  1. That's a clever way of doing it I'd not thought of. Thank you for sharing!
  2. Me too. I think all the pearlescent colours are really nice and not overdone. They feel "special" enough to look good and highlight a specific piece, like treasure, but can also be used to either be used as highlights or complimentary elements or even a more central and main part of the build. That makes me want to scrub my eyes! Amish Majisto!
  3. Unfortunately I don't know of any UK stores myself (not even sure how to find them either), but I'd love to know what kind of rare or q-parts you know of if you can even if it's just a list! I don't have the kind of money to drop like £10 or something like that on just a single 2x4 brick just because it's in an marbled colour for example, but the topic still really interests me. The only store I have favourited is Cornholio'sBricks located in Belgium and I have a wanted list on Bricklink for rare parts. Recently I found that this part comes in a few unreleased colours. (I'm also holding onto the slimmest hope of finding a Sea-tron minifig in the wild!)
  4. Lego could do a really unique suit for the groom if they wanted. Like a metallic coloured suit? Something really flashy (and / or tacky). Or the groom could have a plaid suit with detailed printing on the arms and legs, which I don't think has been done before.
  5. Well deserved! This one became my favourite as soon as a I saw the interior hidden within the modularity sections. It's packed with so much fun!
  6. Well done everyone! I'm pleased that Tapu Island took first place in the large category, it is definitely my favourite!
  7. That's some clever re-utilising of some of those parts. Rather insipiring actually, I'll have to think of this next time I feel like doing a figbarf!
  8. "Steve Origins: Meeting Redbeard" by Oky
  9. These are really cool! Do you mind if I ask where you got the torsos and heads from? I don't recognise them. Also, do you have any plans on where you want to use them? They seem like evil spirits as a counterpart to "good" jungle dwellers.
  10. This was an idea I was think of too. For what it is worth I didn't jump on any "band wagon," my building entry votes were purely based on my personal favourites after reviewing the list of entries, but I can kind of see what OP is saying. I don't know how feasible it would be but perhaps, in addition to YellowFrog's suggestion, voting should take place on a page with a list of all the entries (in an order randomised each time the page is loaded) and a thumbnail and checkbox next to them to place a vote. This could increase visibility of every entry and make it a little more fair.
  11. I would like to see original characters returning so we can see them modernised and reimagined in greater fidelity (we've already had a new cast in Pharaoh's Quest) but a few new faces would still be welcome. Why on earth would these two be in Egypt?
  12. I wish Lego would do more and bigger environments and put the same effort into them as they do with vehicles and buildings. I get that that's what children usually like more but they always feel like an after thought and very small and bare.
  13. I think some parts like this aren't technically "official." Sometimes you get parts molded in colours that they shouldn't be by factory workers who then smuggle them out. The plethora of trans-coloured Darth Vaders you can find are an example, I believe.
  14. As someone else mentioned, you haven't said anything about why you think it's a good thing besides it being a cool thing to do on their centenary. You can't be publicly owned and act like a privately owned company.
  15. That's really cute! It looks really good!
  16. We did get these hieroglyphs which appeared in two sets and is slightly different to any of the old ones. I always thought that was pretty neat that we now have five variants of the brick.
  17. This is even harder than voting for building entries because I can only vote for one person and I can't go back and review everyone's comments like I can with builds. But, I think I will go for @Math Wizard for being memorable with the character he injected into his comments.
  18. This is tough but here I go: Large category: Found Forbidden Fortune by Thewatchman Escape from the Imperial Trading Post by A_Goodman Tapu Island by Marooned Marin Steve's Hand Emporium by Bingowaldorf Steves Challenge by Christophh Small category: International Society of Steve by BrynnOfCastlegate Steve's Origins in the Desert by Horation End of the Pier by Elephant Knight The King’s Merchant by Marooned Marin Steve Arrives at the Enchanted Island by Horation
  19. The giant mask is so cool! Can you wear it? It looks large enough to. It looks very imminent and forboding.
  20. Incredible! You have some real talent to make some plastic elements look so life like!
  21. This brings back a memory from when I was about six years old. My dad had pulled up some carpet to replace it and I can't remember why but he pulled up some floorboards too and we found quite a bit of Lego down there. Some of it was a helmet, a megaphone, a rifle/camera thing, mostly space elements.
  22. I like the plants growing up the side of the wall, you've done them quite nicely. The whole things almost feels like a proper set. The only thing I think it's missing is something a bit more overtly pirate-y, like a cannon or parrot or palm tree, even a monkey, the setting feels a tad ambiguous otherwise.
  23. I think it's meant to be a sail because that's all they had to use on the island.
  24. That's pretty neat. I like the interchangeability of the tools and hands and I like how you kept the original walking mechanism. Also I love it whenever I see old and new dark grays mixed together like that! I have to be honest though, I don't like giving arms to the Granite Grinder, it takes away a lot of the charm of the original.
  25. I think making mocs like this using only classic parts and colours can be challenging because you put more limits on yourself and have to think more like how a creator would in the 80s or 90s, and I think you did very well. It feels so authentic! I kind of agree with Horation about the lack of colour, but I think it's acceptable because it fits in with the era. Maybe you could try replacing a couple of the white bricks with interlaced white and red plates to simulate decay like the panel on the left side? Two things I personally would add is a chair in the room at the top in front of the desk with the map, and the torch sconces at the main entrance could have some flame pieces in them.
