  1. I think it's likely we'll get at least Alfred, Nightwing and Killer Croc next year. For the Batman sets Lego does usually put in several remakes of the old figures. I would love to have a Batgirl minifigure. I don't know the odds of getting one. But who knows maybe Batgirl and Nightwing could be in a set fighting Killer Croc.
  2. Oh, sorry. I misread your post. There is no version of celebration Luke without the medal. The two versions you see on brickipedia are the same other than the heads.
  3. It exists. I believe it came in a character encyclopedia or something like that. Personally I'm not a fan of the figure since we now actually have a separate piece for medals.
  4. Yeah, I'm not thrilled about that at all. Honestly there is no episode of Family Guy that's even remotely appropriate for kids. The Simpsons may be a little risque at times but they manage to get a TV-PG rating the majority of the time.
  5. Wow, those figures look awful...
  6. Finally saw it. It's pretty good and the animation is really good. The only problem I had with it is that it's just a bit to short, another ten minutes or so would have smoothed it out greatly. And even if you have played the game it's still worth watching. There's a lot of new stuff in it and even the stuff reused from the game is quite different (As it's all been reanimated so some locations changed and some scenario's play out differently).
  7. This is the wrong place to post this. Try the Culture and Multimedia section where a topic on this movie already exist.
  8. Most children's products are either violent or promote unhealthy body image and for some reason a throw-away joke on a crappy sticker sheet is what sets this guy off. A sticker sheet that hasn't been produced in years no less. I mean I agree that joke shouldn't have been used, but complaining years after it's been discontinued is pointless. It's like protesting a war after it's already ended. Ultimately all this guy managed to do was get a half-hearted apology from a company that didn't even make it first hand.
  9. He is a crybaby. Spongebob makes dirtier jokes than that all the time.
  10. All I really took from that article is that he was giving his kid stickers instead of actual Lego bricks... That must have been one disappointed 4 year old. Complaining about this, of all things, seems rather shortsighted when other companies do much worse all the time, in fact many children's shows have used this same construction worker stereotype for jokes. Instead of tackling the issue of the use of this stereotype in children's media in general he decided to single out one company (That didn't even produce the product first hand) about a product that was discontinued years ago. So what exactly did he accomplish here? Well I have to sign off and go blog about discontinued products that are slightly offensive and that I'm too late to actually do anything about.
  11. From what I understand he is supposed to be Eric Savin, but they didn't name the minifigure that to avoid spoiling the movie. And more than likely the lack of resemblance has to do with Lego probably having to base the design on concept art rather than the finished product. You can see this particularly with characters like Mandarin, Black Widow and Hawkeye who's figures look very close to the concept art but not the actual movie characters. Lego has to design these figures pretty far in advance and character appearances can change pretty late in a movies development.
  12. Actually the minifigure isn't depicting that red dress from the senate. But you are right that it is indeed Portman who was wearing that costume. The Queen Amidala minifigure is in reference to the opening of TPM where the queen contacts the trade federation. At that point it is Amidala herself, her handmaiden Sabe pretends to be her after the federation invades.
  13. Honestly I think it's real. The seller was selling the Han Solo promo figure. Which seems to indicate they have access to promo type figures. Also the fact that the bag is printed and that the torso and head are newly printed elements kind of seems a bit too complex for a fake. And if this person was that talented to make these things to begin with why even bother trying to pass it off for real when a custom of that quality would sell for just as much?
  14. I don't know if I'd dismiss it that quickly. The torso is actually different from Superman's, it lacks the red at the top. Also this seems like a lot of work on the part of the seller. I mean if this were fake that would indicate that the seller fabricated the torso, head and bag, that just seems like a lot of work for a fake. Also if you look into the sellers feedback you'll notice that they were previously selling the Han Solo exclusive figure. While there is some possibility to this being fake there are indeed a number of factors that make it seem real.
  15. Looks pretty official. Must be an exclusive polybag or something, probably to promote the movie in June.
  16. Looks good. I only wish Lego would put out all these various suits. The Gemini in particular I'm hoping for. I really like your version, definitely one of the better customs I've seen for that suit. The one thing I think that sets your designs apart from Lego is probably the detailing on the torso and legs. I've noticed for Iron Man they often greatly simplify the look for the figures (But I can't fault them for that since the more complex the decal the more likely there will be printing errors). I do like the many details you have though, especially the foot printing. The coloring for the helmets is pretty good too.
  17. All About Bricks is reporting that all the Lego board games are cancelled. This includes the Batman one apparently. Hopefully Lego has some official statements soon. The Batman one was the only one I ever wanted to buy... Granted I'm not sure how much I believe this news, but based on how many times I see those things overstocked and discounted it's definitely possible.
  18. I've seen Tor-An with the short brown hair in the pictures. Also I've seen Faora with the same hairstyle and color in the pictures. Ultimately I'm sure Lego gave Faora the spiky hair so as to look different from Tor-An (It would be weird if they had the same hairpiece). As for the color I've seen some pictures where her hair looks more black than brown. And truthfully Lego is almost always a bit off on hair color. Zod has a dark brown almost black hair color in the images but on the actual minifigure they gave him a brown goatee and black eyebrows and hairpiece, it's like Lego couldn't commit to his hair being either brown or black so they threw in both (And it doesn't look right). So the box art is correct on which hairpiece goes where, Lego just made a few design decisions inaccurate to the movie.
  19. The MOS variation of Superman has grown on me, I now prefer it to last years version (Really the shade of blue they used kind of won me over, it just looks better to me). The set in itself isn't too bad, it just lacks anything of real originality (Looks like the Galidor ship to me). It's also weird how Zod has a brown goatee, but black eyebrows and hair. Also the hairpiece in general just doesn't fit. If you want a comic version of Lois use Wonder Women's head and a black hairpiece. For an Amy Adams version you might try Pepper Potts head or Ginny's head. Leia's head might be a suitable replacement for Black Widows head (Seems to have the attitude of the character).
  20. It says the minifigure can not be removed from the back panel. I'm even more unsure of how they're stuck on now. All I can guess is that there's glue on the back of the figures.
  21. Perhaps this is just their way of telling us Iron Patriot is to appear at some point. So I can hope.
  22. Then tell Lego that, they're the ones who pick and choose where the exclusives are released. I would have loved to get the Olympics figures. And it's not exactly racist, Lego probably just wants to release things in the markets where it has the greatest appeal. But hey, they might surprise us and release it worldwide, perhaps the Hobbit figure was a fluke and not an accurate guide to judge where a potential Iron Patriot figure will appear.
  23. That's flawed logic, the Olympics weren't only shown in the UK and yet they got the minifigures. So it wouldn't be a surprise for Lego to give America the most American themed figure as an exclusive just like they did with the UK.
  24. Cheekbones... Lego wants me crazy. Well at least they're not as atrocious looking as Black Widows. I'm not crazy about reusing the hairpiece either (Since it cuts off one side of her face we only see one cheekbone and it makes her look asymmetrical), and it just makes them look even more similar. Oh well, hopefully they make a non movie version at some point. I do really like the set design by itself though, although a bigger piece count probably would have helped the design some.
  25. I think you're right, the disks look to be the magnet part. But I'm not sure if they're glued to it. I assume that if the figures were glued to it then it would be the back of the legs where the glue would be, but Vader and Maul have capes hanging straight down behind them. Hopefully we find out more on these, if they're not glued than that would be awesome.
