A new MOC from me! If anybody really knows me or has paid attention to my signature or avatar recently, they should know I'm stark raving bonkers about Muse (a British rock band), and their recent new album got me inspired to MOC some stuff based on the promotional artworks for the songs. One such artwork is that for Psycho: It's basically a human possessed by a mind virus carrying a baby, and I thought it would make a pretty cool Constraction figure. And here's my result: A full gallery with some alternate views, poses and close-up shots can be found in this Flickr album. Yes, the mottled effect in the artwork is exceptionally difficult to achieve, and probably would have been a lot better in military colours, but since there isn't a wide range of green and olive shells out there, I just dissassembled Jetran'Rex and used silver and gunmetal instead. Comments, praise, constructive criticism, questions and stuff relating to the MOC are welcome. I think there are other places where the song and band that inspired this can be discussed Enjoy!

Katryna and BOB (Big Okotoan Beast) by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr So, after a whole month after the first WIP, this MOC is finally finished! Meet BOB, a bull-like Rahi creature with more strength and bulk than any other creature. BOB weighs over 1.8kg and comprises of close to 800 pieces, over 200 inside the CCBS frame to fill it out alone. BOB (Big Okotoan Beast) by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr BOB's rider is Katryna, a female panther anthropomorph from a distant land who tamed and befriended BOB, something the villagers of Okoto tried (and failed) to do. Katryna prowls Okoto, travelling wherever she thinks she's needed, whether it's helping a Toa recover their Golden Mask or assisting the Dark Hunters. She doesn't make friends and she doesn't take sides. One minute, Katryna is the Toa's greatest ally. The next, she could be their worst enemy. Katryna by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Full gallery can be found here. Comments, constructive criticism and the like appreciated. I had a lot of fun constructing Katryna, my first attempt at a clearly feminine figure (kinda inspired by Roodaka really), and BOB, while he took a month to construct (kept running out of shells) and was a real pain to construct, and was nearly destroyed along the way by my cat when he knocked over a big display onto it, I think he turned out really well Hope you enjoyed looking at it as much as I did building it!

Kurkar, Master of Stone Held in high regard by the villagers he protects, Kurkar is an incredibly presumptuous Toa, who holds a lot of self-pride. Kurkar’s unique swords can be used both traditionally, or thrown in a fashion which traps an enemy against a wall. Kurkar’s Mask of Illumination allows him to dazzle his foes during battle, and also illuminate dark places. Front Front, 3/4 Angle Back Skeleton, Front Skeleton, Back Shoulder plating structure Foot filling Casual Apologies for the lacklustre photography, I rushed taking this pictures.

Charpai, Toraros, and Polarus: Masters of Magnetism
Dr_Chronos posted a topic in LEGO Action Figures
(Ok first off I'm terrible with naming characters, these guys sound like pokemon! ) Anyway this is a project I've wanted to do for a while, but because of exams I couldn't even start on it until yesterday! Essentially I wanted to make a toa of magnetism, but then one of my friends suggested I make 2 of them to account for the opposite poles. And so Charpai and Toraros were born! Charpai controls the attraction forces of magnetism and Toraros controls the repulsion. But then I had the idea of taking these guys a step further by giving them a new form... Polarus! A shot showing the two components, and how they are connected Tahu for size... Thanks for looking . Does Polarus stack up? Comments and Criticisms welcome! -

This Toa Fortress was invaded by Frostelus and the stone was stolen by the Piraka in the confusion, as the Toa team that guarded it died (except for some loser who went on to... *script-checking noises* set the stage for 6 of the world's most important heroes). *cue mlg sad music* But what if Frostelus never attacked and Makoki Stone guard team never died? Well in this universe, the Brotherhood of Makuta still wanted the Makoki Stone badly, so they hired a team of Toa mercenaries to defeat the Makoki Stone guard team and gather the stone, and thus began the Toa Civil War. The Order of Mata Nui stepped in and hired a team of Toa mercenaries themselves to help the Makoki Stone guard team combat the Brotherhood's team. When they did well enough on their own, the original Makoki Stone guard team was disbanded and the members went to various other locations. As the battles escalated, the Dark Hunters saw profit in this and secretly offered both the Brotherhood and the Order help, thus effectively managing both sides of the war. The Dark Hunters sold both sides cutting-edge weaponry, Kanohi, armor (color-coded for the Dark Hunters' convenience) and information on the other team's moves. Thus the story brings us to our star for today: the Order of Mata Nui's team's pyromaniac, a Toa of Fire that doesn't really call himself anything (in fact he never says anything at all, we don't know if he's even a he or even a Toa of Fire, we just assume that too!) but others call him "Pyro". He wields an Order-issued Flamethrower that can store air in the tank and burst it out at the target to blow them away. Pyro doesn't have a proper Kanohi, just a powerless makeshift mask similar to Hydraxon's. In a mad quest for knowledge driven by curiosity, we used an experimental mind-reading machine that the Order had laying around to see inside Pyro's memories. What we saw was a bit strange, we think the machine malfunctioned. We saw a colorful land full of rainbows and unicorns where Pyro was shooting strange baby-like Toa with rainbows, bubbles and lollipops. It's a bit strange, so we'll discard that. Without further ado, meet the Pyro!

