Next question: embedding https images...
aFrInaTi0n replied to Grover's topic in Forum Information and Help
Hello Grover, yes since some months we upgraded the forum to the latest version, which had some functions trimmed for security reasons. URLs to external pictures will still work, if they are directly linking to a picture. your original link: https://imgur.com/kdVXhea working link to the picucture of the URL: https://i.imgur.com/kdVXhea.jpeg so with the latter it would work: The image URL can be retrieved from right-clicking on the picture at imgur and selecting "copy image address" and pasting the resulting URL in the forums. Sorry for the inconveniences and hope I could answer your question! Best regards -
The forum products options are somehow weird... they offer three different sizings of editor bar items to be applied for differenz viewport sizes (large, medium, small). I added the missing quote-icon it to all the three to allow a more constant user experience over different view sizes. btw my brains just hurt on reading upside down textes - so I am also lucky we can offer you a better option instead again.

implemented again - sorry for the inconveniences and thanks for the report! ♥

Yes, unfortunately this was removed with one of the latest updates from the vendor. Thanks for starting this thread as I am quite new to the team and don't have mid-long range experiences, so I may want to ask at the staff if they know if that was some custom Eb addition or if the function originally was offered from the vendor. Will get back on that.

This 19 year break in this thread is just hilarious... It reminds me of the SpongeBob Squarepants screens... "19 years later..."

@Hod Carrier I am just an admin, no mod - so I can not tell you what would be fitting - if you know in which theme forum you like to post, I would recommend to search for a Moderator of the theme subforum and send him / her a private message and ask. Otherwise you may long wait "for the right person to give you a fitting answer". best regards

nice, sent you a private message with more details for your case. For others missing some Digest mails: We may have some little count of mails not resendable - so expect a little gap between 17th of March 2025 till 8th of April 2025.

@Murdoch17 I will check if I see more details and come back via private message.

Oh forgot to reply in this thread - issue is solved, the not-sent mails since 17th of February shall have arrived in most of the mailboxes. Sorry for the inconveniences - we assured this will not happen again.

We identified the issue of the mails not going out and addressed it - latest in 24h all stuck mails shall be sent out - so be prepared for a bunch of old ones coming in as well.. Sorry for the inconveniences! -
I will take a look later. @decemberssecond1 Would it be ok for you if I send some mails manually from our domain to your account for testing purposes later? I think I will get back to you over the weekend via private message. If others have similar issues, please feel free to report them aswell.

Just a little FYI for MOC Creators: @Philo updated the parts pack for his Buwizz models not have those sticking out boxes anymore showing in the latest Studio versions. The parts-pack has been updated and needs to be re-downloaded and put into the CustomPArts folder again. Big thanks to again Philo! :)

@Mister Phes May you help out? Thanks in advance

Just to add: sorry if I did not clarify about banners being created & selected by the staff teams of the sub forums. So as @MKJoshA clarified, we are working on getting a fitting theme banner back in place.

I may play the ball to @MKJoshA / @Jim regarding copyright strike topics - as I am just a technical person & also just joined recently the staff team.

Hello @Lyichir, as Jesse pointed out already, such implementations are not always easy to implement. Additionally we are currently in a phase where we would like to upgrade to the latest major version from the vendor of the forum software. Our goal there is to upgrade to the major upgrade 1st, afterwards we may have time to think about such features to get implemented. So right now it is a "sorry, we don't have the capacity & priority for such requests right now" - but please don't read it as a rude "nope"! I would encourage you to give the topic a bump in half a year - also if others are using Bluesky and would like to have an implementation, please put your interest in the thread.

@Stereo I am also occationally having the reply box messing up and making it impossible to really edit your post, moving the cursor etc. Unfortunately, it does not make much sense to dig deeper for the reasons, background of this decision is the vendor has released the next major version of the forum software 2 weeks ago & we like to switch as soon as possible and would like to just start our efforts on the new major version. I have listed the glitches in the maintenance thread in this forum.

Hey folks, yes, BBCode is considered deprecated by newer versions of the Forum software for security reasons. We basically can't get around it - but you are right, we have not really informed how to work with pictures now. Flickr Like @Yoggington and @SERVATOR explained already - you need to extract yourself the URL in the part between the [img][/img] tags and just paste this into the reply. Bricksafe Bricksafe offers the resizings via prepared URLs, so one would take one of those with being below the 1024px restriction and also just paste the URL. ---- Edit: The Flickr Example is a good one why BBCode is considered being potentionally harmful: It allows to create links on images which may lead to scam URLs with no obvious sign for a user to know, so "just a wrong click" could do harm to a user.
