  1. Thanks. I really only wondered since the Flash looks his new 52 look and Batman looked similar. Honestly I find it odd that they put BTB, 52 Flash and this different Riddler all together in the same set since there isn't a whole lot of design connection. I feel like usually the figures all come from similar source materials while this set sort of takes from some very different things. It almost seems like at one point the Flash and Riddler were intended to be a separate smaller set from the BTB stuff. It just seems a bit odd.
  2. I really like the new style of mask they chose for Flash. Personally the thing I dislike most about the video game's Flash and the current Batman cowl is just that it's too bucket like. I hope that sometime in the future we get a redesigned cowl in this style. I really hated the new Batmobile at first, but it's grown on me. Really it's not as bad as I first thought, I'm still not thrilled about the gold and orange coloring, but I suppose it's not as bad as bright yellow.
  3. But do we have any official confirmation on that? I mean it does look very similar to BTB Batman but I can't help but feel like it looks a little bit like the new 52 version.
  4. We need better pictures of this set. Is it possible this is a new 52 version of Batman?
  5. There is always that possibility. It certainly is pretty standard to withhold details. And honestly if all they have to show is one set I would be really disappointed. Honestly I'm already disappointed about SW, I really don't want to be disappointed by SH as well.
  6. If indeed this is the case hopefully they'll give us more variety in the sets (Though so far it seems to be more of the same). I'm tired of Ep3 ships, a few location based sets would be nice (The fight in the senate particularly comes to mind, jedi temple and so on). Plus it would be nice if we got a few supporting characters this time around (Bail Organa, Padme and Jucasta nu).
  7. I wouldn't mind Lego using some of the new 52 looks for the new minifigures. I would really like a new 52 version of Wonder Woman (I don't like the exact colors they used on the minifigure). Harley Quinn as well just because I like her new 52 look.
  8. Look at the Riddlers neck, there's a gold piece between his head and the engine.
  9. That wookiee is nice. I hope they make a new version of Chewbacca at some point, he could use a bit of an upgrade.
  10. The gold piece is interesting. Perhaps he's holding a gold cane. Maybe that's a little wishful, but it's position makes it seem like it's something he's holding as there wouldn't be a whole lot of places to attach a piece on the engine block.
  11. Honestly more than anything else I'm just confused. I can understand giving a character a gimmicky vehicle for the sake of giving them a vehicle, but the jacket just doesn't make sense. Usually these minifigures are based on something (movie/TV/comics) but this variation seems to be something they just made up. I mean it's possible this version of the Riddler is set to appear in something down the line (A DTV movie maybe, an appearance in a show or something), but for right now this variation just doesn't make sense. It just seems too specific to just be random, there had to be some reason Lego decided to do this. And if this design is in reference to something than I'll be understanding about it. If however it's just something they came up with I'm a bit disappointed as there are real variations of that character I would prefer. At least we get the green hat I suppose... I am excited about this Batman variation, it looks good.
  12. I hope so, they look pretty good. Plus I would like another Robin variation.
  13. I wouldn't call one set milking BTB. It's not even directly a BTB set, they just threw in a BTB Batmobile and Batman. Plus Flash and Riddler are not in BTB so obviously it's not directly related to the show (Just Lego's way of cashing in on it without having to commit to a full theme). And we'll get a GL eventually. we now have five members of the Justice League, Lego is just taking it's time.
  14. Or remove the Batmobile and make it a $10 set (Because who needs another Batmobile).
  15. I think what mostly bothers me about the dragster is that I don't recall Riddler ever having one, I don't even really associate him with any vehicles. It just seems like a random decision for Lego to say "well of course the Riddler has a dragster." That aside though I do like the design overall. The Batmobile definitely bothers me. It seems no matter how wide Lego makes it you can never fit more than one figure in it, which is funny considering most of the time the Batmobile has room for two people. For once I'd like a Batmobile where Batman doesn't need to tie passengers to the roof to bring anyone along for the ride.
  16. That certainly is some of the reason I want him. The main reason for me is that I feel he's an important member of the bat family. I just feel that the bat family is incomplete without him. Without him and Batgirl my collection just feels incomplete. Plus Nightwing was a core member of the Teen Titans and being a fan of that franchise I naturally want Nightwing (And the other members). I really like him as a character and would like a chance to have him in Lego form (Also I think the original Nightwing figure looks less than great and would prefer a better looking one).
  17. Originally it was created by Sony, but eventually the television rights for Spiderman were bought by Disney. Unfortunately Disney decided to cancel it and create a new show which was a rather stupid move considering it was critically acclaimed and ended on a cliffhanger (Like every Spidey show seems too).
  18. Well Flash's mask has the lightning bolts that are at the sides while on CA he just has a pattern on the sides, so that's why we needed a piece for the mask. And they create single use molds all the time. Superman and Wonder Woman have hair that could only work on them. Catwoman (In fact we've had two versions of that mask), Batman (Also two molds for this mask) and Iron Man have masks that only work on them. Plus many other characters have received a character specific headpiece with limited use. Lego does this all the time.
  19. They cancelled Spectacular Spider man for Ultimate Spider man. A bad move on Disney's part for sure. And you certainly are right that they wouldn't spend millions of dollars on these rights not to use them.
  20. They'd make more money off movie sets than show sets. It's as simple as that. And doing a wave of ASM sets doesn't mean Disney's done with USM, all it would mean is they want to quickly cash in on the movie. They'd still be putting out USM stuff in between movies. Fact is that owning just the merchandising rights is a slam dunk for Disney, the movie they didn't have to pay for is just a big commercial for the toys they'll put out. They would be stupid not to make ASM sets.
  21. I haven't liked the other two variations we've had of him, so for me I can live with this. Personally I'm thrilled they gave him a green hat and suit this time. Now all I need is a redesigned Poison Ivy (The lime color bothers me).
  22. I don't think it's the beginning of a BTB theme either. Personally I think the designs in the show look terrible and I really don't need a line based around it. I would assume, like the previous Batman sets, it'll just borrow design elements from whatever is popular or notable currently, sort of like the more Arkham city inspired stuff we got this year.
  23. I don't think it's truly intended to be a BTB set. I just think it's borrowing a few design elements to sort of promote the show. Batgirl certainly is a possibility and a figure I would like to see, but the overall shape of the cowl looks very much the same as Batman's and it would be a waste to have a Batgirl using that cowl considering it wouldn't look right at all.
  24. I agree it's probably the BTB suit, but it seems a little to blurry to say for sure.
  25. He's in there, but honestly it's not good enough quality to really make out the details.
