Me and my brother used to do that to make our own minifigures when we were young. I think you could also just add a wrinkle or two on the other side. Drawing a simple short, curved line should be easier. You have me wanting to get this torso to try it out now.

Nice idea, but I'd like it more if her right side didn't look like it was missing details without the badges. It feels unbalanced with no other pocket or wrinkles. I took a screenshot and quickly erased the pocket in paint and think it's somewhat better, but now it's a bit bare and it would be better still if there were possible to have two pockets.

Good choice for elements. The angles give it a villainous look without being too over the top. I particularly like the mudguards and the 2x4 slope for the hood. On a sidenote, the Adventurers cockpit is possibly my favourite Lego piece and was last used in 2021. There's a very real possibility TLG will retire the mold next year

How many antennas are there? I count about five antenna in total. It's a nice mostly-symmetrical design. Can the technic panels on the outside be moved to allow better access to the interior?

[Poll] Random Lego related questions Part II
Autumn replied to SpacePolice89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I miss the old grays but it's just nostalgia. The new bluish grays are simply superior, same with reddish brown and the new trans black. Sometimes I wonder if it really made a difference and Lego would still be as good with the old colours. We had tons of Lego stolen by movers when my mum moved home in 2009. It ranged from the late 70s that was my older siblings' to the early 00s that belonged to me and my brother. I'm still sad about it. I'm a bit obsessive about things aging or getting ruined so I definitely do my best to protect Lego from sunlight. Not too bothered about dust but still give it a dusting now and again with a soft brush. -
Bricklink and LEGO.com Account Merge
Autumn replied to Peppermint_M's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've taken a look at my cookies, even completely reset them and every time I open up Bricklink it asks me for my cookie preferences, date of birth, and a verification code to log in. Every time I open a new page or tab it wants my cookie preferences again even after I've logged in. It's so irritating. -
That would be why then! It's been a long time since I watched that movie.

MOC - Rock Raiders "Rubble Wrecker"
Autumn replied to Daedalus304's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That's so cool. I like how you created a vehicle for a purpose that is missing from the line up. Also love mocs for vintage themes that look like they'd fit right in! I saw the top half of the first image and thought it was a wrecking ball at first, maybe that's the next role to be filled. -
Minas Tirith was my first thought when I saw the images. It also makes me imagine it as a wonder from Age Of Empires.

Many people put way too much value on minifigs, even more so when it's licensed (and even more yet when it's Star Wars). Even Lego when they lock a character or unique variant of a character to a super expensive set. I'm unsure if you detected my sarcasm or not. I was taking a jab at the previous commenter that was essentially saying "old = good, new = bad."

[MOC] Johnny Thunder's motorcycle with sidecar
Autumn replied to The Reader's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Looks good! I would personally have used two of these for the front of the sidecar and maybe put a little windshield on top. Still like it though! -
Brick built small characters are better than "minifigs." We should go back to this.

It's the antithesis of a free market, freedom of association, and freedom of speech (which M*sk loves to harp on about). I thought being successful through capitalism was about creating a superior product in a competitive market, not by extortion and bullying? I hope TLG (and many others) don't give in to it.

Mattel announces new brand of building blocks similar to Lego
Autumn replied to Brick900's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I agree about competition being good. As much as I like Lego, I feel like they are slowly becoming complacent with their status. Still, a bit odd seeing as Mattel already have Mega, and I am curious to know how they are going to "bend the rules of construction with innovative features and materials". -
Brickshelf is shutting down. Let's try to save it.
Autumn replied to Trekkie99's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I lost access to my account long ago but two mocs I uploaded 2005/2006 are still there for now. Debating whether to save them or not, they're not exactly from very happy times. Still, it's sad news. I remember finding all kinds of creations on there that amazed me as a kid. Will spend some time looking around and seeing if there is anything exceedingly interesting worth saving that might otherwise get lost. -
I like it! The front mudguards do look a little concerning though. Are they only attached by clips? What's to stop them from touching the wheels and causing issues with friction?
-
Oh right! I watched about half it and thought it wasn't going to show anything new.
-
Wow! That's impressive! How did you get the wings to do that? The whole thing gives me classic Mata Nui era Bionicle vibes.

[MOC] Scorpion Tracker 2023
Autumn replied to The Reader's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Agreed. White especially is long overdue. -
You are reading those lists wrong. It is a list of parts that have been released in that colour, ordered by the date those parts were first released. It doesn't mean they appeared in that colour in that year. Dark blue, for example, first appears in 1961 as a few non-System cars and again in the 1990s as some textile clothing for Scala figures, but doesn't appear as a System element until 2001 for Xalax Racer Pip. This list helps visualise it better: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=1&colorInSet=63&sortBy=Y&sortAsc=A&catType=S Same goes for other colours like medium blue: a few old bricks with no anti-studs and windows in 1949 and 1950 and next appears as some street sweeper brushes in the 1980s. Light blue also has some windows in 1950, but besides some Aquazone baseplates in the 1990s and more Scala fabric clothing, doesn't appear again as a System element until 2003. Admittedly there are some like Maersk blue which appears surprisingly far back, but dark blue, for example, which is far more common, never appears in any Space, Legoland or Castle sets during the 1980s and 1990s. It's a bit of a gray area but certain elements like fabric clothing for Scala figures or sweeper brushes don't count in my books, and when there's a decades long hiatus for System elements (at best you get one or two niche parts the first few appearances) then I don't see how your argument against "revisionists" works so well. I'd like you to show where there was a similar spectrum of colours in the 1980s compared to today that wasn't your typical gray, black, white, red, yellow, blue, green or brown, etc. You can see my comment above for dark blue.

[MOC] Scorpion Tracker 2023
Autumn replied to The Reader's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice build! I always click on them when you post yours! The chassis was last used in 2021. If it doesn't appear in another set soon TLG will retire it! That would make me sad. -
I agree, clever design! I think to make look more distinctively "Futuron" you should change a few pieces to white (like the thrusters in bike form and feet in walker form) and then add one or two trans-blue pieces.
-
They both look good and so authentic. I can totally see them being official sets back then. The combiner model is nicely done!

Yeah, it's cool and all to see a bit of a more "classic space" approach, but City is supposed to be grounded in reality for people who want something a bit more normal and everyday. Would be better if they were separate themes.
