  1. This is excellent motivation for me to take a photography course at school... Sadly, my courses were finalized recently, and I did not pick photography. Perhaps I'll be able to in the future... I'm in awe with some of these submissions.
  2. So, this is what I have so far... A kimono-like decal that I am working on... But I really want to add details to it... However when I try to do that, it begins to look like sketch rather than the clothing of a lego minifigure... Anyone have any advice on how to make it look more detailed, without making it look too "busy"? Thanks, ~Deme
  3. Danke, Henchmen. Your post helps a lot! ~Deme
  4. I love this! Especially Captain Nemo Meeno.
  5. For the past few hours, I've been trying to make a decent decal for the torsos of a few of my minifigs. However, it has not been working out well... I cannot describe exactly what I am trying to create, as it is based off the uniform (in my head) that certain characters in a novel I am writing wear. Let's just say it is along the lines of a kimono... So, what I really am trying to achieve is the "wrinkle" effect that you see in the printing of most modern LEGO torso designs. As seen here: Note: look to the bottom of her kimono/dress for the creases/wrinkles... The "kimono" I am designing is less feminine, and completely white... so I can't just really copy the design of this one... So, does anyone have any advice on how to achieve the wrinkle/crease effect that LEGO uses to make the printing of their torsos look like actually worn clothing...such as the subtle lines on the second layer of her dress/kimono? And or any other tricks that LEGO uses when designing their torsos... Thanks, ~Deme PS: Hoping I posted this in the right sub-forum.
  6. I love how I always feel like I am shopping at the virtual store for an RPG video game when I go to your site. Wonderful items! Definitely will look into purchasing a few in the near future!
  7. My favorite LEGO ship thus far. This is just amazing...especially because it was originally an LDD project... So glad it came to life so well. :)
  8. Incredible! I love everything from the subtle curve of the bridge, to the transition between an oceanic blue gradient into the clear water of the bay. Fantastic work!
  9. I'm not a total expert, but personally I loved this MOC. I love how it is a great creation, yet still feels amateur (in a good way). What I mean to say is that It seems like a product of just following your ABS plastic heart, as opposed to something that required extreme planning. Excellent work! It goes into the hall of fame of first MOCS, in my book at least.
  10. In my personal opinion, the Galactic Titan is the best $100 set that's been released in the last 5-7 years... I definitely look forward to purchasing it, as it gives you "a lot of bang for your buck." Usually, I am only impressed with sets priced $150 and higher... So glad I've found an exception!
  11. Excellent review! This is truly a remarkable set, and I feel that you've communicated every single detail that we needed in order to form an accurate opinion of how great of a set this truly is.
  12. I couldn't help but notice that you have not been informed that they are saving Ninjago... Here: https://community.lego.com/t5/NINJAGO/Important-Ninjago-Announcement/td-p/4461464 Hope it brings an ease to your Lego-theme induced suffering. ;) I am interested in this... I think I will probably end up building my own before I convince myself to attempt to get it though... I am a victim of SCD (Severe Customization Disorder) ;) Never satisfied with what Lego designs... I always prefer to create my own projects.
  13. I love this. :o
  14. I am so jealous of this army. Amazing.. .:o Perfect size for medium-sized missions, love the story too. ;)
  15. I love this... It is really in the X-Mas spirit. <3 I especially love what you did for the tree, nice work.
  16. This is very helpful! I am glad that people are kind enough to put this page in their "sig". :)
  17. D: Yeah, but I wonder if it is actually worth the money... The big ships aren't very classy, so all I want is the minifig parts... particularly, their sheaths! Anyone know if those sheaths will be in any other set?
  18. Here is my entry... I call it: Red is the new Prison Orange; Santa receives justice! Santa shakes the hand of a police officer that has apprehended four Santa Claus impersonators... He has been a good boy this year, eh?
  19. I love what Lego is doing with modular buildings, however, I would like for them to make smaller ones so I could afford them easily... Anyhow, what sealed the deal that their Golden Age is currently occurring is when they started making licensed Pirates of the Caribbean sets! Before, they were solely produced by Megablocks... -and I have many of those old mb sets... I really want to get my hands on the Lego ones before they are gone though. :/ If it is too difficult to find my answer in that paragraph: Lego is in its Golden Age right now...
  20. Hmm, I grew up with Legos, so I never think about those sort of things... My previous collection is still with me as well, not that I am LEGALLY done growing up yet. ;) However, I can get that they can be frustrating at first... If you really want a starter Lego set, I'd go for DUPLO, or just really Big bricks, even Megablocks (PLEASE DON'T SHOOT ME FOR MENTIONING THE NAME) if you would like, in the process of learning, it hasn't a difference in the earliest stages... When I was younger, I never had Duplo. I had a mixture of generic Lego buckets, and generic Megablocks buckets. Approach Lego more like an architectural feat for the most satisfying feeling once your project is done... And creator sets are very usable... Just reassemble them any way you like. Lego was made to only be limited by your imagination. ~Dem PS: If for some reason I was a little vague in my words, I apologize.
  21. I'd go with the batman option, less cartoonish in my opinion, and better bricks for war mocs... Also, the sensei in TMNT looks like he is wearing a dress in that one set.. .-.
  22. While this is randomly off topic, I have a quick question... Where is the cheapest place to get a big lot, at least 20, lego books? The pieces, such as those in the Harry Potter sets...
  23. I am thinking about getting it, and converting it into an ancient tower with modern decorations... Or maybe just leave it as it is. Is this a good buy? Or do you think that there are better sets that can do this? ~Dem
  24. Thank you to both of you. They really need to get their (tries to think of a word without profanity, but fails -you fill in the blank- :/ ) together... I mean I was without access for so long... think of the many users that could be keeping their website active, yet might become inactive because they have no patience, which would be word because "moc-ing" does require patience...
