  1. Did some more post-processing to the picture on the card (left/top picture below), enhanced the "cartoon" effect of the edges and made the layer more transparent to wash out the colors and to let some of the dirt of the background become visible also on the picture. Does it look better now? I also made a similar card for IV Sun by Masa, using the same background and techniques.
  2. I did a "cardification" of the top picture, using the same background and similar techniques as I used on my Kaligem card. Was this something like what you were looking for?
  3. Nice gate! I especially like the stone detailing around the gate itself, and the overall look of the wooden parts I still think however that your MOC presentation would be improved by a more even backdrop. Try ironing the cloth or remove the background with Photoshop/GIMP or similar?
  4. Nice minifig posing, the knight really looks surprised The foilage and water of the vignette are also look good, but I think you should cover the rock piece a bit more (especially the hollow studs). I also think the photography could use some improvement, the pictures don't look very sharp. What camera did you use?
  5. Lovely interior, not least the mosaic floor! The windows and brick areas of the walls also look great. Best of all however is the feeling of suspension with violence and death literally lurking behind the corner. Good luck in the other contest!
  6. Nice recap of many of your great builds and a couple of new (?) ones I had not seen before! Benoic must be one of the best described regions of all of Historica (this makes me even more want to have time to build MOCs to flesh out Barqa )
  7. A set of excellent builds and a well-written story to accompany them! UoP +1 for all the claims
  8. Very good work with the overall feeling here, and a lot of details which also increase the creepiness Good luck in the contest!
  9. I suspected something like that Thanks for the peek "behind the scenes"!
  10. Nice scene! I really like the hint of hidden ruins on the right side UoP +1 for the claims.
  11. Nice! Another reason to go there What about making a package and posting it to yourself back home? Must at least be cheaper than overweight luggage on a transatlantic flight...
  12. Very nice build, I especially love the shape of the tower (how did you do that??) and the raft
  13. I live in the middle of Sweden, so Copenhagen is 3 times as far away as Stockholm...but my grandmother lives close to the Öresund strait on this side, so I've taken the train over the bridge to Copenhagen a couple of times when I've been visiting her Anyway, I'm going to take a way too large suitcase and a stack of empty PaB cups (with stickers) with me if we go to the US next summer as planned.
  14. Fantastic set of figures you have there! I'm eager to read more about their backstory and settings
  15. Provided there is a Lego store anywhere close by...still can't understand why they won't open a Lego store in Stockholm, would only be 3 h away for me then I suppose they don't want to steal sales from their successful partner stores here, but those have ridiculous Swedish list prices and no PaB (= uninteresting to us AFOLs). Tan generally seems like a color which has a quite good supply of base bricks but some of the more specialized pieces tend to be expensive...
  16. I really like that you are taking your interesting techniques into a more urban environment, not least that house against the wall looks lovely. I also really like how you've used the capes as a flimsy canvas roof Overall, there are a few techniques here which I might borrow to a Kaliphlin setting some time
  17. Thanks! I think that makes it enough votes for that credit @NM: That Messahmuk build must have been before my time on GoH, could you give me a link to that?
  18. Very nice fortress, easily recognizeable as SK work! The shape of the tower is interesting and the overall layout looks really good! (a bit puzzeled however by the plants on the roofs and that the drawbridge is not charred by the proximity to the lava ). I also like the interiors, showing some of the life of a Nocturnian soldier is a nice idea Regarding UoP credits, I have no problem with giving +1 to the first three claims, and somewhat more reluctantly agree that the lighting also merits a +1 (my reluctance is mostly due to the uneven nature of the lighting, but I suppose that it represents uneven temperature in the lava )
  19. Another great oldschool build, I really enjoy your AoM series! I also like that you have a story for each build
  20. Nice tower and surroundings, I especially like that little bridge!
  21. Seems like the superheroes of Kaliphlin all have their own weaknesses. I also always build standing up due to an old back injury (too crazy downhill skiing back in high school), so a table with motorized elevation was my best lego investment ever. I find that it actually works pretty well to build standing up since I have a better reach to the shelves around me then. I just have to have good shoes when doing too long sessions at the building table, since time somehow flies faster when I build standing up (probably because my back doesn't remind me that I've been at it too long) and instead my feet get sore After building my Petraean wall in three days and nights (barefoot, it was in the middle of the summer), my feet took a week to recover
  22. Very nice build! I especially like the dock and the buildings, and the ship is also nice and the mast technique looks very good! Maybe the mast could have been a bit higher however, and I also think the forecastle should be higher on a cog? Are there any pictures of the dock and the street without the ship obscuring much of the view? I'm seconding the opinions above that I really like the fact that this MOC is not used for it's (supposedly) intended purpose
  23. Lovely wooden structure! The landscape is also nice, and I couldn't help smiling a lot when reading the story Keep the builds coming!
  24. I'm actually thinking of planning the US trip with my family this summer so that we can spend a few days in Chicago around Brickworld We are going to Indiana (where my wife lived for a yea, to visit her old friends there), and might as well fly in or out through O'Hare in mid-June.
  25. Nice entry, I like the tree and the fire effects And the ornamentation on the base is great! For the Black Spire!!
