I'm more than a little confused as to why the Batwing folds up like that. That seems to serve little to no purpose. Well at least it gives some useful pieces if anything else. The steamroller is awesome. Great colors, great pieces and great design. But of course the real reason to get this set is the minifigures. Damian Wayne and Batgirl are top notch and definitely the better looking minifigures this wave. Joker and his henchman wasn't needed, but at least are good enough to be worthwhile. I'm disappointed they didn't use this as an opportunity to give us a new 52 Batman (As a lot of the new figures seem to be drawing inspiration from it). The Penguin set looks awesome other than I think Batman and his Jet-ski are a wasted variation and a wasted vehicle. But that new Penguin is so good looking I can overlook it. The Riddler chase is fine, but definitely could have used another round of revisions before hitting the shelves. Riddler's vehicle and outfit is good looking, but misguided since it relates in little to no way to what Riddler would actually wear and ride. I'm more used to the Batmobile now, though it's still not the variation I wanted.

Seeing more images I'm rather impressed by the theme. There are definitely improvements to be made in later waves, but overall a good start.

I think the expressions are at least pretty characteristic for Han. I'm usually a bit iffy on cheekbones, but I think this is at least acceptable, I think it at least looks a tad bit better than that rather bland face we currently have. Then again after seeing Lois Lane's terrible cheekbones this year anything is bound to look better in comparison. I will say that it would probably have looked better if they had matched him with a better hairpiece. This current one really has worn out its welcome for me. I'll definitely be swapping out that hair, perhaps with the Barista's hair from the Lego Movie minifigures.

Glad to see a new Palpatine. I thought the face from the last one had sort of a limited use considering one side was angry and the other angrier. Plus it's not that terribly often we get variations of him, so I'll jump at the chance to get him. It is nice to see some printed elements in this set, all the vital stuff at least. The Microfighters are interesting. I might get the AAT, just because I'm to cheap to hunt down an actual one. I'm definitely excited for the Millennium Falcon, it's a good looking build. Also that Han has a new face print, and it looks pretty good. For once the cheekbones actually look pretty good. Hopefully it's double-sided, a smirk on the other side would be perfect. To bad they didn't take this chance to find a better hairpiece for him. Otherwise it's a spot on representation.

I don't really think it was Lego's decision. As far as I can tell DC and Marvel control the content of this line pretty well, and only allow Lego to use certain characters and certain movies for sets. Honestly if Lego had free reign of characters than this theme would be greatly different. And it seems to me that no Thor sets was Marvels decision. When I look around at the stores in my area there is little to no merchandising for it. The only action figures I've seen are on Amazon. It seems to me that Marvel has become a bit selective with how well they merchandise their franchises. I don't know why the merchandising for the movie has been so underwhelming, but it's definitely Marvels fault there's a lack of anything.

Keep dreaming... I'm okay with that design. I would have rather had a removable mask. It occurs to me how Iron Man is the only Avenger (With the exception of Hulk) that actually has a specially molded piece to wear on his head. Everyone else has awful hairpieces/masks that aren't particularly fitting at all. I greatly hope they rectify that in the future. LOTR and Hobbit have had an onslaught of new hairpieces and yet I can't get a hairpiece that works for Thor and Black Widow.

I would have wanted Thor the dark world minifigures, but not sets. Having seen the movie I envision that line of sets would have looked as underwhelming as the Iron Man 3 stuff. If there were sets I'd either want Malekith's ship or the Asgard palace, and both of those things would have looked awful at a price point under $100 dollars. And locations like the Bifrost or Greenwich wouldn't have made it just because of Lego's aversion for location based sets (And the Bifrost is too complicated, despite how awesome it looks). I guess they could have done battle packs, but I really don't buy those. I'm sad to miss out on minifigures for the movie, but not sad to miss out on what probably would have been some mediocre sets. Maybe they at least could have made that Asgard skiff, that probably would have looked awesome.

