  1. It looks really good! Just a shame that Lego doesn't produce a better 6-wide windshield.
  2. As others have already said, the color is fantastic. I'm also a major fan of the music/lighting combo and just subbed to your channel. However, I have to ask- wouldn't the hinges interfere with combining it with other modular buildings? I've had it in my head for a while now that the modulars make a good shopping district, but that a neighborhood area behind them would work well.
  3. You definitely need to break up the brown- the official modulars tend to use light and dark bley striping, contrasting color striping, and detail bricks in order to do this.
  4. Fantastic! It actually looks exactly like what I imagined going into this post.
  5. Very nice! My only (hopefully) constructive criticism is that the awnings on the top level seem to just hang there on the inside- would it be possible to squeeze any other 'supports' in there?
  6. Absolutely fantastic use of color! The facades are very nice too, but my main criticism is that they are too busy. I think the Bike Shop mod has the best mix of ornateness and blandness (not the best choice of word, but just imagine the opposite of ornate). The railroad shop just seems to have too much going on at the front to fall into the pseudo-realistic format of the other modular buildings (unless you don't care about that, in which case I do think that it works in a 'sensory overload' sort of way). The newspaper shop also comes close to having a very nice balance, but I feel that it is missing something in the transition between the second and third floors. I personally would try to separate them more with a layer of light bley bricks directly underneath the tan slopes My recommendation for the buildings in general would be to try and distill what you want to do with the buildings into a few central ideas/bits instead of trying to cram in every detail possible. Less is more! :P But I think one of the ways that the official modulars pull that off is with the use of muted colors in greys, whites, tans, and the more earthy colors.
  7. That's awesome! Is it supposed to be like a corner modular with connections on the portalet, or are there only connections on the back of the building?
  8. Perhaps make the entire bottom fender sloped and use 1x1 trans clear plates for the headlights, like this?
  9. I dig it, especially the stripe. However, I feel like it's missing in the headlights department. Maybe a similar technique to the 'new' rally car would work? Edit: Much like this- http://motortorque.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Group-B-Lancia-Rally-037.jpg
  10. Heh, it's kinda funny to see all those extended modulars and then the regular ol' Green Grocer. I really enjoy that park setup though!
  11. It looks awesome! What sort of source material are you working from?

  15. Thanks a bunch!
  16. Thanks a whole lot! Those little scenes were my favourite part of the MOC, glad you guys liked it!
  17. Oops! Glad you caught that, thanks! The deed has been done, now everyone will just have to go to the Flickr page to see the deleted pictures!
  18. is rejoycing his Knighthood!

  19. As long as Lego doesn't deem the concept too violent (I don't thinjk it is, but then again, I've never played Portal! ), and figure that it would be too hard to market, I think this set has a good chance of passive reveiw. It'll be interesting to see what they do.
  20. Thanks for both games, I had fun, and learned a lot!
  21. You also have things like this in real life as well: for example, in Jacksonville Beach (Near where I live), there are 1-2 story beach hotels next to giant, multi-story skyscrapers. The solutionto this is spacing. The smaller structures are far enough away from the larger ones so as to not cause a major visual issue. The same is done with parks and such in towns that are in a terraced style: The parks and the 'Modular' (Terraced) buildings are at least 1 street apart from one another.
  22. I saw this first on BTT, and instantly reconised it as yours, Alex. It's brilliant. The glass awning, great use of the garage door peices, and that ornate design at the top of building is simply amazing. Great luck in the contest, and thanks for shairing this with us!
  23. If the last two reveals are anything to go off of, I'm betting that this will be revealed at the beginning of next month. Can't wait!
  24. Thanks for all of the complements!