(All pics link to Flickr) Function Video (5 seconds) I was realizing the day before yesterday that the 2015 Toa have one strategic advantage over the 2015 BIONICLE villains: none of the villains appear to be able to fly. So I thought I'd even the odds. Obviously, I had to use a few placeholder parts, but I still think it conveys the general idea I was going for. Skull Ripper includes 87 pieces total, and so I imagine she would hit about the same $15 price point as the other skull villains. Skull Ripper's torso features the same Technic function as Skull Basher's, but here it serves two very different purposes. From a standing position, it allows Skull Ripper to stab an opponent with her talons. In flight, it allows her to flap her wings. Ideally, I'd prefer Skull Ripper to use Tr. Blue instead of Tr. Light Blue, but from a practical standpoint I found that I had a more useful range of pieces in Tr. Light Blue. Thoughts, comments, criticism? Please share! This is my first MOC I've completed to my satisfaction in a few months, so I'm very proud of it, but I'm sure there's room for improvement!

Well, I've decided to venture outside of my comfort zone in Technicland, and post some of my stuff here. I've got a number of small and medium size Bionicle and Hero Factory creations that I feel do not justify their own threads, so I'll post them all in this thread. My first thing for this thread is a Bionicle update of a Galidor alien called Ooni. I have no idea if that is the name of the species, or the individual, or whatever, but i kind of like the freak. Ooni is also the only Galidor set I own, and I have a number of fond memories of playing with him. My copy is complete, aside from the other head. If I recall, there was no configuration of Ooni that looked good, and used all of his parts, so that was quite annoying. Anyway, I originally created this thing for the Battle For The Golden Mask contest, but as I was ineligible to enter, he was put in storage until I brought him out now. If I were to enter him, I would have given him a backstory involving being a horrible, twisted freak of nature from another dimension, who has a touch that causes everything around him to mutate horribly. Anyway, on to pictures. Bionicle Ooni by Saberwing007, on Flickr I kept all of his major features, including his weird jaws, color scheme, 4 arms, 4 legs, and 4 eyes. Ooni closeup by Saberwing007, on Flickr But, he is far more stable and poseable, and has opening jaws as well as poseable thumbs. Ooni Details by Saberwing007, on Flickr Given that the small arms on the original are more mechanical looking, I did the same on mine, with the Glatorian fists in DSG. Ooni Roar by Saberwing007, on Flickr Apparently, some village was able to snap a blurry photo of the beast roaring at nothing in particular. This is for almost ruining Lego forever! by Saberwing007, on Flickr Ooni attacks Ooni for almost ruining Lego forever. He deserves it. Also, this is literally the most dynamic pose I could get out of the original Ooni, as he is not really good for that, though not for the ratchet joints so much as weird proportions. There is probably going to be more creations to come, and if anybody wants instructions or more pictures, just let me know.

Thanks to some Bricklink orders that arrived today I can now show off my mods for the 2015 Toa One thing to mention with all of them except Onua. I built a custom torso since I didn't like the exposed ball joints on Tahu, Pohatu, Gali and Lewa. I didn't with Onua cause of his large chest piece. I won't show how its built until LDD updates. Till then feel free to guess how I built it. Also they all have silver armor save for Tahu and Kopaka's chest plates. I hope in later waves we get Silver Red or White printed chests for Tahu and Kopaka. Gallery when public http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=554632 Tahu I shortened his legs and change his feet from silver to red. Swapped out chest armor for Breakout version. I might change his eyes to orange once I get the summer sets. SKULL GRINDER This here is a pre-emptive revamp of Skull Grinder, which I used to experiment with some more unique structural building, as well as more slender building. I've had this built for a while, but have only recently got him photographed. Enjoy! And here's his skeleton. Note the upper body structure - I'm very proud of how that turned out :) Whaddya think?

Thus the story brings us to our star for today: the Order of Mata Nui's team's doctor, a Toa of Plasma who simply calls himself "Medic". Only select members of the Order know his real name. His weapon was designed by himself and built by the team's engineer (who also calls himself "Engineer"). It is a modified fire hose from Ta-Metru's forges that shoots a beam of elemental energy that binds together its target's mechanisms and makes them run better than usual, thus repairing any damage. When it's used, it builds up charge (that the Medic calls "Übercharge" that, when activated, makes its target (and the weapon's user) invulnerable for around eight seconds. It also has different settings for different effects, such as one that enhances its target's vision, accuracy and reflexes to the point where they can consistently land practically flawless hits and one similar to the base setting but sacrifices invulnerability for low passive damage resistance (which jumps to very high when Übercharged) and much faster charging. He wears a noble Hau that glows when he Übercharges someone. Not much is known about the Medic's past as a Su-Matoran, other than he was his town's doctor and made groundbreaking discoveries in repair, when his patients survived. Now as a Toa with access to the Order of Mata Nui and the Dark Hunters' vast armories and workshops he has much more healing potential, but he seems to view healing as a side effect of conducting his dangerous experiments out of curiosity. One can tell his maniacal laugh is not for discovering a quicker way to repair damage from a minigun. Anywho, without further ado, meet the Medic!