Okay, to the recent posters he changed the image because of my complaint. Here's his: Here's mine: As you can see he clearly used the torso. When I upload to deviantart I use a creative commons license for my work. When I create a piece of work that uses an existing copyrighted character I use a share alike license, like I did for this particular design. This enables people to use my designs freely so long as they attribute and then share their art in like manner. So another words if people are going to use my picture or some part of it I would appreciate it if they would give a mention and that they likewise freely share the work they base off of it. This guy took my design, cropped the torso and slapped it onto his design then put his logo on it saying it was a "FishDesign" and even better he has his own license stating that "all rights reserved." He couldn't even follow the share alike clause. My problem is that he followed neither requests and is trying to pass it off as his own when really it was my own hard work that went into that torso design. In fact when I posted on his pictures I told him he could use it so long as he followed the rules in the license. Instead he deleted the comments and quickly threw together another design. He didn't have to at all had he just given credit where credit is do and shared alike, but apparently he didn't want to admit he got the torso from someone else. I have no problem with people using my design, but I do have a problem with them claiming they made it themselves when in fact it was my work that went into making it. Also to the recent posters it was stated numerous times that the FishDesign picture had been taken down and changed. So what you see on his flickr is not the original picture. I would be okay if it looked similar, but in this case he just used my picture. Even the errors on mine are present in his such as lines that reach outside the decal and the blue hexagons I forgot to color in. Also mine was submitted in July of 2012. He used it. Didn't give credit. And worst of all lied to his followers by misleading them into thinking he created it himself. I'm perfectly entitled to dislike his actions. And I'm not overreacting on this, my only action was to tell him that he could use it if he followed the rules. Overreacting usually involves over the top behavior, not calm debate on what action I should take next, which was the purpose of this topic.

Thank you everyone. Thanks for all the great suggestions and information. I definitely feel better about the situation and I have a much better idea of what to do in the future. He actually used it in another picture too: http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ I posted a message there saying that he can use it only if he follows the rules that are highlighted in my license. Edit: Success he changed it really quickly. Also he disabled comments for both. I hope he learned a lesson, though I have my doubts. I'm glad. However I find it curious that he decided to change it completely rather than just give me the credit for the torso. Like my creative commons license says he can use it so long as he attributes and shares a like. Oh well, that was his decision I guess. Maybe he just didn't want to admit he didn't make it or something like that. Either way I'm okay with how it turned out.

I don't mind what they did with Rapunzel's hair. There was really no easy way to represent that much hair, it was always going to be shorter than we wanted no matter what they attempted. There may have been a few other lengths they could have tried though. The braid is a good enough solution, and down the line they can always try again. Plus the hairpiece looks good by itself, so at least its reusable.

Here's the simplified explanation for the creative commons license I used: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/

Dick Grayson Robin YAY! I missed out the first time around, so I'm happy to have him. Now if the Robin in the steamroller turns out to be Damian Wayne I will be sold on this wave completely (Even despite some less than great builds). The juniors set is surprisingly good, if that turns out to be printing instead of stickers I will be truly impressed.

I don't know if this exactly the right place to post this. This was a custom minifigure design I made last year. http://strangelyscott.deviantart.com/art/The-Amazing-Lego-Spider-Man-314229526 Today I found this: As you can see it utilizes the torso and arms of my design, with some slight cropping around the edge of the arms. Now I always use a creative commons license and I do allow alterations of my work, specifically when it's in relation to a character whose copyright I do not own. Usually I'm flattered when someone uses my work, but this time I actually feel a bit angry. I didn't realize it at first, but it finally hit me that it makes me angry because they took the torso of my design slapped on a new head and legs and try to pass it off as a "Fish Design." I don't mind people using my work, but it does bother me that this person is trying to pass it off as their own. So I was wondering if anyone else had any similar experiences with this? Even though my creative commons license allows re-mixes should I be a bit angry if a person doesn't give credit or tries to lead people to believe that they made it themselves? Part of me is flattered, but the more I look at that person's logo slapped on that picture the more I feel angry about it. I'm somewhat reconsidering what type of license to use on my work in the future.

