  1. Kind of a mixed bag design wise. Some like Bulbasaur, Bidoof, Eevee actually translate pretty well. The pokemon that stand on 2 legs are pretty hit or miss to me, a lot of weird looking proportions and odd design decisions. Pikachu and other with arms that just end on a stud look pretty unfinished (or like their paw was cut off 😰). A generic paw piece that could hold a bar would have gone a long way here. Tails look pretty weak on these too. The stud/antistuds on Pikachus tail doesn't look great. The Smart Bricks are definitely integrated much better into the Pokémon designs then they were for Star Wars. Though having light up crotches on some of the Pokémon feels strange... I might buy a few of these on sale. But otherwise I think I'll only buy the minifigure sets.
  2. Gengar and Cubone look good mostly. Jigglypuffs arms look bad and the eyes seem off. Geodudes arms look bad. Charmander is a complete misfire. The builds that come with the Pokémon look bad. Megabloks did this concept better.
  3. 3 of the smart brick sets leaked... Lego why did you do this?
  4. New pics leaked of the sets and we're both wrong, the body is just a new mould entirely! Looks like it's a new toddler sized minifigure body, bigger than the baby but smaller than a child. It has standard minifigure hands and uses the standard minifigure head. Legs might be removable or they're dual molded, hard to say at this point. The sets look great too Edit: you beat me to it lol
  5. I definitely think Peach and Toad will be in wave 1. I expect there will be a decent amount of new head moulds. I wonder if them phasing out/scaling back on Animal Crossing may have been to make way for minifigure Mario sets. What I would like to see with wave 1: I'd like wave 1 to start in the Mushroom Kingdom. I'd love to see Peach's Castle as a big set, maybe under attack by Bowser in the Koopa Clown Car, and of course plenty of Mario 64 references A Toad Town set with at least a house and a shop would be great. I'd also love to get Mario's house from Super Mario RPG (or at least something like it) A new pipe piece compatible with the existing cylinder tube pieces to represent the traditional Mario pipe. The existing straight cylinder piece would work for the Mario pipe outside of the block/studs that sticks out of the sides. It would also be great to get a new plate piece that has a connection for the cylinder so they can be angled vertically through a plate I'd like to see some of the brick built characters return, but updated to be slightly less blocky when possible. I like a lot of the brick built enemies they made in the past, a lot of them looked great, so I'd definitely like to see brick built characters remain a part of the theme when possible I hope they use the new 2x2 container piece with hinged lid for the ? box and other item boxes. I like the proportions of that box better than what they've used in the past
  6. I would love it if this set were actually based on Strange New Worlds, but I know that's almost definitely not the case... It would be great if the build was the bridge and then perhaps a micro build of the ship (because I refuse to buy a gigantic ship)
  7. I watched the video again, it really looks like the baby body to me; head to torso width looks consistent with the baby body and arms stuck out forward like that mold too
  8. It kinda looks like he uses the baby body. Does that mean we have our first hat piece for the baby head? (I don't really count the space helmet since that's one piece really)
  9. Minifigure scale Eevee leaked and looks really good. This does make me wonder how many Pokémon molds we'll get this year. I would love a yearly cmf for Pokémon.
  10. Hello all, in honor of the new Rifftrax episodes of MST3K I've put together this special project to celebrate: https://beta.ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/c65a9d6d-551b-41da-a760-20a647574f86
  11. Mario looks pretty good. I'm not usually a fan of molded heads, but I think this one turned out alright, with how they chose to do it. Torso is slightly too plain, needs some wrinkles or seams printed. Also the regular legs seem a bit tall for him, granted maybe this is supposed to be Mario after eating a mushroom. Now if they can just give me Peaches Castle and a cannon to shoot Mario onto the roof...
  12. I mean, the leaked set list for summer is only 1-2 Pokémon per set, so I didn't think my suggestion was particularly outlandish.
  13. Pikachu looks rough, but Eevee and the others look good. Too bad I have no interest in Pokémon statues. Please Lego, give us some minifigure scale sets. I would love to get Animal Crossing style builds for Pokémon Centers, Gyms and other buildings from the Kanto Region with minifigures of the gym leaders and other game characters. It would just suck to get a bunch of brick built Pokémon and nothing else.
  14. At this point i don't even want minifigures, just give me a brick built figure like Wario for all the digifig characters.
  15. I'm not sure that's the Batgirl hair, it looks sorta like it has bangs. It does sorta look like an updo, but i think that bit in the back might be a brick behind her head on the build. To me it looks like long hair swept over her shoulders, but I could be wrong. I'd love to get a new hairpiece that actually represents her hairstyle from this movie.
  16. The shuttle looks great, too bad it's a gwp. Guess I'll try to get it from a reseller. The Enterprise is cool, I just have no want/space for it. If they ever make playsets I'd definitely buy those though.
  17. I ended up selling my great hall as I don't have the space for this new Hogwarts in entirety (nor the budget). But I might get the hospital wing if the DADA classroom looks good as that's my favorite classroom.
  18. That's a good question, there's no competing products for that one, so I'm guessing there was some other type of holdup. I can really only speculate, it could be a number of things. Perhaps the licensing took time to negotiate, or maybe they spent a longer period refining the design for production. Maybe they'll give us some additional information eventually. I am really excited for the Downton set.
  19. It was licensed by another brick company for the 40th anniversary. I'm guessing they have to wait for that license to expire.
  20. I don't hate it, the vibe just doesn't feel 80s to me.
  21. I think red for Vecna is an okay choice. He's a very detailed character with a lot of color variation and texture, 2 things that a minifigure will always struggle to capture. They could have gone with a flesh tone as a base, but then he'd probably look nude, so red is probably the safer choice. I think most of the kids look good, but the older teens look pretty off, and that's solely to do with either faces or hair choices. Robin looks the worst to me. Her face just doesn't look right at all, it's a generic reuse. Her hair is a complete misfire. The color just doesn't make sense at all, her hair might have auburn to it, but not anywhere enough to prompt them using orange. This feels like a cost cutting choice because this piece already exists in this color. Personally I think they should have either gone with Nova's hairpiece or New Hope Luke Skywalker hair in dark tan. I will replace her face and hair immediately when I get the set. Nancy's face is okay, but the hair choice feels off, is that the Gabby hairpiece? Jonathon is a misfire on the hair completely, way too light. The face could really use some lines under the eyes. Steve's hair is perfect, the face is weird. The cheekbones make him look too old. As for the younger teens, I kind of wish they'd used mid legs. I get that these people are now adults, but in the show they're not. And some of them are genuinely just short in comparison to the other characters, so I feel like midlegs may have better represented their age differences. But the regular legs are also a valid choice, just a matter of preference.
  22. As far i can tell they got the name from zooming in on the names on top of the box. They recognized the Mr. W and thought it was Mr. Wheeler, but then they examined it again and came to the conclusion that it says Mr. Whatsit.
  23. Apparently the top of the box calls him Mr. Whatsit.
  24. When I googled Holly in in ST5 I immediately came across an image of her with this character in this costume. So in ST5.
