[WIP] Isetta - restart
1gor replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Honestly only Mini inspired me in real life of all small cars, but to take a Isetta as a challenge and make model of it - that is very brave - but beware of this -
Bugatti Chiron + Rebrickable
1gor replied to Lox Lego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very nice bodywork. I was only hoping to see engine with typical LEGO parts as in official sets. Perhaps this would be a next step but all in all it has this WOW effect. Excellent job -

...some updates; finished gearbox for front and rear pto and additional shaft for future implements like tilting bed or any platform that should be driven could be made (perhaps some future project)...yes there is one more thing - chimney was added...- 625 replies

Purism
1gor replied to Erik Leppen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Honestly whenever I've tried to use 3rd party parts they got broken, or they were not of acceptable quality, so only manipulation that was made by me (so far) was not to use complete turntable (did not assemble it 4 times), just side with gear because I needed big gear for this model. And of course few times I've "stuffed" LEGO tires to make them thinner and bigger in diameter like here... (I use link because images are way to bit to post them here directly...)- 179 replies

Systems tractors and other machinery
1gor replied to 1gor's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Gearbox is finished. It has two main functions: driving front and rear pto driving additional system like tilting platform in my case or can be pneumatic compressor for crane or similar attachments To achieve simple gearbox (using smallest number of gears), I had to put front pto shaft lower what can be seen on first two images here. In addition to this I had to make less suspension travel for about millimeter to prevent suspension hitting front pto shaft. Solution is copied from 8110 set - so nothing fancy here. Here is current state of project Unimog U423 enjoy...- 625 replies

you need company specialized in digital print and take your panel (e.g. 5 x 11 panel in light green) with you to them to make sticker that visually integrates with part on which will it go -

1gor replied to Aventador2004's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
usually companies that deal with digital printing have a lots of different foils so you gave to go to them and take LEGO panel with you on which you want to put sticker to match color -

1gor replied to Aventador2004's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
when you're talking about stickers - you have to find out which foil suites LEGO plastic best. I've tried to make Bluetec 6 and round Mercedes star with orange ring sticker, but turned out that it was difficult to match color. This can be very tricky so be patient and consider that color on display is not like real thing... -

I know. Question is only up to which level of openness will you go not to make yourself to complicated. From my pint of view just cover rear wheels and partly front part of car... -

then it could look like this (just an old example). I'm a bit different person - want to make as covered as possible with some characteristic functions of model. Important is to stand behind your decision -

I told you in the past that I'll keep an eye on this project and must say great effort for this project. Usually big projects give big responsibilities and you shown that you are responsible with such level of perfection -

I agree red is used to often - my intension with images was dealing with shape. The same problem I have very often - example for Unimog I've spent 2-2.5 years searching proper orange parts (and 3 years for wheels in which I can implement small portal hubs). Purple color from 42069 set would be very interesting IMHO anyway...or some lime green What I don't like (in general) are holes in bodywork but always want to built technic model (generally they're lighter) and not model team model...despite some creations on Scale modeling subforum are great.
