  1. The press release TLG just released is great. It's very humorous how many times they have to state the set is based on a fictional building. Too bad that those offended can't see that.
  2. I'm glad the hair is printed. That's the biggest thing I hated about the CW Yoda (The molded hair was just so distracting).
  3. Has anyone else noticed a variation in the yellow bricks. When I bought the Naboo starfighter last year I noticed that there are two different shades of yellow on mine and it just doesn't look right as some pieces are darker than others making it pretty obvious that they don't match. I've noticed a similar thing with minifigures occasionally, particularly in Spongebob sets where the hands are a bit lighter than the arms and torso.
  4. Isn't Iron Man 3 the only MCU out since the Avengers? I'm betting we'll get something in the same vein as the dark knight rises set, one set released a wave later.
  5. Perhaps this is an attempt by Fox to generate interest in the show again. Or perhaps there's a new movie coming out at some point in the future and the sets are to tie in with that.
  6. Perhaps this is Lego testing to see if they can make a more adult theme. The Simpsons has a wide audience consisting of adults and children. I think Lego recognizes the number of adults who like Lego, but are unsure if they could support purely adult themes which is why they choose themes that work on both levels. The Iron Man franchise features sex, alcoholism, violence (Including murder and torture) and swearing. Fact is that most of the licensed themes are based around things which feature content that is not family friendly. The Simpsons at it's worst hasn't featured anything that these PG-13 films haven't. If Lego does do a Simpsons theme they'll handle it the same way they handle any of the PG-13 films, they'll ignore what's unacceptable about it and create child friendly sets that tone down the adult elements.
  7. And the Simpsons is a TV-PG show... Serenity not being made was Lego just being cowardly (Star Wars is just as violent). The Winchester never had a chance just because it came from an R-rated movie (From a marketing standpoint why make a child's product for a movie that has no child audience). Lego ultimately likes to pick and choose what they find acceptable or not, in all of the movie themes Lego does censor elements from the PG-13 movies. They ignore outright violence and sexual content, they strip the movie down into it's most innocent form so they can sell it to kids. The current seasons of the Simpsons is no more inappropriate than any other movie they've adapted into Lego.
  8. Have to agree on this. The Simpsons is TV-PG (other than a handful of episodes which are TV-14). Granted there was a time when they did push the envelope, but anymore they play it remarkably safe. Its certainly mellowed out over the years and is becoming increasingly geared toward the whole family. Yeah, I don't foresee a problem here. I'm sure Smithers will appear in any set that contained Mr. Burns and I'm doubting Lego would bring it up because they don't generally include a description of characters and everything there is to know about them. (It's not like they'd feature a set with Smithers and his Malibu Stacy collection and his computer with the Mr. Burns screensaver) The same with sexism and religion, I'm doubting Lego will go out of it's way to handle those subjects just because the entire point of Lego is building, they'd undoubtedly ignore all of the content they didn't feel should be included in a set. As for Moe's Tavern I could see Lego doing a set of it, however with the alcohol it makes me think they'll do one of the other renditions of Moe's like Uncle Moe's Family Feedbag.
  9. I think this is great. They wouldn't even need a special head mold (Really just different eyes would create the look of the Simpsons). Plus this is a great chance to get a lot of nice cars (Sorry Lego but your constant barrage of emergency vehicles and convertibles is tiring, I want normal everyday vehicles). Plus think of all the various buildings we might get (A great way to build up my city layout). It's aired on comedy central but I believe Fox still owns it.
  10. As Lego Star Wars has shown us, if you wait long enough you'll eventually get what you want, it just takes time. And who knows, he could suddenly show up in a TV show or movie and gain the popularity needed to make it into a set.
  11. I don't mind getting so many Batman based sets, I just dislike that we get a Batman in almost every DC set (There are a few exceptions of course). They need to be making a new character instead of throwing in a token Batman into every set. I've been waiting years for a Batgirl minifig. And characters like Red Robin and Damian Wayne would be most welcome. Again I'm fine with Batman based sets so long as they actually give us new characters (Which have been far and few between these remakes of old figures)
  12. That looks pretty accurate to the movie. The scale of it is pretty nice too. I've always found it laughable how everyone thinks it's unbuildable (I mean there's a rendition of it featured in an official Lego video, not to mention the brick built versions we've seen in the games). There's probably a better reason why Lego has stayed away from all versions of Padme's famous mirror ship. Oh well, maybe in the future we'll see an actual set of this (One can hope anyway).
  13. Most of my minifigs with leg/hip printing is almost always a tad bit off.
  14. Yes, we're definitely missing a few key variations of C3PO. There's at least one more OT variations we need, one where the wiring on the torso is lined up (From the later movies). Then we really only need an Ep1 and Ep2 variation and than we'll pretty much have a full saga of 3PO's.
  15. Yup, there's a jail cell too. It pretty much has just as much stuff inside as last time, if not a tiny bit more.
  16. That actually looks pretty good.
  17. I think the current hairpiece stops the figure from being a good representation of Harrison Ford, so yes, a new hairpiece.
  18. I have to agree. Initially I thought it sounded interesting to get a Han Solo, but now that I think of it I can't really think of any variation I need for him, or any variation that would be good as an exclusive. However if they decided to give us a new head with more expressions or a new accurate hair piece I would be happy.
  19. You two really need to stop arguing as it is pointless and going nowhere and worst of all it's off topic. That's actually what I would prefer. In the movies they always appeared only semi-transparent and very sparkly and glowing. I would rather have glowing over transparent.
  20. I initially thought the same thing, but I couldn't help but think it would be a bit more balanced color wise for the head to be transparent (Visually to me it looks cleaner to break up the color a little, plus with the neck part of the torso being solid it would make the face print on the head pop a little more). Plus I think the hair being transparent might be a bit fragile (Plus we've seen them do transparent heads before, so we know it can be done). Either way a mix of transparent and solid parts could be done, so I feel its only a matter of time before we get something.
  21. I think the two arms, two legs and head being transparent with the rest a light shade of blue may create a good looking force ghosts.
  22. I would guess Han, Leia and Luke being included for sure. And probably 3-5 Ewoks, one Logray, Wicket and probably a couple of generic Ewoks (Maybe a baby Ewok or something special). I could also see getting a C3PO with this as he was pretty prominent in those scenes. I would guess for the model that it will be a Batcave style build with bridges connecting the various sections together (I don't see Lego using a big base plate on this). I'm sure we'll get three trees, a big one with a good portion of room for figures and two smaller ones. I imagine the main (Biggest) tree will probably be open from the back for access so Lego can cram in some interior features. Play features will probably be some sort of elevator (Just so there's something inside the otherwise cramped smaller tree), some vines to swing on, and probably a few flick fire missiles (As Lego can't help themselves not too) and probably a net trap of some sort. I'm sure we'll magically get a speeder as well (Despite the fact that I have too many as it is) Hopefully they'll be done with Endor sets for a while after this, as there isn't too much more they could cover.
  23. It could be something as simple as a recoloring. The last one looked good but the color wasn't great.
  24. It's more than just the Lego studio picture. We had a Lego store employee saying that it was coming and we had a site list it with the UCS X-Wing before that was announced and then we had the braided hairpiece in the collectible minifigs that looks like Leia's hair from the Ewok village. None of those things prove anything, but they do fuel the fire. Personally I see it happening. I think it's been a big want for a while and at some point it's got to happen.
  25. It's a good enough resemblance, but it doesn't wow me. I don't really like printed beards, they never quite look right to me.
