  1. Nope, that's a fin piece that has already appeared in some Bionicle sets. Also, it appears that the rocket car has mettalized silver parts, and the very small fairings in dark blue. If this is the case, I'll be getting at least two.
  2. In terms of rarity, Rebrickable used to define rare as a part, or part that appeared in a particular color as appearing in fewer than five official lego sets. However, I do have some technic parts in odd colors, but they did not come from technic sets. Back in the good old days, the larger Bionicle sets and Throwbots had lots of Technic parts in odd colors, such as red gears, or pearl gray liftarms.
  3. TC5 is a special tag for entries in a contest run by this forum. GBC stands for Great Ball Contraption, a device that moves small lego balls from point A to point B in a complex, automated manner.
  4. I'm surprised we haven't heard anything out of NYCC. Also, might we get info out of Legoworld 2014, or does lego not really display stuff there?
  5. The AA batterybox is cheap, and simple. That is the only reason why they still use it. That, and the AA battery standard is literally the most common worldwide.
  6. I'm surprised nobody has discussed b models of the sets, so here are my ideas: 42031: The smaller sets are always the hardest to come up with b models for, due to limited parts. It will almost assuredly have 4 wheels. I'm thinking a reach stacker, or some similar type of forklift, with a movable arm, and no other functions. 42032: Since the A model is tracked, the B model will presemably be to. I'm thinking a bulldozer, or a tracked paver. 42033 & 42034: As per usual, the two pullback sets have a combo model instead of individual B models. However, ther is no obvious combo model that hasn't been done, and the tires of both models are not suited to any on road vehicle. Personally, I think the combo model will be a powerboat, with hidden wheels, and the canopy from 42033. 42035: This model is difficult as well, due to the fact that the panels on the dumper bed are so large. We cold maybe get a wheel loader, or a wheeled bulldozer out of this. 42036: I can not recall a motercycle set of recent memory that does not also have a motorcycle b model, so this one will probably be the same way.
  7. At least this set (8279) has proper 4 wheel drive which lego is weirdly unwilling to do now.
  8. Can anyone explain why 42041 is a reissue? I can't think of any good reason for it to be.
  9. Aieee, what is this monstrosity?:) Anyway, it's a 4x4 vehicle with pendular suspension, maybe a pickup truck.
  10. I think you should only sell it if you are an established seller on ebay/bricklink. If you are a first time seller, you might not get as much money, and may be sitting on it for a while.
  11. Don't sell the collection, unless you are truly desperate for money. The fun of building far outweighs how much money you'd get for it.
  12. Me likey. This is an excellent, and well executed Mod. I'd like to see it in action. Also, I think that you should define your acroynyms, makes easier for people who aren't in the know.
  13. I uploaded all of the images released thus far to my Brickshelf gallery, now it's just a matter of waiting for it to be moderated.
  14. My impressions of the sets: 42039: Large, and excellent model. Color scheme is pleasingly unusual. We get, in terms of new parts, new fender pieces, in green and black, as well as new 3x9 wing panels in green. Also, we get the 3x11 flat panels in green for the first time. For functions, this model has independant suspension all around, and HOG steering, as expected. It also has a mystery knob on the side, which is probably to lift the body. Hopefully, it does not lead to a boring 2 way function splitter which we are all tired of, with the model instead having a v10 model engine connected to a 5+r gearbox. One minor gripe is that they did not use the 42000 wheels, although this may change. 42038: Weird orange tracked thing. As far as I can see, no new parts, but lots of parts never before seen in orange, including the super small wing panels, and 3×11 panels. The 42000 rear hubs are used as the main supports of the drive sprockets. Functions include live axle suspension, and the 2 segment crane. I'm definately getting this. 42037: Another weirdly colored set. The lime green and light blue parts are welcome. Oddly, this model has independant suspension, even though a live axle setup would be more appropriate. Also, it should have had the new Tumbler wheels instead. Luckily, it looks to have four wheel drive. Please, Lego, let it be so? 42036: More light blue, and red, but no red #3 connectors. Aside from the colors, rather boring. 42035: A cute little dump truck with new tapered panels in yellow. Likely has steering, dumping, and a single cylinder engine, though that is proably only driven by one rear wheel. 42034: Meh pullback, not interesting. 42033: Rocket car pull back, a first. Lots of white, and some dark blue panels. Might this mean that those parts are not going to remain exclusive to 41999? 42032: Excellent white tracked Bobcat style loader. Can lift and tilt the bucket, as well as open and close the grating over it. Lots of functions for such a small set. 42031: It's a cute lil truck.
  15. Have you seen a picyure, or are you just guessing? Anyway, I would think that the formula off roader would have the tumbler tires, unless it had new mold tires. Most off roaders like that that I've seen have tires that are almost like paddle wheels. What i really hope is that the car has a proper gearbox, and the off roader has 4 wheel drive, as opposed to the usual lego copouts
  16. Yeah, while the steering idea is clever, it is also hilariously out of scale.
  17. I've got an idea for front steering and suspension, but showing that will have to wait till sunday, as I work tommorow.
  18. While there have been many Lego Technic creations submitted to Cuusoo/Ideas, with some even getting the right number of supporters, none have passed the review. I think I know why. Every Cuusoo/Ideas set ever has been in the 300 to 500 piece, $35-$50 range, and it seems that, for whatever reason, Lego is unwilling or unable to make larger sets. Also, every Ideas set is something that would fit in with Lego's primary demographic anyway, but would not have its own theme. I think that this is a problem, because the demographic that submits creations to Ideas is very different than Lego's primary demographic. Thus, Ideas is a wasted oppertunity for them to make AFOL oriented sets, because of this stupid and arbitrary demographic limitation. Just my thoughts, what do you guys think the reasons are?
  19. I dunno about that. I think the dimensions just got mixed up. After all, lego boxes are made out of pretty consistently thick cardboard, right? Also the dimensions that are .91 cm would equate to 9 mm, which is way too thick.
  20. So, does the finished entry have to conform to an existing theme, or can it be based on something completly original, or even an item of non lego liscensed media, like for example a Voltron baseed entry?
  21. As I recall, this set is motorized right out of the box.
  22. The best technique is to buy the parts in the right color off of bricklink.
  23. Confirmed, they are also instock at the Lego store here.
  24. What I'm wondering now is whether it is better with a brick built actuator to run the worm gear directly on the racks, or to run it through a geartrain first.
  25. Awesome, Lego should really look into making some of these parts. Also, reply 666, the most evil one
