  1. I have been waiting for such kind of feature since I discovered PyBricks at the beginning of 2022... True, we already have BrickController2, but the smartphone remains necessary in the middle and it induces a palpable latency in the controls.
  2. Dang... what a sad news! I was more quite tempted to get one #51515, but was waiting to see it a good price: I guess I should buy it right now, especially since Lego is the only shop who is selling it in France as of now?
  3. Excellent MOC, for sure, and probably one of the best example of near-perfection MOCing. I am speechless in front of all those functions and your no-compromise way of implementing them. Kudos!
  4. I have opened about 60 new Lego boxes for the last 3 years and honnestly I never had any missing part in them, and furthermore, the spare parts mentioned by Rebrickable (not checked Brickset or Bricklink) were always correct.
  5. Very nice! As a big fan of the #8292, your MOC might just make me buy a #42144 as soon as I can find one at a reasonable price!
  6. You model seems very nice, good job ! But is it normal that the wheels turn to the opposite side of the steering wheel? (1:12 in the video) 🤔
  7. Got a near-perfect condition 42042 Crawler Crane (including stickers, instructions and box) for 60€ in July: normally, this can be found today for more than twice this price, the guy was apparentely not much aware of what he was selling... Very nice model, with enjoyable building process and nice functions — I added 2 levers to make all motorized functions independant, though.
  8. It may not be a total ban, it could be more like dissuasive taxes that would make TLG's think twice before investing more in those countries. This is generally a first step before a real ban, to encourage the companies to adapt before the real stop.
  9. You know what? This is exactly how I used to think... 20 years ago! Now that I can look how it has evolved, I think LEGO has become the biggest toy maker precisely because of the part specialization, allowing them to reach AFOLs and their deep pockets thanks to models realism + new young fans of popular culture with licensed sets. In both cases, those sets are bound to stay built/boxed instead of dismantled to build something else. The original target of Lego, people who only buy a few sets and keep on with building things with them, was far less profitable than the new ones. Also, if Lego did not release new parts, I think they would be quickly surpassed by amateur designers, who only get to use existing ones, so this allows TLG to keep up ahead with the competition — at least in apparently. On my side, what I think will kill Lego is more something like general ban on plastic toys. This can seem unrealistic to most people, but considering the rapidly growing reject of plastic-based materials due to their pollutant side, the scarcity on oil + raising costs to harvest it, and also raising costs of storage and shipping these boxes, I would not be surprised to see TLG unable to sell sets in some rich countries before the 2030s. Which would mean the death of Lego — as we know it, at least (TLG may try to shift to 100% virtual playing to stay alive before so). And this, as you may have guessed, is my biggest unpopular opinion about Lego
  10. Indeed, but if someday it breaks and cannot be repaired/replaced, you will still be able to revert to standard batteries. It is more like an add-on feature than a replacement product.
  11. If this person makes a mistake regarding your LEGO and then get away with it, he/she will definitely do the same again with something else, even more "serious" (electronics, jewelery, you name it). And what if someday she does something potentially dangerous to your kids? The proper reaction is maybe not to fire this person, but at least make him/her understand that this is a breach of trust, and this cannot happen again. Also try to compensate the loss with something, like a few hours of free work, for example.
  12. Does anyone know if it is a real LEGO part? I have looked in all "brick modified" and "connector" catalogs of BrickLink without finding it...
  13. Impressive... How did you get all this?
  14. Nico must be the only designer who describes and comments its creations' birth process: this is really precious for MOCers, but also for amators that wonder how MOCs get made the way they are, and not differently. Way to go!!
  15. In the same way, I think that winners of EB contests should commit to publish PDF instructions of their MOC — or at least a LDD/LXF/IO file thereof — and receive their prize only when this has been done.
  16. I had missed this MOC until today, but happy Jayden up'ed it. I really like how this MOC looks, with its features and details, at a reasonnable size and part count. Nailed it, @SaperPL!
  17. Your banker and your wife, probably? It is only a matter of making multiple $150+ orders, after all...
  18. I am pretty sure that for die-hard SW fans, all the saga's vehicles can be pretty much considered as realworld stuff... from a certain point of view It really depends on what a "good" argument is to you, because the answer is quite simple, actually. If your audience is 80% people who do not care about mechanics, your marketing department WILL adapt the products so that it pleases these 80%, and make only marginal things to try and attract the remaining 20%.
  19. I never realized that those rims were so expensive and rare: only 5 shops are selling it on BL! I found a full 42056 at 200€ last year: it feels strange to think that only those rims cover this price today
  20. If you know that about 10,000 people will be interested in your book (this is a book for the Ferrari fans), it is better to sell 5,000 for 80€ than 10,000 for 20€ (the price it should realistically be sold at) ;) As for second-hand market, much stuff is sold through BrickLink these days, which takes some % from each transaction and belongs to LEGO, so...
  21. So cute and well designed, bravo! I am not in modular buildings, but can regonize most of them anyway, and this scale allows to have a great city without dedicating a full room for it, great idea!
  22. On my side, ecxept maybe Mountain View Observatory, nothing really makes me want to let my money go this time, especially since they are all quite expensive products. I am rather likely to pass and wait for round 4!
  23. Truly magnificent, I just not have any other words! And the black color is both gorgeous and unusual in LEGO supercars, which make your model shine evermore. Kudos!
  24. Really great model, I think it will do well in the contest! In the end, the only thing that bothers me are the yellow bushes in the wheels... I would have put LBG ones, but maybe it is some reference to something I do not get?
