  1. Joker looks pretty good. I would have rather his suit match the Cesar Romero Joker if we are to get another variation, but I can live with this version (I'm curious about what they're basing it on). Really though the reason to have this figure is for the new expression, it is very fitting. I really hope it's a double sided head, but somehow I doubt it as Lego sometimes doesn't when the headgear won't cover it.
  2. Correct, that picture comes from a short that was aired during Batman The Brave and Bold as seen here:
  3. I'm very pleased with how Batgirl turned out, she looks much better than she did in either games. And the color selection is perfect, gold, black and purple look great together. I will agree the printing is a little busy. If we get a cape that's purple on the inside and black on the outside than she'll be perfect. Loving the new mold for the mask, it looks better than I could have imagined. I'm very happy they gave her a normal head, that makes it usable elsewhere. I only wish there was boot printing, but I suppose we can't have everything.
  4. The current contract runs through 2014 I believe. More than likely they'll renew some point within the next 6 to 9 months as they have to plan the sets out far in advance. And it's unlikely Lego will end the theme. Superheroes are super profitable right now. It would be horrendously stupid to cut that cash flow off.
  5. Well R2 has a joint there in the movies, so really it would just be for accuracy I guess, and slightly more poseability options (I would like them to at least add the third foot one day). And I never said they should do it. Nor do I think they ever will. I was just discussing whether or not such a joint is possible or not. It was just a hypothetical scenario.
  6. I don't see why they couldn't just make a piece that works like the hip joint. Make it into two pieces. The leg piece that connects to the main body and then a foot piece that clicks onto the bottom of the leg piece like the leg piece fits onto the hip piece of a minifigure. Perhaps something like this: http://www.flickr.co...07/9731215285/ While I don't think it's likely Lego will ever add a joint there, I do think that such a joint is possible. I mean if we can put a man on the moon... Lol.
  7. I can't imagine them not renewing it. They seem to sell very well and the games and movies they make for them are pretty well received. And with both sides of the theme having big movies in the future it would be stupid to not renew.
  8. I doubt it as well. But I'm willing to think it's a possibility, Lego has surprised me before, and who knows they might have figured out a way to do it (After all they managed to make Iron Man's mask hinge open). If anything they could at least make the molding more detailed, even adding some printing to the legs would be a step up.
  9. I'd guess the set amounts is set when they write up a contract, so it will probably increase when they renew the rights. Plus they were probably playing it safe, slowly building up the theme. If you start small and go bigger each time it's easier to keep on impressing the consumer.
  10. The printing looks slightly different to me. The most notable part is the new legs which seem to be adjustable at the foot. I can't say we'll get an actual R2 with new parts, but I suppose if we actually get the Grevious featured in the short than it might be possible we'll get the R2 as well (Without chrome presumably). Anyways we could use a new R2 unit, we've only ever had different printing over the years, a revision in the mold might be good.
  11. I sort of doubt we'll see a variation of Harley Quinn that completely matches her new 52 look. It is a little bit much for a child's toy. I'm sure we'll see something new 52 inspired, but definitely a toned down version at best. Either way I hope we get a hairpiece matching Harley's new 52 look.
  12. Really? That was a weird decision to say the least. At least it's a cheap option to play 3ds games.
  13. I'm intrigued. This seems to be Nintendo's way of competing with the tablet market, hence the squared tablet look. Though they would have been better off making one big screen rather than two, that would have made it look better. Plus it's cheaper, so this has a moderate chance of making money despite the insanely stupid name.
  14. Well, I would rather have an actual theme based around Futurama, but with no chance of that happening CUUSOO is really the only other option at this point.
  15. I seriously doubt Lego would ever make a Futurama theme to begin with. While it does have a good cult following it has always under performed in the mainstream media. Though who knows maybe the next time it gets picked up it will actually do better and gain a good audience (Matt Groening seems to think he can get another network to pick it up, which is always a possibility). But for now there's no chance of an actual theme, minifigures or otherwise. However I could definitely see it passing as a CUUSOO set someday. A Planet Express ship set would be a perfect set. I like both.
  16. All of the Batman stuff is loosely inspired by something, but rarely is it directly based on anything (Other than movie specific stuff mostly). In the Arkham set the sign and logo and a few of the minifigures definitely seem to have been influenced by the game, but are not supposed to represent that game. A few design elements served as inspiration which is why although similar to the Arkham stuff it still ends up being a unique variation.
  17. I'm okay with licensed collectible minifigures so long as they give us characters we can't get in a set. I would be severely disappointed if they just recycled minifigures from the sets. This is actually a good way for Lego to give us additional variations and smaller characters that we probably wouldn't have ever seen in a set.
  18. I'm actually okay with this casting despite how awful Daredevil was. I don't think he's quite right for Batman, but I imagine he'll be a good Bruce Wayne. Plus after Val Kilmer and George Clooney I honestly feel like nobody could be worse than them. I'm really hoping they make Batman's suit closer to the comics. I'm tired of this all black armor thing Batman's been sporting since 89. How hard is it to have a good mix between gray and black. I'm also hoping we get something close in plot to World's Finest from the animated series (So Joker and Lex Luther as villains, with sidekicks Harley Quinn and Mercy Graves).
  19. That Green Goblin minifigure is awesome. I really hope we see some of this stuff in actual sets. Some of the vehicles look really good.
  20. The steamroller sounds interesting and I'm definitely in favor of a new 52 Nightwing. Hopefully we get Batgirl, she's been at the top of my wanted list for a while.
  21. You might as well open it, if the bags are opened inside and somethings missing than just return it. Honestly the retailer should take it back if anything is missing. If they don't then the next best thing is to ask for the manager and lodge a complaint against them for failing to take care of their inventory. If all else fails you can always contact Lego for replacement pieces. If it is indeed a small rip then there's probably nothing to worry about. Usually when someone steals minifigures they open the thing up completely and the pieces from the bags are loose inside and usually they don't even bother to seal the box again.
  22. I hadn't seen that minifigure. I had heard they weren't able to print on the flat top part of the foot, which is why they had to make WW legs red, but seeing that I guess Lego finally was able to do it. So I guess there is no good excuse for Lego not having the boots. Now this makes me wonder why they were so lazy with the boot printing on SDCC Spider-man (The red legs don't look good and no printing on the sides). Now it just seems lazy that they didn't print on boots for the MOS stuff.
  23. After seeing the designs in the video game I'm hoping when we get X-men sets they use those designs. Also the Green Goblin minifigure is great, I'm glad they went with classic Goblin over the crappy USM one. Unfortunately they haven't really perfected the technique as the legs would have to be the color of the boots as they can't print on the one bottom portion of the leg nor the back. So on a figure like the Flash he would have bright yellow legs which would look terrible, especially from the back. I'm sure once they figure out a better solution we'll start seeing more boots printed on.
  24. I'm a bit disappointed by how the Batman printing turned out. The belt looks rather plain, it's odd that they didn't use gold printing or anything. It just looks underwhelming. Maybe it will look a bit different in the final set. And the more I see the Riddler the more I'm disappointed. That jacket is awful.
  25. She seems like a bit of a vigilante so I would guess Wyldstyle is just her persona while Lucy is her secret identity.
