  1. I do not think it is relevant to set aside the profitability question, because it is a fundamental aspect that drives Lego's ambition and technical possibilities. Technically speaking, they most probably can do again anything they have done before. It is merely a question of "do they want to do it again?". And what would convince them to do it, except the possibility to make a profit from it? Lego does not work for art or for glory, they work for money.
  2. So harmonious, so slick in curves and angles... Now, THIS is what I would call a perfect alternate model! Excellent job, I am amazed!
  3. You clearly are not alone to have looked around to see how things are going elsewhere. On my side, I did it when I felt the desire do build a nice car with full-remote motorization and gearbox... Which LEGO never bothered to make. I would say that it is not a taboo around here anymore, yet I think it should not be discussed further on this specific topic.
  4. Big kudos to all participants, because honnestly all entries were great and their respective designer can be proud! Also a big thanks for people who have made this event possible. This is really what makes EB shine among social networks: here, we do not have just pictures of MOCs with only "this is my latest creation, please click the LIKE button !", we can follow the creation process on a nearly-daily basis, see how others' comment can influence or even help MOCs becoming really cool.
  5. I agree, this model is really great. But several other entries also, and I fear that it will be very difficult for me to decide how to vote this time...
  6. As I said, there is much potential for a very good MOC to be published with your work, and I took the time to tell you all this because I sincerely believe it. Maybe you could do like many designers on Rebrickable and have your instructions made by someone else? This is quite a classic move, and there are some very talented instructions maker that often collaborate with designers out there.
  7. Since I have some experience in instruction making, what I can say is that this is a good start, but it clearly needs some more work. To me, the first thing would be to make sure that all your submodels can really stack one after the other without having to remove any parts. For example, on the step where you attach the bed to the chassis: the that attaches the submodel cannot be installed on the axle in one single shot, so some extra steps need to be taken for this. Once you are sure of the "modular" aspect of your build is OK, then indeed you should make "lighter" steps within submodels, because many of them are too confusing, even for an experienced Technic builder. As an example, you can consider your Step #2: I sincerly think that 90% of the users would just abandon the build right here. And for the other ones, then I think they definitely will drop out at step #4. Too much parts at once, lack of visibility, and overall diffulty to guess what goes where and in which order. Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing your IO file, there is a very strong potential for a very good MOC here! Feel free to reach out if you need help.
  8. Cute and faithfull to the original: very good work!
  9. There is this MOC by _TLG_ : I have built it and found that it uses very advanced build techniques and the process is quite hard, yet its look is excellent. Highly recommended if you like the 308 and Lego-building challenges!
  10. I cannot tell whether this is illegal or not, but to me, a working solution to replace a rubber band (perishable by design) is always — at least — worthy of interest.
  11. Excellent! I am not really into Star Wars stuff, but the X-Wing is so iconic, and your model seems to be as faithful to the original as it can be, considering the limited inventory. Very nice % of parts reusage, by the way! You are one of the best designers on Rebrickable, and it definitely shows yet again with this work. Kudos!
  12. Great idea, but it would be so much better if it were DOTS Friends Mindstorms, wouldn't it?
  13. Extraordinary work, especially on the updated version: as a big fan of the F40, I really would like to build it someday!
  14. I am not so much building sets for myself lately, I am more into building with my 4-year old daughter who already loves Lego, and the last one we built is the #42040 Fire Plane : a very good Technic set indeed, with a nice look, well-made functions, and a very good playablility, along with a great aducational value on how a plane works
  15. Just got a #42145 Airbus helicopter for 90€ : the guy got it for Christmas, built it and sold it after a few weeks. Everythin is in nearly perfect condition, including instructions and box. He even kept the spare parts with it !
  16. Great trial truck, so much better than the Zetros! It looks nice and its performance seems very enjoyable, bravo!
  17. I hardly think anyone considers 18+ sets to be "hard": they are longer to build at best, but thanks to the way the sets are designed and how instructions are detailed nowadays, really "hard sets" is more something of the past. We all know the "18+" tag merely indicates that a set is more for display than play — and that your wallet will suffer more
  18. Very nice and smooth model, and bonus for the choice of color: I have always liked black Lambos (black Diablo FTW)! I really like your gapless panel usage, and the parts used for lights is also a very fine touch. Congrats!
  19. The truck is already great in itself, but with the other modules it is really an awesome pack! And I cannot express my gratitude to share all this for free: thanks a lot! Just wondering: are the different configurations easy to install/remove once they are assembled?
  20. Hi all, The MOC has (at last!) been published, you can find it on Rebrickable. Looking forward to getting your feedback, either on the model or on the instructions! :)
  21. Very nice and smooth, well done!
  22. I have tried this version, but it seems that the function to include the current program in the curstom firmware is not available anymore... Is this normal?
