I'm afraid not. The white rubber bands are too short and I don't think that the black rubber bands have been used by TLG in the past years. I've tried to build in the spirit of the competition: Imagine your set being sold as an official LEGO set. So I am only using parts that have been used recently. I also used the colourcoding of look-alike-parts and used some solutions that could have been done with less parts, but these would never be used in official sets.

Hi, Here is the latest incarnation of my model. Still some photoshopping to be done... I could make the rear spoiler controlled with a wormgear/gear combination, but it would make the structural integrity of the white sides of the car really minimal. I have opted for the manual adjustable spoiler instead. But I'm interested to hear what you would choose.

[MINI] Retro Car
Jeroen Ottens replied to super-jaschka's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Beautiful, lovely curves. You could use the new Speedorz part (hole with pin) in your doors for a bit cleaner look. And I suppose you want to replace the axle-pin connector in red with something else when you build it in real bricks?- 44 replies

[MINI] Container Handler
Jeroen Ottens replied to jerryyao's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The container grabbing mechanism looks quite sophisticated. But since the rest of the vehicle is quite sketchy, it feels a bit unbalanced as a whole. Is it possible to simplify the grabbing mechanism and use the parts to flesh out the vehicle itself? -
Very nice model I hope you will be able to bring the parts count down, while maintaining the functions. The only thing I'm not too thrilled about is the colour scheme. I don't like the yellow-red-blue combination. It is one colour too many for my taste.

[MOC] Aircraft Tug
Jeroen Ottens replied to filsawgood's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Cool model. I like the dimensions of these tugs and you captured that well. My only criticism would be that you have a too crowded cabin at the front. If you could get the elevation mechanism out of sight it would be even better. What is the lifting (the whole model) function for?- 39 replies

Nice entry, with room for improvement To remove parts: - simplify the hooks, they look quite part intensive - use 5L liftarms for the front window (saves 4 parts) - If you make the containerbed 5 wide you can save a lot there - Use the technic frames 5x7 or 5x11 for the chassis

Wow, that is just beautiful. I love the lines and it looks exceptional from every angle. Interesting use of the 4L differential housings...

[MINI] Garbage Truck
Jeroen Ottens replied to zweihander's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great entry, I like the colours. You can get smaller tires for those wheels, but they are more like racing tires (very low). Succes with getting the steering in as well. -
Hi, It is amazing how much you can tinker in such a small scale model Another update, this time using flex axles for the hood (19L axle instead of the ribbed hose). In reality it looks much smoother than in LDD, somehow the 19L axle appears to be just a little shorter than the 19L ribbed hose. It has a much nicer curve than I managed to get in LDD. The price I had to pay is that I had to remove the adjustment in the spoiler. Comments are welcome again

[MINI] Lawn Tractor
Jeroen Ottens replied to Eraman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wow, that is a beauty! I love the colourscheme. But... can you get all these green parts? -
Hi again, And a third incarnation of this model... All functions are still in: independent suspension on all 4 wheels, functional steering (and this time you don't need spiderfingers to use the steeringwheel), the hood can be lifted and the spoiler can be adjusted. Again exactly 200 pieces. Please let me know which version you like best so far.

Do you have an actuation mechanism for the flatbed or do you just have to pull it with your fingers? -
