  1. Read the first chapter on your other topic, and it's very intriguing. And the chapters, too. Underground City? Gali's Challenge? I wonder what that's all about. I doubt I'll get the book. Only got the first one and never finished it. But I will say, this sounds like it'll be a good one.
  2. That's what I'm figuring, and I won't complain. While I could still tell it wasn't Mako, he did a quite a fine job as Iroh. I think Forresto put it best: "still not quite Mako." But seriously, who is? There's no replacing that voice. RIP, Mako.
  3. I feel like that's the future. And having a game like that wouldn't hurt Constraction at all. Also, no matter what we get, I want more smaller sets. I loved Hero Factory's route of all the Heroes being small, impulse purchases. More of that, please.
  4. I'm super stoked for Jack! Sad that it's 10 episodes, but so long as it gives a satisfying conclusion, I'll forgive. And I have no doubt it'll be good. Tartakovsky's back and it'll be airing on Adult Swim. Sounds like they'll be pulling out all the stops for a much darker, grittier show that you'd never see on a daytime kid's cartoon channel. I'm just wondering about Aku. Since the original voice actor died, I hope they get a good replacement. Also Voltron. Really need to see that as it looks really good. And it's the same animation studio that did Legend of Korra, so that's incentive enough.
  5. You got pics? I don't recall there ever being any issue when building mine. Also check back and make sure you built everything correctly. That's always a possibility.
  6. See, this is what I'd love. Like, a CCBS skeleton with system parts for armor. Or something along those lines. I really want there to be an ambiguity there. So it could be a Constraction theme, but one could also argue that it's System.
  7. This is very cool, but I gotta say, the big ram steals the show for me. Love how well the CCBS shells form convincing horns.
  8. Buildable insects reminded me: Remember the brick-built Dino line from back in the day? How about Constraction Dinos? That would be sweet.
  9. Nope! I was about to say the same! Fantastic job. I wish Lego would produce display pieces like this. I'd love to have a beautifully done Lego Tree on my shelf. Not only do I love the tree, but the table is fantastic as well. Love the curves it has.
  10. I'm always thinking about what's in store for the future, and the same goes for Constraction. Bionicle has a projected run through 2017, and whether or not it makes it past that, I'll always be wondering what will come next. So basically, what sorts of themes would you like to see come out of Constraction? Reboots? New ideas? Personally, I do love Hero Factory, but I have my doubts that it'll return. There's one thing I've heard tossed around among the community in the past, and that's the return of Exo Force. I would love to see Exo Force come back as a Constraction line, giving us CCBS mechs piloted by minifigs. I also really want to see system parts integrated into CCBS, so it'd be cool if that could happen. Like, give us brick-built playsets that included CCBS mechs. A bit of everything! So, what are your ideas?
  11. Gonna de-rail the conversation for a bit, but I just realized something. Do the Toa seem... Kinda weak to anyone else? I mean, they get to the Ancient City, fight Kulta, and get knocked out. Then Ekimu comes and save the day. And judging by the MoCo Game's ending comic, Umarak escapes, Ekimu comes, and saves the day. So not only does it seem that the Toa are incapable, but Ekimu is the real hero since he's the one who manages to defeat the final boss. Very curious to see if he'll deliver the finishing blow to Makuta.
  12. On a lighter note, UtD and Ekimu are both sold out (or backordered... Whatever) on the US Shop@Home site. So there's at least some demand for Bionicle. I would honestly be surprised if Bionicle didn't make its projected 3-year run.
  13. Really diggin' Umarak's pose in the first panel. Kinda sad to see no preview for next year like how the Mask of Control game gave us a sneak peak of Umarak the Destroyer. Guess it's still a little early for 2017 stuff, though.
  14. Oh yes, bring on the elements! I'd love some rock monsters. And considering the futuristic nature of Nexo Knights, some evil robots for a metal element isn't too far fetched.
  15. Yeah but... His name is still Poop.
  16. Wait... Poop? We're getting a guy called Poop?
  17. I gotta say, Ekimu has continued to impress me the more I look at him. He'll definitely be my next purchase. I'm surprised at how well a dominantly trans color scheme worked out. Especially for the mask. Really evokes a "coursing with energy" appearance. Thanks for all the reviews, VBBN! It's always nice reading your thoughts on the sets.
  18. This is the Beast I've been looking at getting. He seems to be a good balance of looks and function (maybe a little less in the looks department). But that function. It's like nothing we've ever seen, and I want to mess around with it. That's creativity.
  19. Much like Quake being an example of neat idea, poor execution, Lava Beast seems to the example of tried and true. Not much in terms of creativity, but the overall looks great (legs aside). Don't know if I'll get him, though. Been trying to limit my spending, but he's definitely an option.
  20. Thanks for the review! Quake Beast seems to be a good example of a neat idea with poor execution. I love the idea of a giant, crystalline death-arm, but it's far too gappy to pull off that look. And the function is lackluster. The asymmetry's good, I will say. And poseability in that death-arm is much appreciated.
  21. I like him. There are some things I think that could've been done better, but on the whole, not bad. Swapping out those rear ankle bits for the open balljoint version does wonders, though. Really the only thing I don't particularly like is the neck area. It just looks and feels really stiff and gappy. Not a deal breaker. Also, you said there wasn't a good way to activate the claw function. I find that moving the Bohrok eye is the most effective. But yeah, I could've done with more friction. It can hold a pose, but good luck getting him to hold anything.
  22. Yes. All of my yes. I'm lovin' that little bird. He is the most perfect thing and the best G2 set to date. I want him. And then I'll get Ekimu as his accessory.
  23. I will say the dual-injected masks have been tempting me to build MoCs with less conventional color schemes. Who'd have thought to put trans lime green with red or white?
  24. Resurrected Samukai and Samurago are things I can easily see happening in the official story. Anywho, this looks great. Love me some Samurai, and this greatly captures that essence. Love how well integrated into the build Samukai is. The only thing I'm not sure about are the wide spread legs. And the lack of four arms.
  25. But do you think the SW sets can get away with being higher priced because they're Star Wars? I mean, look at it from the perspective of a kid. They see Bionicle and SW on the shelf. If they know about SW, I can see them spending more on a character they're familiar with as opposed to a character they know nothing about despite said character being cheaper in price. I'm kinda the same way. Tenkai Knights were relatively cheap, but I was hesitant to buy because I knew nothing about the story (or the product, for that matter). But, yeah, price matters. Cheaper is definitely better and a good way to push the product. But I also think it really boils down to "is it cool?". Because I'd definitely get something I knew nothing about if it was cool enough. Also, I've brought up Walmarts and Targets around me only having limited to no stock of Bionicle, but thinking back, I think I started seeing this trend back in mid-to-late 2012 (around the end of HF's Breakout line). So that definitely wasn't caused by Bionicle, at least. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
