Great models! Clean lines and sturdy at the same time, that is impressive. Those stickers really add to the presence. The side scoops are inventive, but although I'm sure they are a good replica of the real thing, they do make the sides look a bit messy I think. Is the bodywork completely modular, or is it integrated into the chassis?

Amazing pickup truck again Madoca! You have such a good eye for proportions, it really lifts your models from the rest of us... The hatchback is bit too colourfull for my taste. Also the use of ribbed hoses to form the outline doesn't strike a chord with me. Other than that it is a lovely little car with some very clean curves in such a small package

The instructions are being tested as we speak. A few items have come up, one of them might require a redesign to ease the assembly, so you'll have to keep your patience a little while longer. The moment everything is done I'll post an update... I do expect that it will take at least another two weeks (if only because I'll be traveling next week) and if more issues are found it can take another three weeks extra (since I'll be travelling a while later again for more than a week)...

I can only agree with Drakmin, an earthlike colour is for me the right balance for this car. White, yellow and blue (to a bit lesser extent) pop too much for my taste, DBG is not enough colour for me. And I am still interested in seeing a black door, especially with coloured seats...

Yep, just checked and it indeed doesn't fit. But using the old DBG gears iso of the new red ones does solve the issue. So it is really the gears that are not in system... I wonder how LEGO will solve this: 1) Use the 'old' DBG gears --> sort of defies the point of introducing the red ones 2) Modify the red gears to make them 'in system' --> but how to tell them apart in your collection? 3) Modify & recolour the red gears --> I'm not sure which colour would make sense. LBG, DBG and red are already taken, black & tan are used for the neighbouring 12T and 20T gears, so that leaves white? 4) Add some play to the mounting so that it stays out of system 5) Design without the extender 6) Redesign (and recolour) the extender piece to make a right with two wrongs --> I would put my money on this one if they really need an extender.

Looking good, but I agree with JJ2, something feels off... The black chairs blend in with the black roll-cage, maybe other color seats can make the exterior pop more? Also I am not sure about the red doors... You have a very nice flow of red from front to back through the chassis and those red doors detract from that I think. That suspension is divine

Looking good, I have a weak spot for dense & complicated gear assy's I do agree about the mini-LA's though, the LA's look a bit out of scale...

Very cool idea indeed! If you are serious about the budget the PF parts need to be an add-on system. Which is still perfectly fine to do I would say, it just poses a slighty bigger challenge in the sense that the motor, batterybox and wires should be easily mountable without tearing half the model apart. And of course you can add one set of LED lights as well. I am not sure about the fake engine though... It is in the wrong place (should be mid-ship I think), it is hidden under the BB and it adds a lot of costs for little extra value IMHO. You could do a cost comparison of your model and the official set on Rebrickable, that will be interesting...

It does look like medium blue, but a quick scan doesn't show any new elements compared to the air-jet except for the 3x11 flat panel and the 4x2 liftarm

I was about to whine about the garish line-up when suddenly I realized what is really happening here. It must be an elaborate ploy to bankrupt all these copycats. Showing some models that can be copied and then announce in July the real line-up Joking aside, the last two-three years are starting to remind me of the 2000's. Unclear direction in the designs (a tracked jeep?? A bigfoot truck with a thin crane??), weird colours that dilute the parts palette (I know some people start to think about purple Porsches, but seriously, with only 3 panels and 2 beams in purple it just will never happen). It is already difficult to design in orange (no #5 / #6 panels) which has most parts available in reasonable quantities. It is a very mixed quality that we are getting. Last year we got the arguably best LEGO Technic set ever and now we get this line-up?? It does not feel consistent at all...

Generic Contest Discussion
Jeroen Ottens replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
How about a 'design a proper 40th anniversary set' Requirements: - Clear connection to a major development in the Technic brand (see Technicopedia for some clear defining moments or models) * Can be a significant model (8880, 8448, first technic model) * Can be a significant part or system introduction (first penumatic model, first studless model, flexaxles, etc.) - Minimum of N (say N=4) functions * Drive, steer, lift bed, extend rope * Suspension doesn't count as a function - If steering is available in the model both a HoG and a functional steeringwheel in the dashboard should work - Modern era model * Studless, no model team finish, (very) limited use of systembricks or studded technic And so forth... I'm sure we can collectively come up with a great proposal for Jim Personally I would also like to limit the model either in piece count or size to make the playingfield as level as possible -

Nice! The cabin could have used some colour instead of LBG, but I like the details you put in there. And the steeringlock looks impressive for a LEGO creation- 6 replies

Problem solved... Here is the updated preliminary partslist. Please be aware that the instructions are still not tested (even I haven't tested everything yet), so some changes can still happen. With a bit of luck the Lego bricks & pieces service will resume operation Feb 1st with the #3 connectors in orange available... I have tried to optimize to the Porsche partslist, but still 38% of the parts are not from the Porsche...

Hi, The preliminary partslist can be found here. Instructions will still take weeks to be completed, with 2937 parts that is a lot of work... It can be that the partslist will change because of feedback from the testbuilders, but I expect only common parts to change, not the rare parts. Jeroen EDIT: Literally five minutes after I posted this I found that one gear was hitting a 5x11 panel... I'll first solve this an then put a new partslist on the web... Sorry about that.

Those engine intakes are gorgeous Interesting to see how you'll solve the challenge of the tapered wing. Looking forward to that...