So, a lot of builders aren't really very keen with using G1 Bionicle parts with the CCBS. While that's fine and dandy, I just want to tease you with a little something I discovered the other week... Yep, Vorox armour works perfectly with CCBS bones with Technic holes! Connected with just one Technic pin, and kept stationary via it's own axle connector slotting into the bottom of the socket area of the bone, it's almost as if you have a brand spanking new CCBS shell! This Vorox can't believe his newly-revamped optics! Even if you're largely CCBS purist (like myself), I still think you should invest in some of these. They come in tan and brown like you see here, but also black and purple, and a 5 year money back guarantee! Lewis god dammit this isn't an infommercial please stop Give it a try!

I longed to make a MOC of my favorite OC anti-hero. And now, thanks to New Years which brought us Darth Vader, me and Demitsorou finally managed to tear almost all of our Bionicle sets apart to assemble him. Master of Pain by Artemiy Karpinskiy, on Flickr Kahlahnee is an OC of mine, a cursed Toa of Ice hailing from the twisted realm of Karzahni. Its ruler have crafted a powerful Mask of Suffering as a punishment for Kahlahnee's uncontrollable violent outbursts, which were the reason he's been sent to Karzahni in the first place. His weapon is a baseball bat. Don't ask me why.

So, I've been thinking of making and selling custom LEGO sets for money like many do, namely focusing on CCBS. However, I don't have that much to go on. Recently I've been trying to attach those armor shells from Knights Kingdom to an CCBS bone or shell. Especially this one: http://brickset.com/sets/containing-part-4244770 I wanted to attach them to the CCBS Shell to make some nice looking pauldrons, but came to an halt when I tried to find a way. But I somehow cant seem to find any way to attach them. I also tried building some custom limbs, but the results weren't good. So I wanted to ask, do you know any good examples or techniques on how to attach them?

Another digital MOC commission, done for lovely ghost-mantis! She commissioned me to do my revisions of two of her favorite Elemental Creatures - Uxar and Ketar. As you all can see, I took a very drastic approach. They do not look anything like their sets, and both me and Ghost-Mantis are okay with that. I made Uxar to look like both a moth and a dragonfly, with fluffy body and long tail. As for Ketar, I just made him a scorpion which he supposed to represent. I am quite proud of this segmented back and organic pincer design. (all images are clickable, as usual) --- Now folks remember, if you like what I do and you want to see me create your OC, a favorite Bionicle Character, or something else, feel free to look up my Commission Info!

When building Bionicle MOCs, I'm the kind of person who often starts by seeing a particular piece or two and then decides to build the whole thing around that piece; this build is no different. I started by trying to make a generic Toa frame, but stumbled across the Av-Matoran leg in the parts section- you know, that piece so hated by so many G1 Bionicle fans? I decided that I should try to put it to good use! Gallery when public: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=565293 Despite the generic name- sorry, I'm not too good at coming up with names on the fly- Claw Beast has a pretty interesting, albeit somewhat simple, build. In order to accommodate both the dual Av-Matoran legs and the gearbox, I had to make some extra space toward the back. Normally, a Technic beam would accomplish what I wanted, but I'm not that kind of person; I wanted something more unique than what I usually do! So I just stuck a Protector torso to the back and called it a day. The addition of this piece, along with the Av-Matoran legs, afforded some interesting possibilities: though I had intended the leg pieces to hold some sort of armor, with the leg joints of the larger torso being the actual legs of the creature, eventually, I reversed this decision as I was putting the torso armor on, realizing how impractical that would be, along with the fact that the weird shape of the Av-Matoran legs make such a connection possible simplistically. With both the frontal armor and the Av-Matoran legs in the way, the available joints of the Protector torso became the perfect spot to put another set of arms with wide enough spacing from the upper arms as to not impede motion significantly. However, due to all the added bulk, the sides of the gearbox had to be widened as to allow the arms some distance (they should be able to move as long as they're not completely vertical). I finished off the build with the feet and head, both which were intended to be somewhat avian in design to suggest that this creature might just be a mutated bird. More pictures below.

Ahh, the magnificent Lord of Skull Spiders. Many thought he was a rather weak set, sacrificing playability and some aesthetic appeal for fairly boring function. Recently, I've been playing around with system-based action figures, and, after seeing all these skull army creations pop up again, I decided to make my own version of him. I decided to make him more spiderlike, with the face of a jumping spider, the horns of a jewelled spider and of course, all eight legs, two spinnerets and two pedipalps. I made the pedipalps the smaller, female morph because I figured that, if they're too small to even be depicted in the actual set, they shouldn't actually be bulky in my MOC. Features string-shooting stud blaster spinnerets, 41 points of articulation and a stand which is supposed to hold the golden mask of skull spiders, although LDD lacks it. As far as I can tell, he's fully buildable. A better look at the stud shooter spinnerets and back. Ventral view of the big spider and his shiny. Comments and criticism appreciated!
