  1. Perfect name for a stables, especially when combined with that shield for a sign Cool combination of stone and wood, and the building looks even better when shown by the Manor
  2. Looks like a productive work site! Cool scaffolding and I like the way you are showing roof repairs A granary being rebuilt is a great idea for this challenge
  3. @Ragni Norgrimson Very cool design! Those new 1/2 circle tiles are so useful
  4. Thanks! That's a great suggestion, that I'll have to keep in mind for feature hinging models Thank you, I enjoy building in different styles to try different things, and working without wall texture just purposeful detailing is a fun exercise Thanks! Thank you Gabe, hinging buildings are a lot of fun and a great way of showing interiors Thanks Josiah! I'm glad you noticed the round shields in the wall, as that was one of my favorite details. Thanks dG Thank you Grover! I like very orderly architecture for dwarven models - with lots of square edges and angles. Thanks! The windows gave me a little trouble at first, as I wanted stained glass but with a pointed arch. Eventually some sideways cheese under the inverted slopes worked out well. Thanks Titus! It's a simple design for the corner columns that we'll cover in a tutorial at some point. Thanks Colin. I tried some other more complicated solutions for the four sided roof first, but was having trouble getting the proper slope without a lot of gaps. So eventually I settled on the cheese as I needed to finish the build, and actually liked this more than any of my other attempts Thank you HQ! Certainly way smoother than most Castle builds these days, which was definitely intentional here. I like switching things up a bit in my various builds, so that I don't get bored with any specific style. You can remove the corner cheese at each layer and replace them with 1x1 tiles or round plates, but I liked all cheese better for this particular building. The roof is likely the weakest section of the house though.
  5. Good choice of colors for the landscape and the crooked lantern poles are great Hard to tell who's carrying who with horses that small though
  6. This story just keeps getting better! Perhaps Lady Tisha has met her match in Fizzum The floor technique is nifty, and I like how you used tooth plates for the overhanging tablecloth on the bar
  7. Good work guys! I've updated the scorecard again
  8. @The Stad Excited to see that finished! Looks like a really rugged castle, and the floor patterns are terrific @Bracari Another cool build! Glad to see you continuing in AoM
  9. That gold banana use is nice Looks like a powerful beast, and you did well capturing the feathered wing look. I think the base works pretty well, besides one portion of what looks to be tan bricks (?) in the bottom most layer of SNOT black bricks. That particular section seems out of place compared to the studs up landscape.
  10. Yep, I used to share Challenge WIPs myself quite often! Before I got lazy
  11. It's a lot of fun reading through the family's backstories and seeing what sort of relationships they have with each other Good vignettes that also tell more about each family member's characteristics. I'm excited to see more of the Khaor family

  13. I enjoy building in the Dwarven style, and have made a fair amount of Dwarven scenes over the years, but not any recently. Which made it a great time to experiment with another building. I also got back into the habit of including full interiors. The corner pillar design is a modified version of a technique used in the Disney Castle. Eryl has many friends in Harburg, but one of his closest companions is Danyel: the son of a Dwarven merchant. Despite being nearly the same age as Eryl, Danyel already shows signs of having a fine Dwarven beard in the years to come. When they have some free time, the two boys enjoy exploring the forests and mountains around Harburg or playing mischievous pranks. It must be admitted that most of the latter are Eryl's ideas, and he can just about always convince Danyel to help him carry out his tricks. See more pictures on Brickbuilt. Felt great to do some building for Mitgardia again!
  14. Gabe returns! You're still a master Kaliphlin builder. Spot on architecture and patterns I particularly like the thick walls, and window seat with cushion The various printed tiles and shield on the walls are lovely too. Naturally the Mitgardian model is super cool The low wooden wall by the dock looks great, and is something I can't recall seeing done before. Neat touch having an actual separate base for the tower, only connected by the lovely bridge And both roofs are superb!
  15. Super cool Avalonian armies You have some unique combinations that make good use of newer parts, yet everything still fits well with the Avalonian style
  16. Wonderful storytelling! Great to see you going to the effort of making several small scenes, just to properly illustrate the storyline Zamorah itself is hugely impressive Beautiful houses, castle towers and walls, and the rock formation... One other thing I really like about this model is the display border. Often times its hard to make a good looking highly detailed border without distracting from the actual model. Yours works perfectly
  17. Dark blue is a fun color to work with, but can be frustrating due to the parts limitations. You did really well using it as the main color for the dragon I like your wave effect too, I think it does convey motion well
  18. Superb series of vignettes, and the accompanying descriptions give a great picture of the D'Gatto Family Neat bench and dark tan podium in Abelia's scene, and the large column by Stena is lovely
  19. Very good use of tan and dark tan Unique roof setup that fits well for Varlyrio. Excellent telescope design as well!
  20. 4x4 Dish Dome Tutorial
  21. Thanks guys @Titus: That looks like quite a job! More basic bricks are always useful though
  22. The dark orange looks very nice amidst the tan sand I like the use of prefab tan bushes as well, don't think I had seen them in regular tan before
  23. I'm not sure what else there is to say about this build... It is truly a stunning nature scene, from the trees to the rock and dirt, and especially the stream Great diversity of plants, but nothing looks out of place. The Avalonian team pulled off another marvelous collab entry this year