Not bad. The new pieces are especially welcomed, the carriage wheels are particularly welcome (Maybe useful for Asgard mocs). Too bad the faces still don't really reflect the characters that well, but the theme is young, so I'm sure all of these characters will be remade countless times and eventually they'll look better. I will say most of the sets look a bit boring too me. I mean I get the impression the Friends theme and the mini dolls are designed more for role-playing and such, and yet they didn't really provide a diverse enough cast of characters for each princess. No villains and few supporting characters seems boring to me. It's not like there are many play features in these sets to begin with. I feel like sooner or later they'll have to include more characters if they want continuing success. I guess the character selection is serviceable for now, but will definitely need to improve in later waves. Edit: I just noticed in the other pictures that there are two variations of Cinderella. How odd.

It could be more accurate is all. It doesn't ruin my opinion of the figure or anything, it could just be better. Plus they'll label this as a "new" figure when really all they've done is change the head. It doesn't really feel new to me when almost everything is the same. This kind of fits under the "with a new hat" category (Pardon the Simpsons reference).

That's my wish for all versions of Anakin. I really just wish they'd sculpt new hairpieces for all three movies he appears in (A padawan hairpiece for episode 2 would have been awesome). I've yet to see a hairpiece that actually portrays him well. I will say the lighter hair is at least an improvement, however the color they used for the first episode 3 variation seemed more accurate to me. I'm surprised they didn't use the Dastan hairpiece, that at least has the length of the hair correct. I also wish they would fix the leg printing, the black parts look too wide to me, it should be more similar to his Episode 2 legs which would look sleeker.

The helmet really doesn't bother me much. I think the visor is sort of weird, but I sort of thought the same thing about it in the movie.

You don't really need to caution us. I don't think there's anybody here that really expects these characters to appear any time soon. More or less we're just discussing what we would like to see in this theme and if it's possible, and it is possible we might see others, just not this year or next. Realistically though we won't see any other characters featured until there's at least one set devoted to every princess in the line-up. After that I think the odds will become better for other non-princess characters. After all Disney likes to make money and if they intend to keep this theme going for multiple years they'll have to vary on what's featured or else it will get stale. In fact should this theme do well I would expect Disney to either expand the current theme or develop another theme to go along with it. I also think that there could be special scenarios where they could include characters like Alice. I know there's promotional art of the Disney princesses having tea with Alice, so I feel like Disney may do scenarios like that just so they can add in characters without taking their focus off the princesses. It's a way of sneaking in variety without shifting focus.

In addition a google search showed me the following. An issue of the official Disney Princess magazine featuring Alice: http://images2.wikia...a4/IMG_0790.jpg Also here's a toy line that featured the princesses and other characters. http://www.amazon.co...ref=pd_sxp_f_pt So yes, it's pretty rare that we see other characters put alongside the Disney Princesses, but it's happened in the past.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
strangely replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well first off this would probably be an updated version with new printing. Second he's a classic. I for one would love to get a new variation of him.- 2,626 replies

Definitely a possibility. Plus it will be 10 years since the last set, so it would be perfect timing for a remake.

Except other non-princess characters have appeared in the line in the past. Particularly in the books and videos characters like Alice have been featured. While it's true they never appear in the toy line they sometimes do appear in the books and sing along videos and such that have been produced. So to say they never appear in any princess merchandising is inaccurate. And I agree that it's unlikely we'll ever see the other characters as a part of this line, but I'm not willing to say it's impossible when other characters have guest starred in the merchandising in the past. I honestly feel that if this line does well than Disney might opt to make another theme focused on other characters. I can only hope anyway...

To me it looked like some of the shorts were using the environment from the game, but I could be wrong. Either way I think there's a plan for a movie or something. They've created 25 minutes of shorts, it would be uncharacteristic of Disney to leave it at that.
