
  22. My vote is now cast - and I while I will not reveal how, I must say this was a tough one. The amount and overall quality of the builds submitted from all three sides is a testament of what you have done with this challenge, Ska! Great job, all
  23. Either we limit the maximum guerillas allowed against one faction, or we make provisions that a guerilla attack can always be countered. (eg. if there are noone else to counter a build (within reason - we shouldn't be too rigid), any builder can counter it, regardless of whether this builder already have a counter up.) Alternatively, an extended deadline could be given for the last guerillabuilds to be uploaded. Limiting the number can be quite hard to manage, and sort of defeat the freeform of the wargame, although I definitely understand you concern, Kai. However, I think Ulandus have been unlucky this time - it is unlikely that the same distribution of guerilla attacks will happen again. (I will petition the High Council to be more balanced in it's attacks - or at least focus a bit more on the DK areas! ) (Alternatively, each faction has to have an even number of guerilla's against each opposing faction +/- 2. But again, it defeats the freeform a bit.) Just a few thoughts.
  24. Guerilla build for the High Council against Ulandus at square J15. "Procuring" support
  25. In the streets of a small town just south of Mpya Stedor, everyday life seems to continue unhindered, despite the civil war raging throughout the guild. Everyday Life by Beorthan, on Flickr However, in the shadows. something shady is going on. An official from the town council is being bribed by an agent of the High Council to allow ships, troops, and supplies to move in and out of Mpya Stedor. The Bribe by Beorthan, on Flickr Effectively, control of the town will be transfered to the High Council, together with the hinterland.
