  1. I'm definitely buying this. It's just a neat looking set all around. Wish that they hadn't just recycled the vampire's from the other set, I mean for such a high price they could of at least given us some variation. One of the things that bugs me is the doors. Lego needs to design a new door piece, I'm almost sick of seeing that door. Also I think the windows are too small, I mean they could have used the window piece that actually has shutters. For the inside I really wish the stairs looked better. That's what bugs me about some of these big sets, the stairs just never look very impressive.
  2. Well there are many canons, I mean anything relating to comic books has multiple canons (An endless amount of universes because the source material is constantly re-imagined). And while the loss of power may seem ridiculous in relation to the comics it falls in line with what Smallville showed (Smallville's universe established that kryptonite could loose energy quickly depending on the type of drain. In their continuity Metallo's Kryptonite was drained and eventually replaced). Remember TLG tends to pull from multiple canons for the superhero sets. I mean in the first Lego Batman game we had references to comics, shows and movies. They reference what they want to create a unique storyline, so really we can't say this new game follows any previously established canon.
  3. In the show Smallville its established that kryptonite can be used as a power source, but like any battery it looses power and eventually after all the power is lost it turns clear and no longer emits any radiation.
  4. Well both were just updated in this years sets, so I'd say the torso itself will stay the same. I agree Qui-Gon will finally get a double-sided head, but I think the breathing device is unlikely. As for Obi-Wan he already has a double-sided head, so I'm hoping for a new hair piece, specifically a hairpiece that has the padawan braid (Which would be better than them printing it on the torso like last time, plus it would be a great piece to use for an Ep2 Anakin).
  5. Well only 7 of the 10 are new and out of those what makes them new is either the hat piece or the decal (Except for Jabba obviously). I already compared this to 8038 which had 12 minifigures, most of which were new variations, and had 890 pieces. That was at the $99.99 price point, so Jabba's palace with both less parts and less minifigures should come in under that price.
  6. I'd have to disagree, over $100 would be too much. This looks somewhat smaller than 8038 (The Battle of Endor, which included 12 minifigures and 890 pieces) which sold for about $100, so I'd reasonably think that Jabba's palace could sell for $60-$90. I mean the original jabba's palace was like $30 bucks, so for Lego to remake a set and charge four times as much would be unreal.
  7. Their a team of people who specializes in using technology to capture supernatural entities... Monster Fighters is basically Ghost busters, but not set in the 80's. I would rather it be like the Lego Studios sets where it mirrored a monster movie set-up (You know, a couple stumbles into a horrific situation and fights to escape). Also for me this just feels too much like Pharaoh's Quest or Atlantis, you have the same basic set-up of a team hunting down objects and facing off against supernatural beings. Monster Fighters looks pretty good, but it feels like the same story as those other theme's just with a different setting.
  8. Looks pretty good so far. I really like the monsters, but I'm unhappy with the hero characters. I'd rather them be a little less ghost busters and a bit more Scooby Doo. The monster fighters themselves just don't fit right into the sets.
  9. I hope with this new Obi-Wan Lego will finally give us a new hairpiece with the padawan braid (I always hated that they printed it on the torso before. Plus if they do make that an actual piece they can use it for Anakin in Ep2). I do hope we get more Ep1 sets in general. The royal Naboo star ship would be a great set and it wouldn't hurt to get Sabe and a few other Naboo characters. I'm curious though with the Gungun sub why queen Amidala is included, I would have thought Boss Nass would have made more sense (But getting a new Padme isn't too shabby at all)
  10. While I already have the previous pineapple houses I'll still buy this set. Squidwards house and Mrs. Puff make it worthwhile for me. I do have to say though the new pineapple house does fix a few key problems, firstly it is now properly scaled to Squidward's house and it seems as if finally the door can open all the way. As for the Flying Dutchman I feel like they missed the opportunity to give us a new Mr. Krab's (Who has yet to get proper claws), also the Dutchman minifigure is disappointing (Printing the nose on there makes the whole face look weird). And while the design of the entire thing isn't bad, I feel like some transparent pieces would have been welcomed (Considering its a ghost ship).
  11. Anakin's eyes are normal when he arrives at Mustafar, but later they turn yellow (If I remember correctly a persons appearance can change as they go farther to the dark side). Pretty neat set though, I was worried about how the figures would look, but I'm impressed by the amount of detail.
  12. We haven't seen a final version yet, the con exclusives are really only a preview so it's possible they differ from what the final product will be. The preview Green Lantern seemed incomplete to me as well since they used plain green pants and the printing on the torso seems to imply that it would continue on the belt and pants.
  13. I agree, we're only seeing the repeats because there's a demand for it right now. I'm sure eventually we'll start getting villain hideouts and other various sets, because after this first Batman wave they've pretty much covered their bases in terms of vehicles (Other than the tumbler) so they'd have to move on to something else.
  14. Well Red Robin is Tim Drake and the Robin in the set is Tim Drake as well, so you weren't really that wrong. Either way though I'm excited to finally have a proper Tim Drake (Although just a regular non-Robin version of him would be nice too, after all we have Bruce Wayne and Alfred). It would in general be nice to have a more rounded out cast for the Batman Lego's, we still don't have Gordon or his daughter (Batgirl) and a number of great villains haven't shown up either, but if this line continues long enough we'll eventually have to get it.
  15. I actually really like the looks of these sets, although I agree their less than they could have been, but this is just the first wave so it'll improve over time. The only thing that I really have a problem with is the Batmobile, it looks like the 90's movie version, which I don't personally like. I will point out to everyone that the figure in the Batcave set is not Red Robin, Red Robin wore a black cape with a black mask like Batman's except without the ears, so this is actually the Tim Drake version of Robin (In fact his appearance in this set looks pretty spot on to his appearance in BTAS). So just to clarify this is just another variation of Robin.
  16. I don't know about lime green, he is a ghost and lime green is too obnoxious for a restless spirit. Plus they've really stepped up the quality over the years so I'm sure the end result will be perfectly acceptable.
  17. I'd assume they'll base it off of his first episode appearance, meaning we'll get a Spongebob and Patrick in a scared variation, and a redesigned Mr. Krab's with scared face and the claws from the Davy Jones figure (People have complained about not having proper claws long enough, it only seems reasonable that Lego would fix it). The Flying Dutchman will be standard minifigure, I'd guess they'd use glow in the dark for the head, tail piece (I agree, they will use that genie tail) and hands. Based on price they'll probably give us a small boat of some kind, either the Dutchman's or the tiny boat Mr. Krab's was using in that particular episode. Generally each set is based loosely on a particular episode, so this is what I expect. But you can never tell for sure which direction TLG will go. Either way I'm excited!
